My most wanted change for AE2013

Let’s see:

Vanilla SF4: People complained about dat damage and herp derp trade into ultras
SSFIV: People complained about charge characters and calling the game down back fighter 4
AE: People complaining about OMG I can’t block the VORTEX!!

In other words, there will ALWAYS be people bitching about something, you can’t satisfy 'em all no matter how many times you change a game.

Fei should be able to combo rekkas off cr.mk and rekkas should armor break, I have wanted this for sooooooo very long man.

You forgot to add that all rekkas should be +7 on block

ST is a great game but let’s not overated it. It has it’s own share of problems - just watch SF 25th anniversary and see how many players switched to O. Sagat - we had 2 O. Sagat mirror matches in top 8.

My main issue with SFIV in general…is that there isn’t enough payoff for basic pressure and spacing. In ST the damage on single pokes and throws were higher and the frame traps and meaties were stronger.

You didn’t have to be part of the vortex club to make people pay.

I don’t really see much problem with vortex in of itself. It’s the only way you can really make people pay for bad positioning in this game and quick pressure that kills you off quickly is standard for SF games.

Damn son, I never knew I was bad player because I shared my opinion.

Moving on.

more damage
faster moves
make balrogs dash punches all faster

EX.Scissors gives a hard knockdown.

first, ex messiah not going over crouching oponents NEVER (at least on HIT)! now that i said that please buff all the weak-intermediate characters WITHOUT THE FEAR OF MAKING THEM GOOD! (witch is exactly what you have to do). I just what to be able to use my ex invencible move on wakeup (whitch is for what it was designed to) and, at the same time, fight against anyone without feeling that his character is bad.

O. Sagat…thought he was semi banned? I know Akuma was for obvious reasons, but I thought Old Sagat came under a lot of scrutiny as well. I love ST personally though, probably my favorite fighter. I also like high damage games in general, it seems to add more tension, you can’t make a bunch of small mistakes and still win. BTW is the ST grand finals 25th anniversary up on the site somewhere? I’d love to see the vid if possible.

Still no sign of the off-stream matches in AE 2012… :frowning:

O.Sagat was…4th regarding the tier list iirc.

If anyone was semi banned, it was Claw.

Yeah I was gonna say I thought Claw was the most hated character.

No, in Japan O. Sagat was soft banned (at least for a good period - I’m not sure how is it now). Claw wasn’t banned - Mao just won ToL with him, Tokido won Evo once with Claw, and there are others Claw players in Japan.

Removing Unblockable Crossup will made vortex player and elfuerte player retire.
But serve them right…for exploiting glitch.

Yess…I’m with you guys, next 2013 patch , capcom should remove unblockable cross up.

I never said the word bad…I’m just saying older top SF players grew up into being the tight players they were dealing with the crap you guys always wanna patch and band aid n shit. You can only do that for so long before you just suck everything out of the game. Which at that point you’re just playing about the same variable all the time and not forcing your fundamentals to keep out of bad situations.

Lol, I don’t wanna patch and band aid n shit anything. It’s just my preference. I’ll keep playing Street Fighter whichever direction it goes and I’ll adapt. And there’s plenty to the game outside of vortexes. Even though I play Abel and I like to mindfuck people with making them guess which side I’ll roll to after a hard knockdown, whether I’ll tornado throw/ cs. fierce punch / keep going with jab pressure into a step kick or a tick throw, et cetera, et cetera, I’m of the mindset that vortexes are just crutches because they are basically a big ol’ guessing game.

Honestly, I think to find out what to change all we have to do i look and see what’s broken in the highest level. And what’s broken?

Akuma.

We got: Teleport. Dive kick mixups, fireballs, air fireballs, super walk speed, dragon punches, crazy meterless combos, insanely damaging and easy to land ultra/super ( good bye jump-ins), and tons of damage.

Cammy is a solid, safe character but FFS her vortex does not begin to compare with Akuma’s. Rufus likewise. Akuma is just broken, it’s that simple.
To beat a good Akuma you have to GUESS correctly a bunch of times. He can keep away safely ( air fireballs hello, also fireball jumpin shield, la di da), run away safely ( teleports yay), and mix you up to hell. How about that standing high kick? So much joy.

No man. Just nerf him. That’s all. Nerf Akuma and make the useless characters a bit better:

Dan`s command throw plz. Hakan anti-air normal plz. Yang damage plz. That’s it.

Salty much? Also, yes, let’s take the nerf bat to the top tier character that - excepting Fei Long and Adon - plays the most traditional, fundamentals-based Street Fighter while leaving the characters that are nothing but walking mixups, often brainless ones, intact. Sounds like a plan. Sure to make the game more enjoyable, yesyes.

Wow, the amount of salt in that post!

A character that mostly has 5-5 matchups with some 6-4s in his favor and against it = broken? It’s impossible to have all 5-5 matchups, that will never ever happen as long as different characters have different moves and properties.

Talk about people these days being fucking spoiled with a patch out every once in a while that would help them cry less, jeez.
