I’ll try to record some of what I’ve found when I get a chance and when I have more. I had ideas running through my head when I got in bed last night.
I actually found this video a few months back, thank you for referring it to me!
I switched around my team to switch between Skrull/Vergil on point and Frankie as secondary, when I choose a point char., the other is anchor. I’ve put my own stuff together with the team and I like the way it’s going; but I just gotta get those “touch of death” combos that kill characters in one sitting. It just seems really difficult because I feel like my combos add up hits but don’t do damage

Yeah Level 1 Frank is going to have some trouble killing and leveling at the same time unless you have a THC like Dante’s or Rocket Raccoon’s that you can follow with some fixed-state moves. If you can’t kill and level at the same time, just focus on getting chainsaws (obviously) and making sure that your final Snapshot leaves you safe (so preferably call an assist first), and puts you in an advantageous situation after they tech.
Incidentally, @Fuzzykips @TheCape I was messing around and noticed that if Frank gets snapped with either of your teams you get ~950k damage off a throw starting with Level 1 and slightlyyyy over a bar with standard stuff. That’s crazyyyy lol. What do you guys follow Jam Session up with after the air throw pickup? I just did two jump loops into superjump series, THC, and the s.S follow-up into Spencer’s assist. Man those THC follow-ups are ridiculous…Cape, you might get more off backdash+QW Snapshot (scaling), but you might have to trade that for some meter-build. I wasn’t able to do that into cr.LMHS sj.M Tools L Tools L when I tried a couple times, but I’m not sure if it was my spacing or HSD that made them flip between the two Tools.
Also, a little more practice has convinced me that timing s.S to sync with the last shot of Million Dollars is actually really easy. Definitely worth learning for the little bit of extra damage/meter. Also the timing is easier on the Tools H into Zombie because you’re falling from superjump height instead of doing it off a Knee Drop.
EDIT: Oh yeah, if you guys get a raw Survival Tools (at 4/5) and DHC into DT/tag Frank back in to continue the combo, what do you follow up with? Someone told me they did that the other day…but I did Tools H, Tools L, cr.Ms.H, and they flipped out between the cr.M and s.S…but I let Survival Tools rock as well. Should I DHC sooner for a better follow-up? Until one of you mentioned it, I was just continuing with Dante because he can basically do j.H Airplay j.H into a full combo/reset, but Frank’d probably be better in the end.
I never actually labbed the damage, but generally just do j.MMHS, j.MMHS, S into standard combo off a front throw at Level 1. I’ll have to try it out once I get home today.
As for raw Survival Tools, I just make it up as I go along, haha. I generally do Tools H into Tools M, then relaunch, but I think if you DT on the 2nd to last hit, you’d have time to like… Snapshot + Jam Session? Could probably get a lot better extension off of that. Again, something I haven’t really labbed.
Hoping I get a chance to lab some stuff and post it later as well. Been trying to layer an incoming mixup and I think I’m getting somewhere. Frank’s instant overheads vs. some crouchboxes are a little problematic, but I realized that if you roll into the corner (so your back is to the corner and they’re right in front of you in block stun), you can actually up back and j.M and it’ll connect vs. crouching hitboxes as small as Frank’s own…might be able to do something with that. Possibly j.M Knee Drop, but it has to be really fast…dunno if it’ll link. I guess you could always just straight Knee Drop–fast but just reactable, although it is +4 and a damned good confirm.
Am I right that j.L doesn’t work as an instant overhead against characters like Frank/Morrigan/Ammy? Not sure if it was my execution or not It’s free vs. normal chars though.

Yeah that’s what I did as well. I was able to land 3 reps (ending with j.MHS IIRC), but couldn’t get a relaunch afterwards. I didn’t try for long, but I think it probably maxes at 2. If you assume the meter from the Snap, staring with juuuust over a bar (like 1.05) lets you THC afterwards and do your Zombie/s.S sj.S into Shenanigans to build a bar, etc. Gets like 330k pre-THC, so that puts it about 950k after all’s said and done. Not bad for a Level 1 Frank throw combo staring from ~a bar.

Haha yeah pretty much what I’ve been doing. I generally do a Dante combo into a grapple reset, but maybe Frank can get more out of it. I’ll try Snapshot +JS, but Survival Tools + Tag actually causes a bizarre amount of combined HSD…damage scaling would be offset by the fast that ST has already done huge damage, though, so I can’t imagine the end result would be that bad. Lemme know if you find anything.

generally for figuring out hitstun for ground combos if Tools L into a series doesn’t work, try going straight into cMsH Tools L S. it’s usually a mix and match of those two starters + how many reps in any situation where ground loops are viable.
I know someone probably already asked this but does anyone know why I don’t get chainsaws in this combo? Even though it says I’m lvl 4?
recorded on iphone. hopefully I get a capture card soon lol.
Its a glitch. If you perform the super one frame after the camera hits it does not level you up properly for the super itself. But you will have them after.

Thanks. Always wondered about that
Yeah that’s a pretty annoying glitch especially since you lose out on a bunch of damage, since lvl1 ST deals shit damage compared to level 4
Just something about Magneto that I think needed clarification:
Frank can convert (Object Toss)+EMD into Tools L loops from anywhere on the screen, but, because they travel at such different speeds (or one doesn’t exactly have a “speed” and one does, meaning beam/projectile), you have to vary the relationship between your inputs based on screen position.
Close (within s.L range): s.M+EMD f.H Does not require a dash.
cr.H Range: s.M, EMD, f.H, dash Time EMD and f.H very close together, but be sure to call Magneto first so that you have time to dash
s.M Max Range: s.M, f.H+EMD, dash Let the dash rock as long as possible to ensure an optimal conversion.
>s.M Max Range but <Full Screen: f.H, slight delay, EMD, plink dash x2 (into s.M)
Full Screen: f.H, delay, EMD, plink dash x3 (into s.M)
All of the above convert into s.MH Tools L, cr.Ms.H Tools L, cr.MS sj.MMHS. From there you can use a Jam Session extension and should be able to corner press to reliably L Zombie off of your ground bounce.
Damage within s.M range: ~1.113Mil (+~1.8bars)
Damage outside of s.M range: ~1.125Mil (+~1.7bars)
Both of those are post-Survival Techniques obviously, so you’re really building ~2.8 bars or so in the process.
It’s not as braindead as using Grapple (ahem Fizzykups ~_~), but it works and it’s worth incorporating the timings.
Got some new concepts up:
Veryyyy nice man
Has anyone ever compiled a list of which characters cr.H xx Tools of Survival L, link into cr.L works on? It’s a corner confirm I do that starts with the low, but I’ve never figured out who it does and doesn’t work on.
EDIT: Never mind, had some free time so I made the list myself.

Iron Man
She-Hulk
Doctor Strange
Doctor Doom
MODOK
Super-Skrull
Taskmaster
Against the characters it doesn’t work against, you can always either confirm into a Super, or Snap for another incoming mix-up.
I wasn’t aware he could do that to anyone without an assist. Usually thats a good way to stay safe and it can be confirmed into Shopping cart to whatever follow up you want.
I just spent like an hour testing it and edited the list into my post up there, but yeah during the incoming mix-up if I hit the opponent low my confirm usually goes:
cr.H xx Tools L, cr.LM st.H xx Tools L, cr.M st.HS, air MMHS, air tools L + Jam Session, st.S air S, air Tools L, Zombie Toss L, Tools M, Tools M, Super. I think it does about 900k before the super?

Waiiit wait wait lol…I had no idea that worked either lol. Veryyy nice work man, thanks for putting that list together! I’ve been using Tools L a lot more in blockstrings/neutral these days, so that confirm is really clutch.
I thought you meant at level 1. Thats why I was so confused. No surprise that it works with level 4.
Gotta specify with Frank :-p

Isn’t Tools L slightly - on block at level 1? I don’t generally end blockstrings with it in that case. Wouldn’t the way it pulls the opponent toward you give a free untechable throw?
Oh yeah my bad, I meant Level 4 haha. Yeah Tools L in Level 1 is, uh… pretty booty imo.
