Hmm, well the above 2 posts answered my first question of good nova assist uses for a leveled frank
My other question, though: I recall from a looong time ago that if nova is set to human rocket assist, during the initial levelup combo after power of the nova force xx whiffed survival techniques, there was a sequence involving the roundhouse sweep move that allowed for 2 pics instead of 1 meaning level 5 instead of 4. Since, as far as I know, wed much rather have Nova’s overhead assist, does a similar sequence with IT exist to snap 2 shots?
I’m perfectly satisfied with a lvl 4 frank but, hey, if lvl 5 is free for the taking w/o needing an otherwise shitty assist, it would be nice to know. thanks!
Edit: looking at sottle’s combo, I’m unable to picture it in my head and can’t test atm, but how is nova assist allowing for 3 tools Ms??
Since Nova’s Cent Rush M assist forces a ground bounce, a double picture’s as simple as calling Nova after the whiffed Survival Tools, taking a picture, and taking another one after during the ground bounce. Usually you want to stick a Tools M (or, if Nova used your wall bounce, a Roundhouse M) in there after Nova bounces them. To time it right you have to call Nova as soon as possible after the DHC and wait more or less as long as possible before the picture. It’s not bad, you just have to get the hang of how long you have to Snapshot before they recover.
For an example check out the first combo in this video.
Besides resetting Frank’s ground bounce (which is obviously really useful), you can also time Nova’s assist to hit right after Tools M finishes. If you do it right, he forces a ground bounce and preserves Frank’s wall bounce so you get to do a second (wall bounce) and third (flip out) Tools M into hyper. The timing is just to call Nova and immediately Tools M.
The first combo in this video uses that as its ender. (In case you look at the other combos, the timing on the Tools M wall bounce preserve and the Tools L ground bounce reset are actually the same because Tools L is active almost twice as long).
Wow thanks! Dunno which was more impressive, your quality or your speed. Thank you much for both!
My main frank team had been mag vergil frank, but tonight on a whim I went nova frank plasma, as novas probably my best point, and it was a frickin blast. I might try it w/ tatsu too if it allows frank to convert a max range sM, but even as is, felt very strong. This is just going to make it even better, thanks again!
Does anybody know to confirm from Jam Session from mid to top of the screen with level 1 Frank? I could’ve sworn I saw Bee do some crazy confirm where he jumped up, took a photo, X-Factored, took another photo, then did some business after that I’m not sure about… Would it be best to just jump up and Knee Drop, take a photo, and X-Factor from there?
It might be easier, yeah. And I remember what you’re talking about as well. I think it was one of two things: 1) he just looped j.MHS twice using a picture to stop the mini-launch Jam Session causes and xfactoring the Snapshot recovery or 2) he did Snapshot + Jam Session and because of height or distance had to xfactor in order to convert into a couple loops of j.MHS and then a followup combo.
But yeah, you could get basically the same result using a Kneedrop, you’d just have to account for the duration of Jam Session and the opponent’s position afterwards. If you know Jam Session’s duration really well that’s the easier option IMO.
I’m pretty sure the confirm he’s talking about wasn’t from superjump height. I could be wrong though.
j.M xx Tools L, S (wait to fall) xx Tools L, MM or MS (height dependant), land S is a Frank Super Jump confirm, whether or not it works with the additional little bit of HSD from Jam Session i’m not sure.
It’s probably already been discovered, but figured out you can confirm a super jump MHS into Tools L, Knee Drop, then continue from a normal jump Tools H. I got 16 hits in all, but I’m pretty sure there’s a way to soup up that number without relying on corner-distance specific Cart stuff.
Off of air MHS Tools L Knee Drop, after the Tools H they bounce out between M and H. Messed around with air MH Tools L xx Knee Drop, and that lets you get the air MMHS into cr.HS, then air series. Did air MMHS then Snapshot, it got me 19 hits, so I think I’mma have to add in the L’s.
Yeah, LLMMHS works after the relaunch still, gets 21 hits and easy as pie to extend with combos. With Dark Hole alone I got Level 4.
Are you using H. Arrows and are you running Nova as well? You can basically use H. Arrows as an extra ground bounce either after a sj.MMHS series or any of the Tools L loops into sj.MMHS series, but midscreen it’s one of those assists that you’re really going to want to do (land) (dash) (Call Task) j.Tools H instead of going straight to the j.Tools H after landing. IIRC it’s hitstun friendly, but at really high HSD, you might have to hit the j.Tools H pretty close to the ground to recover in time for a s.S. At really high HSD you’re also best off having a ground bounce still (so if you’re running Nova that’s great for this), so that you can do the s.S, sj.S, (falling) j.Tools H, but if you don’t you can knee drop down and do a regular finisher.
As far as relaunch assists go it’s solid, but unfortunately I don’t believe it’s one of the ones that lets you follow the j.Tools H with a Tools M (in cases where you don’t have a ground bounce). The hitstun from it just isn’t high enough.
Parabolic Arrows…I don’t know, but at some ranges it might let you do something with Object Toss as a starter? That’d take some pretty lucky timing probably. Vertical arrows…never used it, but does it cause a soft knockdown?
All I know is the THC with Frank and Task using H. Arrows lets you Snapshot at the end, haha.
Oh. Actually. If you corner carry with Taskmaster, and you get that thing I always get where you Charing Star and accidentally cross under them, you can launch, do MH xx Diagonal Arrows (away from the Corner), and time it so you DHC to Blue Light Special, get the wall bounce, and Snapshot from there. It takes some practice but it’s fun for when you get that stupid cross under.
I really hate crossing under as Taskmaster in the corner.
Hey guys whats the most optimal combo for Frank West at level 1/2? From searching around I found
cr.l M H Cr.H S j.M j.M j.H QCF H cr.L cr.M cr.H S j.M j.M j.H j.D+H call OTG Assist S j.H j.D+H [THC Camera Camera] or [Camera xx Tools of Survival]. I’m looking for a combo that works with frank west and wesker!
This took me a long time to make so there were gaps in filming and some footage was lost so there might be some gaps and I didn’t want to rerecord a bunch of stuff so I just released it. There are things like cart super confirms that are missing but holy fuck its 14 mins long be happy!
It’s kind of specific, but has anyone posted up combos post-Shopping Cart/Million Dollars THC? I’ve squeezed out a good amount but I can’t help but feel there’s more to be added. So far I’ve got…
[omfg hits] -> tag Frank in, THC (Blue Light Special + Million Dollars), Snapshot, Zombie Toss L, jump, Knee Drop, normal jump, air Tools of Survival H, Zombie Toss L, Roundhouse Kick M, [call Spencer + Tools Of Survival H, Roundhouse M,] Snapshot xx Survival Techniques
This is specific to my team of Spencer/Dante/Frank, but I’m wondering what else is out there. I know not all teams can afford to save the ground bounce for that post-THC combo, either, which means it might be a lot shorter.
An example of the aforementioned combo (32:49), though:

Just a quite thought before I run to class because I can’t help myself ~_~ There’s a timing with the million dollars THC that actually lets you s.S sj.S at stupid-high HSD. I haven’t messed with it a lot, but I think what you want is for the plasma ball at the end of Million Dollars to hit rightttt after the s.S (like really close), so that Frank superjumps, they stay put while the ball hits, and Frank sj.S’s from above with that amazing hitbox.
The timing makes it so that you can call Jam Session “sooner” (as in relation to # of hits and ground bounce usage) after Million Dollars. If you still have both assists available, you could probably: THC, s.S sj.S, (falling) sj.Tools H, (maybe Zombie?) Knee Drop, (Jam Session), j.Tools H, Kneedrop, j.Tools H, L Zombie, Roundhouse M, (Spencer), Tools H, Roundhouse M, Snapshot. I’d assume that’d do more damage? IIRC, s.S+sj.S is like 40k whereas that extra L Zombie you’re doing is prob more like 30-33k? You’d have to mess with it, though.
I’ve never done L Zombie into Knee Drop btw…how HSD-friendly is that? When you do it in the first instance, is the Zombie hitting them out of Million Dollars? Like if you do that, does Dante’s plasma ball connect after the Zombie? That’d be badass.
EDIT: Oops didn’t see the video, but I can’t watch it atm. Will later. Cheers boyo
Can someone help me with my Frank BnB? My current combo (below) gets him exactly 50 points for level 1-4 with no meter and Skrull Tenderizer assist (not sure if it works with Jam Session?). My problem is that it only works in the corner as the Knee Drop whiffs midscreen. Plungers push HS too high, and ending with j.S makes it difficult to time the double snapshot. How can I adjust it so I can retain the knee drop and still get 50 points? Thanks!
PS: I know there’s some new tech for Frank 1-4 meterless, but I play online a lot and I personally feel this relaunch is much more forgiving in terms of the input window with latency, so I’d rather stick to this if possible.
