allright… here are the pictures i have so far
i could get much work done this weekend cuz my uncle borrowed the powerdrill for “a couple hours on thursday” and havent give it back yet…
anywayz… here it is…
here are some pictures of the PCB wired to the terminals… terminals are divided into buttons… joystick… start/select… and the wires that go to the cable i had to cut them to make it fit throught the small hole in the case…
things to do:
paint box white…
do daisy chain
get me some rubber feet
MODIFY the artwork thats going to go inside… i switched to 6 buttons on top because i bought 4 i needed… two for start and select and two for the top cuz i only had 6 buttons but somehow the buttons came alot smaller… probably i didnt know how to order them i got the 24mm… thats why the start select buttons are smaller… i also have to arrange the start select on the layout to match the distance on box and also the x,square, triangle, O ,L1,L2 and the joystick little white circle…
i also gotta put JDM714 on the artwork cuz he was alot of help… and i mean… ALOT!!
allright… tomorrow ill post the final project… plz… i understand this is not the best stick ever… but its my first one… so if u got a negative comment to make… just keep it to yourself…
most players who play with opposite sides normally just cross there hands but some people can’t do that very well without moving or hitting there other hand i think wizard does it however.
well… there is two pieces of plexi… one is thick thats the bottom part where the joystick will be mounted on… tested it already and it fits perfectly…i put two pieces of plexi so the artwork is in the middle… that way i can change artwork really fast and dont have to glue anythin…
the layout is in FACT wrong in the artwork picture… JDM714 pointed it out on my first thread and i said i will pop SF4 into my ps3 and set the lay out from there… since on the emulators i can map the buttons how i want… but the real button layout is
L1, triangle, circle
L2, square, X
and yes i put the stick on the Right side because im right handed and i put the buttons on the left side…
how is playing with the joystick on the right hand side TRIPPY???
i mean just cuz u guys are left handers doesnt mean its trippy im a right handed player…
update… i think the right button lay out is
L1,square, triangle
L2, x, O
im not sure… i guess i will have to play SF4 again to see the right layout…
the thing is i have a notebook where i write notes and i did but scribble on top of it…
easy fix though
how is that…
i mean do right handed players WRITE with the PENCIL on their left hand… TRIPPY lol
do right handed players through a football with their LEFT hand… dont think so…
i am right handed and thats why i grab the stick with the hand i have more control with… with is my right hand… is like being right handed and jerkin off with ur left hand… feels weird aint it??? lol
ok let me explain a little bit about my background…
i grew up in mexico…
and over there the arcades are set up differently… or at least ALL the ones i saw growing up in Zamora, Michoacan… anyway the lay out was [ stick , buttons, buttons, stick] the start buttons would be above them… when i would play on the left side i would have to cross my hands… when i would play on the right side i will kick ass… so i will wait for someone to play first than i will put the money in so i would get the right side… otherwise i will always get first player and play crosshanded…
now ALL the arcades ive seen here in the US are [stick, buttons, stick , buttons] so im pretty sure all of you grew up like that and got used to it… i grew up differently and i got used to playing the other way… and its hard for me to play grabbin the stick with my left hand…
but just so u guys know… if the stick is on the left side… thats a left handed stick
if the stick is on the right… like mine… is a right handed stick…
jdm714… plz enlighten them further… lol
Well I’m right-handed and I play with the standard stick on the left. I mean what ever work for you is fine, but your whole theory on left handed/right handed arcade stick is wrong. Usually the movement command on a controller (whether playing on dpad for PS3 or with the wasd on pc) is always on the left side. I’m pretty sure most people agree with me.
yes u are right… pretty much everything is with the stick on left side… that is why i was forced to make my own project… honestly i didnt to it because i saw how kool ppl make their sticks… at first i was like i gotta make a box then i found this forum and saw what ppl can do with their sticks and that made me do mine that way
