as for striders damage I would watch the 3 videos I made on him, i already blew him up. But ya damage in this game is generally pretty much the same, everyone does pretty similar damage at the core level. Its just the way the system works, its very hard to to mathematically/problem solve ways to make any characters to substantially more or less period game is just stupid that way.
Yeah. I think itās better for keeping characters alive than Soul Stone.
Also, itās easier to utilize the invincible Storm activation, because you donāt have to worry about converting off of it, i.e. wasting it. Whereas with other Storms it feels real bad if you get combed during your Storm activation, here itās almost a relief since you have a use for that meter.
Also, whatās the real value off of Time/Power? While itās not as flashy, I think the meter will just be more efficient in creating opportunities and converting damage.
Mind is a storm purposely build around trading neutral strength for meter/power strength for the storm. The stone is pretty much built all around the storm so it requires a bit more team theory to put together, but with the semi infinite counter switching in the storm and how powerful some characters will get with that much meter, it will get pretty strong.
Time and power both have very strong surges that will get better when optimized. You have to respect pretty much anyone that knows how to use the surges for those stones as they can have you whiffing buttons in places you shouldnāt and then get comboed. Their storms can be run away from if you donāt have good combo setups or a character that has strong neutral stuff with the storm so it will take time to optimize the storms. Theyāre like the opposite of mind stone where people donāt want to use mind because of the surge that isnāt abuseable in neutral (plus having to pick install/oppressive super characters to maximize). On the other hand, people donāt always play power or time because they have storms that require setting up or team building to maximize.
I find reality hilarious as it is literally encouraged by the system to press your surge as often as possible and people complain about reality stone, reality stone, reality stone, reality stone, but really, weāre supposed to hear stone shit all the time. Itās one way to charge your storm faster.
Yeah thatās why surges with quick recovery are good with capture states. Land a combo into something that causes capture state, mash on time or space surge to get more storm meter. You can get like 7 or 8 space surges in during some capture states. Air mind surge has quick recovery so that would probably work too.
Yeah I started mashing space stone during dantes fire pillar āmixupsā charges the shit out of space stone and you can eat the whole thing. Been trying to get my charge on in Gamoras bullets too, going to do some testing because some āfierceā specials still get eaten by the stone armor. Has anyone been actively using perfect pushblock to gain advantage yet? Played a guy that was damn good at it, made it almost feel like I got him by a UMVC3 pushblock.
I try to pushblcok reflect projectiles sometimes, but havenāt messed with the perfect pushblock on attacks much yet. Thatās more of an anime reflex that Iāll have to start putting together. Plus thereās no video out yet with what that really punishes or makes less safe.
Plus there are characters like Jedah and Coon that have lockdowns that work as assists where perfect pushblock wonāt do anything any way.
Not that I know of. Iād have to travel the twitter verse which I donāt do where Iām sure thereās some Japanese guy who has explained with someone who has translated. The Japanese always find alien tech.
Some Hypers set a flag that says āhit stun canāt fall below a certain amount until this Hyper is overā in order to keep characters from falling out in the middle of the Hyper. The actual glitch seems to be that if hit stun was ALREADY below that amount when the Hyper started, the game forgets to clear the flag when the Hyper ends, and instead only clears it when the whole combo is over.
Thatās all just based on observation of the glitchās behavior. Probably wonāt get a better explanation than that without seeing the gameās source code.
He is very good in this game (Strider is always very solid in all the Marvel games) but heās just outside of those 4 you mentioned above. They are definitely stronger.
Ease of use? Check.
Teleports? Check.
Sword Normals? Check.
Decent health? Check.
4 supers all with their own uses? Check.
Fast, pixie shit and his own assists? Check.
Striders teleport is pretty ass this time around. Most of his specials got nerfed too.
However his normals has gotten way better even though they were always good. He feels more like mvc1 Strider than his mvc2 (Strider/Doom) and umvc3 counterpart (xf3).
I think heās up there in the tier list. Strider like Zero will never be bad in a marvel game.
He has some trouble opening up the opponent (just like mvc1). Thatās why I think itās most important to master his low jump hp/hk. Itās almost like his umvc3 instant overhead.
