MvCI Meta and Tier Discussion

Those are good candidates. I think Morrigan is up there too because she has pretty fast start up shadow blade and invincible level 1 to sit on at the start. Rocket is a good candidate too because Sonicfox gets a million miles off start of round c.HK Star Trek gun into tag in Jedah start the boulder effect.

Dante should be on that list.

Coon is slept on as point, 4 frame jab, c.HK even my scrubby ass gets mileage off of these tools.
Oh any videos on how to best punish Carol Danvers irritating as tackle thing?

Dante is number one in everything.

Yo, I’ve been considering using Soul stone just because it can revive a dead character. I think the surge is generally good for most of the cast, but if your team can’t be effective during the storm, is it still worth it?

It’s hard to think of a team that can’t make soul storm good. You get to control 2 characters at either the same or different times to create some hyper ridiculous situations and pressure if your execution is good enough.

You should see the replies to this on Reddit.

I mean, I actually posted articles from Maj and Seth (Dom101) on a reply to one of the replies, and suffice to say, I never thought I’d see people react that way to them.

Time stone surge is def not 2 frame start. Its 8 frame start and vulnerable then a ton of invul with 9 frame recovery.

As for the surge gimmicks they are good but you can also just hold a direction plus hp and throw without needing to guess incoming side. If held it comes out frame 1 and is not techable or jumpable on incoming. Its a true punish, if you play spidey or rocket you can just hold jab at the flash instead and beat the incoming hit or put them in block stun. Tool assisted already has some frame data for these if you are interested check his twitter.

Ok this makes a hell of a lot more sense. I was getting hit out of time surge all day long so I knew it couldn’t be invulnerable on frame 2. 8 frames definitely soumds more like the real number.

9 frame recovery also seems much more plausible than the 30 frames or so someone said.

My question is if some of that recovery time is cancelable, because time surge x2 seems super effective whereas time surge>normal not so much.

People don’t want to be rebuked with a link to an article. That requires reading. I missed the days when hardcore meant you
already knew this shit and everything else was redundant hogwash. I was on the broken shit train early on and I think a lot of
the early hardcore arcade heads were. It’s how we saved money and stayed on the machine LOL

Those also happened to be the days when you had to actually hand to hand write a developer to complain about broken shit.
Most people that played were kids and who wants to spend their quarters on stamps or spoke Japanese?

Okay so I’ve been in the lab. Time surge is fast enough to go through rapid fire jabs, but it’s recovery gets caught on the other side, however it’s recovery can be cancelled into Time storm which leaves you safe and able to punish, you even have a good 30f of invincibility after the Time storm activation to Lv.3 or do whatever you please. So you are definitely more of a threat with 50%+ infinity meter with Time stone than you are without, but it’s base uses are obvious and not as tragic as some people make it out to be.

Arthur and Nova are High Tier for sure in this game.

Also, what is the problem with Megaman X in this game? I have seen complaining that he sucks or that he isn’t what he is supposed to be.

Toolset wise, Capcom could have given him many other things…but what Megaman X does have in this game is extremely good and works very well.

Is the problem with Megaman X that he is actually very hard and complex to play? Because he is looking good as in High Tier good to me and a billion times better than OG Megaman.

What’s the problem?

All Megaman characters (Megaman X, Zero, Sigma) are super good and useful in this.

He’s not horrible but hes out classed in the ā€œput stuff on the screenā€ game by someone like Dorm. Also Stubby normals means he’s not making a whole lot of stray conversions like the sword guys. Armor up is a big saving grace, fast charge lvl2/3 busters are non reflectance and can pressure the hell out of someone like so

But now you’re spending bars just to be viable.

Seems like alot of people bounced him before trying to develop him. Like im always trying to lab up boomerang lockdown situations intp tag mixups and they can hold their weight with the current meta. I’d still admit there are better characters to pick up for easier wins.

@MegamanSteve

Is this still in?

Nope, never was in released version, only demo.

son of a bitch thats why you dont show shizz before it gets released.

Spoiler

thank god i dont want to deal with that shit

What’s the air dash tech?

Definitely.

Megaman X is one of the hardest characters to play well in this game but he doesn’t suck at all.

He’s pretty mediocre there’s no real reason to play him other than being a megaman fan. I think he needs a rework.

The only rework he needs is reverting back whatever changed from the demo build.
