MVCI Bar and Lounge: Maximum Carnage Xmas Special

DBFZ is out today yah? Does it come out on PC? Ahh tomorrow. Think I’ll wait to see more gameplay videos. I’ll probably get it for shits and giggles though. Only characters I’m interested in so far is the Buus.

Says before I says again:

The X-Men not being in the game was not a license issue. Marvel specifically wanted an MCU focused roster. There was nothing technically stopping them from adding any Marvel character. This isn’t a Disney Interactive game or even a directly licensed game of the MCU movies.

Except it was, but indirectly and due to the reason you stated ironically enough. You’re right, they easily could’ve just used the X-Men, as they had for Marvel 3. But between wanted a MCU advertisement, and NOT wanting to advertise the X-Men to give Fox more views, they made sure to exclude them. Getting the rights back would mean the possibility of the X-Men in the MCU and thus the X-Men in MvCI.

So in a vacuum, you’re right, the rights meant absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. But with any sense of context, it shows that the X-Men were left out as part of Marvel’s growing initiative to marginalize the X-Men, due solely to not having their movie rights. Having them back, means Marvel no longer has any reason to do such a thing, and thus the possibility of the X-Men returning to MvC down the line is there.

Except we’d have to wait for actual MCU X-Men movies in that case, since an inked deal alone doesn’t mean X-Men DLC won’t be free exposure to FoX-Men.

So if your assessment is true, that’s reason to withhold X-Men until exposure leads them back to a Disney produced movie or TV show, neither of which is happening this or next year (Fox has FOUR movies coming in their universe still).

One word. Anticipation. Marvel has no reason to care how much exposure Fox gets now, because ultimately the license and all the hype will be coming back home to them.

If the Fox movies suck, Marvel gets to say how much better they’re gonna do them. If they end up good, it just serves the hype of future X-Men projects under their own banner. Just gives more reason to start advertising them now.

Who should I use in the new DBZ fighter? They all look the same.

Use whoever Yipes decides to shill

Lol there was a guy on a stream a couple days ago that was saying this. That person said dbzf characters all looked and played the same.

I feel the same. There are a few characters I like, but most of them feel like clones.

Im torn on getting DBZ for now. Mainly because I barely have time for MvCI. Since PC’s player will fall on MvCI for a bit since it just came out I might
get it just to have something to play people against during my irresponsible adult time.

Part of the collections are character such as Black Panther, Black Widow, Dr Strange, q

Dude are you still having input lag problems on your PC? I was thinking, Qanba have their own PCB, as do Madcatz, but Madcatz Xbox 360 sticks are still compatible with Windows, the PS3 sticks aren’t. Maybe one of your friends has an old 360 TE you could try to see if it’s better, as I’m sure you could pick up a 360 TE for $50.

Actually I’m doing pretty good now. Made some adjustments on the “Big Picture” mode and now I’m nailing combos Iused to never be able to hit. Feeling good. Granted it’s like I was playing a different game for months.

Alive Game vs Dead Game

Just released it BETTER have better numbers. If Marvel did most of the things right marketing wise people felt really burned by Marvels BS as it’s not brand spankin new. I’m talking about MvC3, despite peoples fond memories the game didn’t actually do that well over all and neither did MvC2.

As far as todays players I’m one of the mighty 35! I’m really curious how many DBZ fan boys stay on after the FGC heads murder them since you know that’s 75% of those playing. No matter to me though
as I play games that make all fighters look “dead.” Gimme comp and I’m good to go and lucky me I don’t have problems catchin the mighty 35 on steam LOL

No shit lol. Game barely came out and we all knew the pre-hype. Plus it’s played by like 90% of gamers who don’t even play fighters normally. We’ll see what happens when the game has been out for at least 5 months. Sfv had more viewers last night towards the end, yes that’s because it was evo Japan but also Maximilian was streaming dbzf for like 20,000 people, but if he streams MKX mkx would have more viewers than any other fighter except sfv. Time will tell.

No one post on these forums except those who enjoy the strengths of MvCI. Some of those strengths overlap with DBFZ and some do not. I never said DBFZ is a bad game or doesn’t deserve to be successful. However, many of the characters have a similarity about them that makes them less interesting than MVCI characters to me.

Got bored of DBFZ already, and the charity group I rep every so often are running MVCI ranbats on Tuesday nights. Somehow I’m ranked #1 right now which is the first time I’ve been doing well in Mahvel anything, random anime cons included, so I’m on this boat a while longer.

Hawkeye/Sigma Power is my guy for now, but it’s still fun to go with Ryu/Chun Time every now and again. I’m gonna be managing a lot of games this season but I just had a FT10 with someone in the MVCI Discord and I had a blast even though I lost.

I saw Capcom released another patch last week so it’s nice to know the lights aren’t completely off. I don’t know why people are saying Capcom should abandon MVCI and that would be “smart.” That is like the epitome of bad business to abandon an IP with a huge license behind it after 4 months. That and when the patch came out the guy didn’t sound like it was gonna be the end.

Glad the lights are back on SRK guys.

Hecatom is like the guy who has a hot new girl to f*ck, but still manages to find time to razz his old friend who’s jacking it to porn on a dial up connection. I mean, really, good for you and all, but don’t you have somewhere better to be?

TBH I’m in the same position. I’ll probably get it and this game is simple enough that I should be able to take xenokiddies heads after 5 mins in training, but inertia and the suspicion that nothing in the game will be half as fun or rewarding as nailing people from across the screen with j.HKxx air crossbow x3 into full combo are stopping me.

To be honest though, you really can’t know the depth of the game in the first few months. DBFZ will have its time to develop.

I bought both games. I admit I enjoy MvCi more, probably because it feels more like a marvel game. And @Hecatom I told you it would happen long ago, the game was doomed to being niche, but weren’t niche games your thing? Buy the game and lab it with WS. Most fun character I’ve been labbing since sentinel and magneto.

His Jump cancel stance LK is looking really strong. It pretty much negates zoning while giving him full screen confirms into big damage. I forgot what I saw Bum doing to counter the stance though. He activated super then tagged to keep WS in stance and hit him low right?

Capcom can bring itself back by doing smart things btw. Hire a good art director. Change the UI to be more fun. Make the announcer sound like they are actually having fun with it like MvC2 (“The battle for survival begins…”), re-brand the game as a sequel or some shit to justify advertising budget, apologize to us, bring back x-men, delete the music and hire my nigga Tetsuya Shibata, and simply develop all of the characters from the leak (which i think is 100% legit because he’s been right about basically everything else) and its sure to make people happy enough for the game to have a mainstream following. If not I still have 5 people to play it with so its whatever.

Damn I think Steams MVCI got hit with the Coup de Grace’ once DBFZ dropped. First time I ever sat for almost an hour in practice mode
with match find on and learned a new combo or two before ANYONE joined. It was cool to lab but damn. I knew it was coming
but daaaaaaaaaaamn.

Sighs in Otaku
