MvC3: You are Defeated: The Magneto Combo Thread

You sure? Looks damn legit to me. /dumbassness.

Oh SHITTTT. It’s MAHVEL 2 BABY!
My favorite part of the infinite is how the combo counter keeps counting up.

magneto does have a real infinite in this game though. i would reveal it but knowing how Eighting works, they would fix it by ruining his legit bnbs lmao.

You’re the dumbass if you don’t know how to get out of it.

so true…

So what combo should a Mags player first learn? And also is Dantes OTG assist fast enough to extend Mags’ combos? Thanks

learn fly/unfly loops if you already know your basic bnb wth magnus.

this is my corner combo with a dr. doom hidden missles assist

cr.L, cr.M, cr.H, S, [sj.H->ADF->sj.H xx L magnetic blast, land, s.H xx L hyper grav.]x2, call doom, S, sj.M, sj.H->ADF-> sj.H, sj.S, missles hit a little bit after you land, s.H xx L hyper grav., s.H xx H EM disruptor xx Gravity Squeeze, dash in S, sj.S

*can transtion into hyper grav. loop after magnetic blasts loops
*finish with magnetic tempest after last hyper grav. if you wont have enough meter for lvl 3
*builds almost 2 meters before the hyper
*can finish with magnetic shockwave after S, sj.S if youre fast enough, you can also call your other assist right before you hit S for more hits
*over 1 million with lvl 3 ending, ~610,000 with no hyper, not sure how much with magnetic tempest ending

But what is the basic Magneto bnb?

shameless plug but has tutorials for basic BnB

Thanks alot, this helped tons. I have the Hyper grav loop down finally, still having some trouble with the ghetto rom loop. MegmanDS’s tutorial is in the corner, doesn’t that make it easier? Or should it be the same?

Hypergrav loops is fun, does anyone know the absolute max for the amount of reps? I can’t pass 6 atm.

Hype to get the Rom down.

for rom i can’t get a super jump for the up back. am i inputting it too early?

I wanted to ask something about the rom, because I’ve been sj-ing up forward rather than up back does it make a difference.

And I think you have too delay it slightly only slightly.

I notice most magnetos like Yipes and MarlinPie do J.M during the rom after every 2 or so J.H’s, anyone know why or have a full notation as to where and why?

its mainly cause its quicker then j.H so helps compensate for when your timing is a little off

its better to jump back you can get more reps out of it jumping up back

Ok found my problem with the hyper grav loop. I wasn’t super jumping high enough before coming back down so it didn’t give enough time for the opponent to follow mag up a little.

As for people with rom loop trouble, get 1 loop down first, then the rest becomes easy with repetition. After sjb.H, addf.H, LAND, sjb.H addf.H. The inputs are actually not that fast, but more of a rhythm.

Thats not true. Honestly, I think you can super jump any 3 directions (u/b, u, or u/f) while hitting the j.H on the way up. I do super jump u/b on the P1 side, and super jump straight up on the P2 side. However, I think you HAVE to Air Dash down/forward for the j.H on the way down, unless youre in the corner then you can do super jump straight up and Air Dash down if you have the timing down because its a bit different if you dont use the Air Dash d/f j.H.

Yup. NOT counting the launch and height setup. That tapping rhythm was stuck in my head for like two weeks while I was learning this damn thing.

I will also add, that you REEEALLY have to let the joy stick go to neutral before doing the super jump. My hand literally comes off of the joy stick after the ADD/F j.H before I do the next super jump.

qft.

Does the rhythm get faster and faster as you do more reps or exactly the same as you get to doing the later reps? Most I’ve gotten so far is about 5 or 6.

Everyone is saying the setup for the height is the most important. Does a good setup mean you should be able to get all 7 reps whereas a bad one won’t let you do the whole thing? Or a bad one just won’t let you do it at all.

For the height setup, the longer you wait to hit the first sjH, the higher the following reps will be, is that optimal?

I think my problem is the opponent’s height decreases a tiny bit with each rep and eventually on one of my jumps the sjH goes over their head and whiffs.

Two bits on ROM loop:
One - if youve ever played SFA3, CVS2, or even mugen - think A-groove (custom combo) charlie / guile. I’ve found that the easiest thing is performing the sj.:h: as an uncharged flash kick.

Two - Rom loop can usually be done 3 or so reps even if youre just going straight up and straight down. The ADDF helps stabalize the enemy’s height. if they’re still dropping, tighten your timing slightly.
I’ve been grinding this damned combo for weeks, I finally almost have it down.
