Has anyone seen this version of the HyperGrav Loop?? Mike INfinite is coming down with j.M. I wonder if this is easier to perform or not. Because I know j.M pushes the opponent up a little bit.

And if the Time isnt working its at 5 min and 19 seconds
I’ve added this to the first post. I’m in the middle of adding the notations he put at the end of video into the first post as well but busy with work atm.
It’s a good video to show how every combo can lead into one of Magneto’s key loops. I did like that double fly combo and the midscreen Hyper Gravitation loop. I recall someone mentioning that Hyper Gravitation can be combo’d from midscreen but didn’t know it could be looped like that and while not necessary since rom puts them in the corner it’s still a good combo to have.
All combos from that new combo video have been transcribed and added to the first post.
I haven’t seen this version of the Hyper Gravitation loop. It looks like he’s IADF with j.M, j.H. I would think it would scale the damage even further and reduce the number of reps done due to hit stun decay. It might be a good alternative against characters where the loop is harder to do due to large or small hit boxes. I know I can’t do the loop worth shit against Sentinel and Wolverine but if this version makes it easier to get the loop going then I’d rather go for consistency.
I find I’m having little trouble setting up the ROM with ADDF + H (I’m seeing H hit the feet and the opponent has good height), but get a normal jump 90% of the time when I try to start the reps.
Have tried going neutral and the input history makes it look like I’m SJ’ing, but either it’s a normal jump or when it’s an SJ it’s too late.
Is there a trick to the timing here? Do you try to SJ the second you land after ADDF or is there a delay I’m missing?
There’s a small mistake in the OP post about midscreen Hypergrav loop (combo 12), it should be like this:
cr.L cr.M cr.H [S, j.H addf j.H land, walk a small bit **(this is extremely important, this small step is what allows st.H to hit like it does)**, st.H xx Hypergrav] Repeat brackets.
I used to think it was pretty hard, but when I looked at the inputs, I saw the small :f: symbol, and then everything made sense, now its pretty easy to do. You wont get the loop if you dont take that tiny step forward.
Id say this is 100% worth learning if you have characters to DHC trick into. One of mags problems was his inability to get DHc trick midscreen, now he can do it. so gdlk
EDIT: oh yeah, another thing, the input for hypergrav, should be done normally, not reversed, even though magneto is facing the other way.
lol okay this is going to be the last question about ROM timing as I getting tired of it as well.
Yes there is a specific “trick” to the timing, but you have to pay attention to this to get it right;
Since you know all about the ROM, the timing for the initial super jump is actually pretty easy. Super jump as soon as you Magnus’ feet touch the ground and press H at the same time.
Another thing to help is to remember how VHonda or AGroove Guile used to work back in alpha3/cvs2 and how the controls would be changed slightly to do the custom combos, like so:
V-ism/A Groove command for buttsplash/flash kick; :db::uf::hk:.
Now take that and apply it to Magneto in MvC3 and you should be doing it like this:
[This method shown assumes you are using Default Type ?]
:s::df::ub::h:[make sure you leave stick in neutral here or you’ll keep getting a normal jump]:l::df::df::ub::h:
Take note at the part where you AirDashDownForward. Looks just like the A Groove method doesn’t it? Now here comes the hard parts:
1.Practice it until you can get the timing right,
2.produce video showing awesome setup,
3.Profit.
Make sure to watch the very end. He shows an example of an effective method to air dash down foward and get the j.H to come out on the first possible frame. Hope this helps.
I assume every player moves at their own pace, but I was wondering how long do ya’ll think it takes for the average player (not hopeless, but no extraordinary talent) who has never played versus games to learn how to do the rom loop or the magnetic blast loop?
this helped me out a ton. i’ve been having trouble doing the loop for awhile. the key for me was to get the j.H to come out as soon as it possibly can. rolling the buttons is a pretty easy way to do this.
i was like you a couple months ago when the game came out. so pringles and my mustache was almost always curly, but after looking at several videos and practicing each loop with serious repetition, I was able to do each combo consistently.
so to answer your question; it’s going to take you some time before performing each loop consistently to the point where you can make your own setups into each combo.
Thanks for posting that video. That one really helped.
However, the ONLY problem I have is getting that the Hyper Grav. after the standing H. (I’m referring to the standing H of the loop, not the start up).
Any suggestions? According to the video and what I’m doing, I can’t seem to get the other character high enough so the hyper grav can connect.
I was having the same problem. You need to do Dash Down Foward and do the j.H asap, or quicker than you have been doing it. I noticed when i turned on turbo for H i was able to do it every time. Try this: Dash using L and M. and kinda plink H or roll your fingers so H comes out right after the L+M dash. Watch the ending of that tutorial i posted it gives an example of what im talking about. Hope this sovles your problem
I have estimated about 4 days, 7 hours, 37 minutes. Given the vague descriptions, I’d say the seconds lie between 20-40.
Seriously, how can anyone even answer that. Just practice it, watch videos to see what you’re doing wrong, where the character falls out, if you’re too fast/slow, etc…
There’s 2 things I think that you could be doing wrong. One problem could be you are addf/add-ing too quickly after you sj.ub/u and the opponent isn’t being pulled up enough(hyper grav follows magneto) leaving the opponent too low for you to connect the next hyper grav after s.H.
Or, if you do have the sj timing down, then you are probably just hitting the s.H too slow or doing the hyper grav after it too slow.
What’s a good BnB for online matches? I just started playing online again after a few weeks of being too lazy to renew Live and found that I couldn’t do any of the combos I’ve been practicing in offline play.
