The best way to make a .gif is to upload a video into photoshop and just save the bit you want as a .gif
Against keep-aways: Gong
Being a keep-away: Pendulum or Gong depending who I’m up against.
is there any reason it took this long for her to appear in a crossover game?
You’d have to ask Capcom that.
That’s a good question, I’m not sure either.
after all wouldn’t it of made more sense to put her in a crossover when darkstalkers was still on the rise
There really wasn’t such a thing as crossover games when Darkstalkers was “on the rise” (the final DS was released in 1997).
Well technically she already appeared in a crossover game if you wanna count Gen Fighter as a crossover.
As for for weaknesses she will probably end up getting “bitch” stamina aka “Your a girl? You automatically get low health unless you take roids [She-Hulk] or riding some big ass mecha [Tron].” Rarely do Capcom females get any decent or at least average stamina. The whole “slow” thing doesn’t bother me at all with all the moves she can use to get in on people such as Pendumlum Swing and my favorite normal her crouching heavy [which I assume is the saw blades]. That will help her a lot connect with her launcher, because hell some characters have difficult doing basic ground magic series into launch. Magneto can’t do it like he used to and has to end it early in order to secure a launch. Same for Storm. At least with Hsien KO’s crouching heavy moving her foward, it be easy for her to secure a launch.
Side-note: I love Hsien Ko’s KFC animation. Pretty sure it was one of Hsien Ko’s old victory poses back in her DS days. Even Lin Lin appears on her shoulder during it.
Looking at the videos she really doesn’t seem that bad off health-wise.
And yeah, that used to be her victory pose. I liked it better when all her objects would slide out of her sleeves and she and her sister would look down at 'em like “Ummm…” would always make me lol.
what i mean by that is
put her in a crossover while people can still remember darkstalkers without having to think too hard
its because vs games are primarily directed at the american market, and DS is simply NOT popular in america, and even further, hsienko is not a popular character from the series like morrigan
Agree with all of this. I expect her to have below average (but not horrible) stamina and below average (but not horrible) damage output, but her tools to be abusable enough to make up the difference.
I was surprised that her launcher (c.HK in Vsav, IIRC) seemed to connect as easily as it did in the reveal footage, as I recall that having really poor horizontal range in the older games.
That is what I thought too. But her crouching heavy puts her deep inside for the launch to be secure or at least some sort of hit-confirm thing. Her c. HK was HORRENDOUS in VS. But I think it was given more horizontal reach in MvC3. IIRC the animation in darkstalker, her pants wasn’t part of the hit box and it was actually only her shoes.
When I see a lot of early footage of players trying to do basic magic series it looks really freaking hard, but I think since most people are still in that “MvC2” mindset that magic series is SUPPOSED to connect. Pretty sure once people get their hands on this game, people can then figure out what can be used for the basic ground magic series into launch. Seeing Magneto/Storm and others missing their launch because they got greedy trying to input extra buttons before going to launch.
hsien ko’s english VA is a moron, they should have gotten a chinese girl to do it. Every time i hear her english VA mangle a chinese word i want to kill kittens
Yeah sweep (c.hp) cancelling into launcher makes the fact that they gave her that terrible c.hk as a launcher bearable. I’m really interested to see what kind of advantage her supers give her, because they both seem to recover while they’re out on the screen. I hope you can keep pressure on with tenraiha, that would be sick.
On the one hand, you have this problem, and then on the other hand, you have problems like Cammy’s Japanese VA in SF4.
Thats an awesome looking te
At least it’s equal opportunity to mangle Chinese words. Her Japanese VA does it too. But overall her Japanese voice sounds more mellow. The English one is trying way too hard.
Pretty much. It’s not bad per se, but it seems she’s trying way too hard to sound cute.
Hopefully the JP voice is better.
