anyways, i like that wolverine is so broken, makes this game feel really nostalgic. however, phoenix is just dumb. i dont like the way the character plays, but oh well. not like capcoms gonna take her out of the game or anything :lol:
I think x-factor, rather than phoenix was the problem. It all came down to wolverine and x-factor 1 kill combos. Phoenix doesn’t need a patch x-factor does.
It was really the fact that Wong wasn’t always able to kill Phoenix after the snapback. If she blocks ANYTHING then you just wasted meter. The rest of it was Tokido beating Wong to the punch. Honestly though, MvC2 had matches like that too, so it doesn’t bother me much. If they do decide to nerf Phoenix all they need to do is remove the homing projectile. This game doesn’t let you build meter by wiffing anything (unlike 2), so it’s like she almost guaranteed to build meter while everyone else has to do it the hard way. If it’s not homing, the most she can do is stall for time, not do both, which seems more fair. Anyway I’m sure things will end up bein different for Wong at other tournaments Wolverine vs Wolverine is roll of the dice, some you win, some you lose…

Killing a character with a level 1 X-factor isn’t the point, it’s Wolverine. He has way too many safe options and almost unblockable (and unblockable) mix ups. So it’s not just “Herp Derp I XF and kill your guy LOL!” It’s “Herp Derp your dead, and now deal with this 50/50 or unblockable and lose your second guy fraaaay”.
It’s a Wolverine special. Almost no other character can take advantage of level 1 X-factor like Wolverine can, which is why they all abuse that shit.

this is the first major where phx/wolverine have looked REALLLLLY gross so calling for a ban seems premature. is anything going to change? probably not, but it’s still too early.
