Yea some of the “commentary” at guard crush made me mute the stream but overall it was a nice stream. Didn’t finish watching it cause smooth viper was just driving me crazy, but Im re-watching it right now and its getting real good. Props to chris G for not only using ryu, but actually winning with him, I definitely didn’t see that coming. Makes you wonder if there are actually any flat out terrible characters in this game.
How can you play Marvel and complain about shit talk? It’s the reason this game is even out now. Shit talk creates hype. Marvel is hype.
If there are any flat out terrible characters you can throw them in X Factor LVL 3 and they’re automatically at least mid tier. Ryu’s air L hurricane is like plus 23 on block so he gets to move for a long time before you do anytime he forces you to block one which is strong for his pressure. On my low tier team I throw him in the back and just stock up 4 or 5 meters and just blast everything with Shinkuu level 3 XF Ryu.
Im not sure if this is directed at me, but I wasn’t complaining bout shit talk, I love the shit talk, it keeps the matches interesting. What I hated bout the commentary was the constant bitching and moaning, “this game is so scrubby” “dark phoenix is mad cheap” “x-factor makes everyone God like” “ammy is mad cheap cause of one button combos” “I don’t respect any wins with dark phoenix” all that bullshit.
The last straw for me was definitely when the dudes starting complaining bout the tron and haggar assist, talking bout how all assists in the game should have their invincibility, Im thinking are these dudes actually being serious right now? I mean I know henry chen is glorified troll, so the moment he starts speaking i tune out, but I was unaware smooth viper was so proficient at talking out his ass.
Not sure why people thought ryu sucked to begin with. I think he’s fine, not as good as akuma but def has potential. Has high HP and damaging combos, decent hypers. l.tatsu is win, too.
Ryu stocked with 4 or 5 meters is a big threat. Only character with a beam that big that he can call in any direction. Pretty much just dont even put an assist on the screen if he has that much meter.
I never thought he was completely ass, I just thought the only thing he had going for him was the hyper, and chris G proved me wrong.
Shit talking isn’t the problem. People being a bunch of pansies these days is. Not everything in FG (and in life in general) is one gigantic group hug. Smoothviper talks and tries to get into peoples heads and I would say for the most part it works because he sure as hell gets into the heads of people on these boards who are simply watching the stream. If you ignore him he will simply look like a jackass but if you acknowledge him (or anyone like this in general) then you are giving in just like they want you to.
Nah, not at all. It was mainly at the guy complaining about Smooth. The stream chat was getting ridiculous too. I normally hate when people bitch about new players but these MvC3 only people need to learn that shit talk is a major part of Marvel.
