Spidey can utilize missiles but its better used against people like wolverine, where you want to keep them at bay with web balls web throws and follow behind missiles with web zip.

Guys I have to say Shuma Gorath, Doom with Spidey on point is fucking broken. Mystic ray itself is a good assist plus it gives you that extra webthrow in combos along with the other webthrows from hidden missile. Shuma can also ground DHC from maximum spider.

thats a combo team though you pretty much are playing a solo spidey shuma and doom.

I’d agree. What have you guys found in terms of “setup” teams?

Right now, I’m rocking Spidey/IM (unibeam)/ X-23 (ankle slice), and Spidey/Tron (Gustaff)/ X-23 (ankle slice) for matches against faster characters.

Unibeam really frees up Spidey, and allows him to get his midscreen left/right mixups going. It keeps the opponent in one place for a pretty long time. Can also get big DHC damage from combo web throw, TK MS DHC Proton Cannon. Currently maxing out around 960k for two bars when the combo builds about 1.7 iirc.

I switch to Gustaff to temper the speed of the Magneto’s and Wolverines, and to make them respect the rush at a little closer range too. Can also get massive damage of a BnB and DHC to Tron, killing anyone in the game for 3 bars (the combo builds 1.6 bars iirc).

X-23 is there for the OTG’s, getting something off air throw in the corner, and unblockables. Also gonna throw in that little midscreen unblockable from your new video Xero - great stuff btw.

I’d put up some of the vids of me on youtube, but they’re ass tbh. I feel like I’m getting better with Spidey everyday. Want to surprise a bunch of people :stuck_out_tongue:

I was gonna put more vids dealing with midscreen unblockables but didnt have time. Glad you like. Best part about it though is its hella fast and crosses up so you really have options with it.

Hi guys I’m really new here, and I’ve been practicing Spidey since day 1 because he’s my childhood hero, and so, i’ve went through several characters that I like that can work with spidey and heres my Team i’m liking so far.

Spidey(Web Ball)/ Wesker(OTG Gun)/ Ammy( Cold Star)

What’s your opinion? I find Cold Star really useful so far for locking down the opponent, and Wesker can also benefit from this after Cold Star by using teleport to get behind enemy. I just like your opinion, criticism is accepted. Thank youu!

EDIT: Oh, and I haven’t tested this out but I think they all can DHC perfectly,

I disagree, mystic ray is actually a decent assist. Watch how p gorath uses it

its nothing special except to catch someone not paying attention. It’s start up is slow enough for someone to miss it when the screen shifts and it does cover a good chunk of the screen but outside of that it doesnt stop much as far as beams go and its really only a combo extender. If you have an actual go to assist with this team then yes its the assist you would want Spidey to have but if not I’d look for a better assist to apply to multiple situations.

Xero I usually respect your opinion but seriously you got to be smoking something if you think mystic ray assist is only a combo extender. Like I said watch some vids on P Gorath and your opinion will change.

IMO it adds to Spidey’s mixup game because of cross ups.

I been seen his vids. The assist like I said catches people slipping due to how slow it is in its start up and covers a wide range of the field, well anything in front of him, but its start up and Spideys speed dont match up so the call would have to be preemptive. Also the only thing it did for him was start up a combo after a crossup or extend it. Look at how he used it he kept hiding it by moving around the screen like I said earlier.

Yeah well each to their own. I don’t know if you’re theory fighting or have actually tried it but I find mystic ray one of the best assists in the game for me atm. Find it interupts a lot of my opponents shit and also gives mixups. not to add to the fact that it adds and extra 300,000 damage to my spidey combos.

“main team” is Spidey[swing]/Doom[missiles]/X23[ankle], it’s decent. I like killing an opponent with web throw as the last attack - it gives me enough time to switch to X23 and start up Dirt Nap for great justice.

A second team I have been working on that also seems to be doing really well is Spidey[swing]/Wesker[gunshot]/Storm[whirlwind]
It can function extremely well with or without Spidey.
It does huge damage (without web throw!) with the team in Spidey/Wesker/Storm order due to an interesting trick I found. Basically it involves the properties of spiderman’s spider sting. That’s the main great thing about Spidey on the team - his mobility allows me to score a hit, and then if my whole team is alive, big damage. If I’m missing a piece, I’ll still have either an easy Spidey combo into a DHC for Storm, or an easy Spidey combo into either a reset with Wesker providing a low hit or an extended combo OTG. If I’m missing Spiderman, well, Storm and Wesker already function well together imo.

No I theory fight and then test it. I picked Shuma up day of and tested him. Just like hidden missiles if your opponent is aware of them they stop doing what they are doing. Only difference in this situation is Spidey cant go through an opponent like Wolverine. It’s a decent assist for what it covers but it’s delay in start up is both a strength and weakness depending on how you are applying it. I’m not saying drop him I’m saying its applications are limited. Now given your team it is a strong assist for Doom when zoning his way in.

j.H+ Shuma, L Photon Array, wave dash in, or just general keep away with missiles and Shuma. It’s different then

Speaking as someone who uses Spidey/Doom/Shuma (and is probably the reason that guy said that) I can say that Shuma’s assist does not help Spidey except for combos(p gorath uses it with Wolverine’s crossup slash), but it DOES help Doom a lot. It’s so hard to get in on Doom when he has a full-screen stopper going on in addition to all his projectiles.

The way that team works is you kill nearly any character just from one opening, then you try to go for it again, and if Spidey dies then you can play keepaway with Doom, hopefully against their anchor. Doom’s goal is to run out their x-factor. If Doom dies, you’ve got Shuma, one of the best anchors in the game. It’s not just a gimmick team. You can also swing over them to keep Doom safe for his hidden missiles, making the assist much more viable.

Oh I already know how much Shuma can help Doom out. Doom’s jump cancels plus Shuma assist are the closest thing to P Gorath’s setups that I can see. On the keepaway side of the house, if someone is impatient and the Doom/Shuma user is good at hiding Shuma then someone is going to get tagged for stupid damage. Especially considering Shuma will build meter for you since there is no escape from it full screen, along with missiles, photon array, j:h:, :h: plasma beam, and Sphere Flame. Just as soon as someone gets in they are pushed right the hell out. If I were to make a keepaway team, which I plan to soon enough, one of them would in fact consist of Doom/Shuma together along with maybe Chris, Dormammu, Deadpool, Trish, and maybe even Zero or Ammy

To be frank, I have no idea why you think Shuma is one of the best anchors in the game. Because honestly, he’s probably one of the worst characters at anchoring teams. Could you explain why?

I think I will try some Spidey/Doom[missiles]/Dormammu[dark hole]. I lacked a decent area control assist quicker than missiles such as arrows/beam/tatsu with missiles/ankle slicer, so this might work. Also, the huge meter that Spidey can build will translate into massive keepaway and chip when I go into the Doom/Dormammu unit.

looking at some of dormammu’s combos and looking at this latest discovery of spideys I personally believe that Spidey/Sentinel/Dormammu may be one of his best teams to date if time is put into it.

when I was first testing out the web throw tag out I was able to get a full web throw combo into raw tag sentinel spidey assist + rocket punch into launch. I personally suck with this sentinel so I dont know if I dropped the combo or if hit stun deterioration took control before they flipped out but I think that team would have possible meterless 100% team combos. Even more so if you can

a.) Get the infinite off flawlessly
b.) Obtain max damage with web throw combos while moving the Spidey Upper to after final web throw.

If sentinel wasnt so damn awkward in this game I’d give this team a go. Right now the only person IMO I could see myself using to replace Sentinel is Doom, still, since his moves plus Dormammu’s are hell together.

I’m on the Dorm bus right now too. I feel like dark hole is a great assist for Spidey. The lockdown it creates is very good for Spidey’s somewhat limited mixups. Raw Tag into Dark Dimension is super strong as well. Even though I have been avoiding Wesker (he has kind of been my nemesis since day one) I think he may be the best 3rd for this squad. Both Spiderman and Dorm benefit from an OTG assist, also you can set up some cool hard to blockables since samurai edge is kind of like having both of Deadpools good assists in one assist(low hitting and OTG). Dorm and Wesker also do great damage in level 2 and 3 x-factor. I’m trying this team out but Dorm is kind of tricky to learn. He has a fairly unique playstyle, so it will take a bit to get him up to speed. Anyone have any thoughts on this team composition? Any input is appreciated.

Lookng at more deadpool vids I see that katana Rama can also act as a makeshift anti air so I may actually start running spidey doom deadpool. Anyways dormammu is definitely strong. Not knocking weaker but you would do better with doom or mother beam type assist. Dorm can extend his combos with his own otg while the beam holds them in place for relaunch dark holes or really jump combos but I see where you coming from
