Pot monsters and stream dwellers everywhere. All this buttmad, I love it.
Do what they did with Mahvel, and put CvS2 on the download shops to test the waters.
I’d like to see them use the “boosted power level” design/visuals of the MvC series to facilitate adding characters that would body everyone free in a SF/KoF game (Dante, Ammy, Wesker, Zero, etc), and to tap more deeply into non-KoF franchises (like NGBC did).
I don’t quite understand why you should hate only Niitsuma… he is a producer. It’s his job to ensure that the game gets released on time and with a high quality, but Ishizawa is the director who came up with and green lighted the stupid ideas of Dark Phoneix, X Factor, TAC, etc. Also those stupid giant robots of TvC. So if you don’t like what he has been doing with MvC3 and TvC it would be hypocrisy to support his involvement in CvS3.
In any case, I seriously doubt that CvS3 has a chance of happening. Capcom would be extremely wary of letting SNK produce another game with their characters after the clusterfuck that is SvC, I also don’t think SNK possesses the ability to make a SvC2 even if they want to. And I doubt a CvS3 would be a big seller, when CvS2 hasn’t exactly been that great sales wise.
I actually would like niitsuma’s team to do a cvs3 to me they did a really good job with mvc3 I dont get why people thought it was gonna be like mvc2.5 what sets mvc3 apart from other vs games is that everyone is broken in someway
Signed. Coming from an OG CvS2 player, it would be awesome to have a sequel 10+ years later. Or at least release a CvS2 HD for online play similar to Third Strike.
I wouldn’t want CvS2 HDR. Give me normal CvS2 and I’d be more than happy.
And looking at the way the long awaited MvC3 turned out…do we really want CvS3?
The key thing is that while MvC3 may not mechanically feel like MvC2, it does still capture the important bits. First, it’s possibly even more broken than 2, thanks to how free the combo system is, secondly, it still has that high stakes all in poker feel.
I find it funny how people complain about MvC3 containing animu fighting elements when the VS and Darkstalker series has always existed in similar frame to those games. OTG window, hitstun decay, etc. all things that have been added to these kind of games since MvC2 and CvS2 hit the scene.
Not saying it’s wrong to not like these things, but to complain it’s not in the VS series because of these additions is frankly silly.
I also find it funny how people are saying they wouldn’t want a CvS3 because “look what they did to MvC3.” IT’S A NEW GAME. CvS1 to CvS2 was a huge improvement and there were some significant differences and additions. Even if some things were less than ideal, it would revive a franchise that has been dead/dormant for YEARS.
My only request would be to keep the 6 button layout and nerf CC damage SLIGHTLY. Otherwise, have at it and make something FRESH.
mvc1 to mvc2 was also a good transition for the better and so was cvs1 to cvs2
but there is a HUGE difference there. We’re talking about then instead of now and when you talk about now, look @ the modern transition from mvc2 to mvc3 which is a HUGE step down in terms of skill. That skill requirement is what prevents more people from playing the games so it will obviously be removed. It will have a comeback mechanic of some type in it and they will do everything else possible to make sure scrubs can compete.
I’m just really tired of scrub games becoming tournament standards
I’ve never wanted a CvS3. Even before Capcom made MvC3 a pile of shit (it’s not bad because it’s broken… it’s bad because it’s bad), I never wanted a CvS2 follow-up, since, to me, CvS2 is as close to perfect as we could hope for.
Re-release CvS2 on XBLA/PSN, and let that be that.
Is anyone else sick of Capcom’s stupid marketing/PR gimmicks? They really need to see people posting +1s to consider making the title? That is what their decision is going to be based on? Can’t keep hyping people up over the smallest shit all the time, people are going to stop caring. Hell they’re already gaining a terrible image.
I doubt it would be included, but I would almost LIKE to see roll cancels again. I know it was a glitch, but it added a great deal of complexity to CvS2. I think that complexity was lost on a lot of people because I would always hear something like, “roll cancelling is so cheap, herp derp.” This usually from people who couldn’t execute RC’s. But RC’s were always something you HAD to account for when facing an opponent, which made the game all the more interesting.
I agree with your point HAV, CvS2 is perfect to me as well. Maybe because it was the game I was always the best at (over MvC2, A3, ST, or 3S), maybe because the game had so much DEPTH, or maybe because it was so execution heavy (A-groove at least). Either way, I would really like to see (at the bare minimum) CvS2 Online for XBox 360 or PS3.
no meter build for whiffing in A, supers do 100dmg per hit when cc activated (as per minor cc damage nerf suggestion above).
no roll for C
small hp decrease for sagat/blanka
lower eletric damage (blanka)
zany idea:
fully charged S groove (non red) gives level 2 super damage
RCs are fine, it made the game more interesting, bug or not.
Cvs3 won’t be necessary after that.
