Thoughts on Magnus/Doom(missiles)/Dante(Jam)?? Currently running Magnus/Iron Man(repulsar)/Doom(hidden missiles), but I’ve always wanted to pick up Dante, and Dante is a much better character than IM (if I choose to drop him). Thanks for any responses.
I use it. It’s good enough, but people recommend Dante/Doom instead of Doom/Dante. I personally like Doom/Dante more, for incoming mixups and jam session with Doom. Jam is such a good assist. And I like Dante over Doom as anchor. Plus you can derp around with THCs.
And I like the TAC options that Doom gives Magneto over Dante, and I think Dante is a better anchor than Doom. I’d give in and go Viper/Dante/Strider or something similar, but Magneto is by far my favorite character so that is out of the question. Thanks for the reply.
Viper/Mag/Dante is also a nice team, and something I was contemplating switching to. Access to TAC infinites from incoming unblockables? Yes please.
I’m contemplating playing that team but I still don’t like anchor Dante.
That and I just started playing Viper 2 days ago and she’s pretty tough to play at a high level.
Anchor dante is pretty nice, less reactable teleports, safer mixups, insane damage. Plus Magneto gets so much from Jam Session. And so do Doom/Viper. I decided to run Magneto/Zero/Dante instead, played a few sets with a friend earlier and it’s doing quite nicely, especially with all the tech that’s been posted recently.
How does Viper set up an unblockable with this team? Viper/Mag/Dante does seem like an awesome, execution heavy team, so I’ll try it out. Thanks!
Seismo + Jam Session, sj cancel~focus attack. At least, this is how I’ve been doing it. They should land or be at around FA range once jam session hits. Seismo forces them to block so they can’t air dash away, etc.
Also, what’s the most optimal way to combo into lightning loops using Mag/Zero/Dante? I’ve tried Kef’s setups, but nothing has been really consistent for me. I’ve tried:

Short combo + raw tag to zero (easiest and most consistent, but won’t work on everybody and all situations)

Magneto combo, Zero Extension, Magnetic Tempest, DHC to Sougenmu, st.S + Jam Session, sj. 2H, S, OTGxxBuster into LL. OTG Buster seems to drop sometimes due to the OTG hitting twice, and then the LL afterwards is a bit wonky.

Messed around with Magneto-B/Frank-a/Dante-a with how much Temps has been hyping Frank up. I know playing Nova/Vergil in front is probably more effective/optimal but I want to mess around with this. The level 4 setups stHS xx TK Shockwave into whiff DHC with Jam Session gives 4 levels easy which is pretty nice.
I’m wondering what’s the optimal extension to go to with Shopping Cart so it allows me to still go into the stS xx TK Shockwave? Is there a way for me to use both assists post shockwave call as Frank? Or use both assists in a sequence during a combo so it gives me 4 camera shots?(I know how you can setup 3 with point frank)
The team seems pretty godlike for Frank, HyperGrav really works well with roll setups as both roll and hypergrav track :). Tempest THC also helps level Frank up too. Tempest + Million Dollars = where the fuck am I blocking and hold those high/lows. I’ll play around with it more. Give me some tips guys !
What sucks about this composition though as unlike using Vergil or Spencer you have to choose between leveling Frank up or getting the kill on the point character.
if you do a Hypergrav sideswitch, you might not even need to do TK Shockwave. just shockwave, DHC > wavedash with frank into photo. Can’t test it right now.
That team is good though, frank is that derp.
how do you guys feel about Mag/Doom/Akuma in comparison to our beloved Mag/Doom/Vergil?

Tatsu as a corner lockdown for mags seems disgusting and at anytime you want someone to get off you, it could be as simple as pressing forward+assist.
not sure on the Doom+tatsu or Akuma+missiles shell.

Magneto/Akuma/Doom is the stronger order. Akuma is much much better at abusing Missiles than Doom is at abusing Tatsu. Akuma is actually pretty good on point although he has some pretty bad matchups like Captain America or Taskmaster.
I dont think Mag/Doom/Vergil is optimal, and Mag/Vergil/Doom is better. But with XF3 the true god it’s a pretty good choice.
I don’t know how Doom is with Tatsu but Luis makes it work.
its a very offensive team, I can tell you that. doom-tatsu has really nasty pressure, its no doom ammy, or strider. you work on your solo doom approaches with the team and you can call tatsu when youre closer to them. akuma-missles is good, but you would need akuma assist in order to TAC into doom, and I have usually used my akuma already to get in. also, I’ve been using akuma anchor since vanilla ^^;. missles lets you in with mags, and while you’re pressuring, when you see the push block you call tatsu and do em disruptor to stop any counters.
I should try that team today. Seems legit actually like mag/vergil/frank

Okay I want to roll Magneto on point. But I find Doom / Sentinel / Dorm etc ridiculously boring and pretty Cut n Paste. I was looking through characters and I came to
Magneto EMD / Strange Bolts / Hawkeye ???
To me it seems kinda solid. But could anyone offer some critique? I think Bolts are kinda slow. But I love strange as a character and he does have a decent amount of synergy with Magneto. Hawkeye was a wildcard tbh. It just seems like he fits anywhere. Though I did consider Amaterasu.
Hello all, I’m relatively new here but in the past couple of days I’ve found some tech for Mag/Zero that doesn’t include Dante. If anyone plays Mag(Beam)/Zero(Ryuenjin)/Doom(Missiles) this is for you. Also, these combos are written as though one hasn’t experienced higher level Mags combos.
To DHC from Tempest to Lightning Loops, and Doom assist hasn’t been used yet, do a grounded tempest after whatever combo you normally do, and once the character is high enough (80-90 hits after tempest) DHC to sogenmu. Link st.S+A2, follow up with j.2H>j.S. When you land, do a normal jump M Raikousen xx Buster xx L Raikousen. Continue LL as you see fit.
To do the same with Doom missiles being used, take them to the corner with a small combo (at most 21 hits before tempest) and do the same setup with grounded tempest into st.S with Zero. Follow up with a j.2H and j.S. OTG as normal with your H Dive and loop normally. The first raikousen after the initial Buster xx L Raikousen needs to be TK’d and it needs to be fast.
As a general note, the more hits in your combo, the tighter all of the timings are going to be.
The following are the confirms I’ve developed to keep the possibility of the DHC setup as an option. I believe this setup allows Mag/Zero to be played to its fullest without needing Dante. Doom missiles plays to Magneto’s strengths better than Jam Session, in my opinion.

For those of you looking to play Vergil Anchor instead of Doom, I have Mag/Zero/Vergil tech as well.
Use any Mag combo you want, but keep Vergil assist unused as it is key to making this combo work.
Using Kanta-Kun’s tech from a page ago, I came up with this DHC setup. Works on all sizes and fall types.

mag/strange/hawkeye seems pretty good in handling neutral i think, but i believe you should also try hawkeye/magneto/strange so that you have three beams behind you along with arrows covering the ground and air as well as access to tac infinites OR if you dhc into magneto, you can then combo however many hyper gravs into FoF loops with strange.
magneto in my oppinion doesn’t benefit too well from ammy other than the pants on head mix ups with cold star.
i’d definitely lab it up with this team cause it seems really fun.
