Crutching? Hardly. It’s perfect for Spidey and Wesker because of their mix up potential.
I’m also someone who plans on having Spider -Man at point with two good assist characters helping him out. I’m looking at Wesker for high-low unblockables and Deadpool as a keep away projectile assist character and secondary point until I learn Wesker. I dig the team because they all seem to be viable at the point and hopefully Spidey has at least one good assist making the team pretty damn solid all-around.
I’m thinking of running a Spidey/Hulk team, but I haven’t decided on a third. Hulk Gamma Wave assist can help against zoners and it’s also an OTG move as well. Hulk and Spidey might have DHC chemistry, as my post above illustrates.
Spidey’s assists look lackluster, but his Spider String move results in a knockdown, right? That gives it a property other AAA do not have. Spidey AAA into Gamma Tsunami… I think too much about Spidey/Hulk…
Crutching was a bad word to use, but still. Every rushdown team has chun in it now, I’m hoping there are some other assists that can hold enemies in blockstun.
im looking at spidey, wesker, amaterasu, using cold star assist to lock down.
Does the Spider sting assist have the follow up that knocks down? I could see it being pretty good if that’s the case.
I’m a newb to MvC, but I’d like to use spidey and zero, would they work well together? I havent looked up on alot of peoples assist’s so im completely clueless =P

-i don’t like web swing and web throw being almost the same direction input plus button at all.
-i don’t like spiderman no longer have c. mk>hk as his launcher. what i mean by that is that its cool that E is the launcher but i don’t like that its the uppercut rather than the back flip kick. aesthetically the kick is better IMO.
I know characters still have “mini launchers” so I’m not 100% that it’s gone.
I like the way Spider plays. He’s fast and his special moves only takes 1 bar.
I have no idea. I remember seeing someone use it in one of the vids on the front page, but I don’t remember them actually scoring a hit with it. Seems like it has good range though judging by the animation.
I noticed in one of the vids he launched with his df.hk (the foot) like from MvC 2.
I’m also curious about the AA assist. In Marvel 2 it was 1 hit, but I hope it gets the full 2 hits in MvC 3.
Can you combo into Maximum Spider? I like that his Web Throw super is an unblockable AA, depending on the range it could be really useful on Mags and Storm.
Ya, you can. I’m interested to see what you can follow up Web Throw with, if anything. Whether it be KFC, DHC, OTG. I wanna know how broke it can get. Especially since it’s been speculated that it’s free after you KO an opponent’s team member and another comes in.

That’s what I’m dying to know too. Especially is his assist SS includes the follow up bound strike.
Getting pretty damn hype to test Spidey out and run him as my #1 option on a team with Magneto and X23. He looks to have pretty slick runaway if the situation calls for it, and I’m hoping that web zip combined with Ankle Slicer assist in the middle of blockstrings will be a viable pressure string with unblockable potential.
Hopefully the speed of both of those moves are fast enough. They don’t even have to be THAT fast, since it doesn’t seem like a ton of hypers have huge invincibilty. And I can (hopefully) turn the juice off in time if I suspect an attempt to switch momentum without giving up too much pressure.
If Spidey’s AAA is the 2hit sting, that’s gravy. Hell, if it’s a decent AA, I’d be more than satisfied.
Maximum Spider is looking pretty solid for DHC’s with my proposed team - Shockwave is a gimme, and iirc I think i saw it DHC into X23’s triple flip kick hyper.
Getting in will be the biggest bitch though. Gonna try and abuse Mags’ EMDisruptor with Pete’s schmexy air mobility. And basically, if one of my characters get hitconfirmed 1.5 times, I die (probably once if it’s Sent comboing me). But I’m still gonna roll with it for a while.
Havent seen much KFC potential from Spider-Man in any videos yet, all I’ve been able to see is that he looks stupid fast. Hoping that Crawler Assault KFC UWT is a touch of death - or at least works, because that would be hawt.
Will also be looking for as many UWT gimmicks as I can once this game drops, haha.
