MvC3: How do I shot web? The Spiderman FAQ Thread

anyone got any tips for doing the overhead web swing cancelled off the super jump? I for the life of me just can’t get it, must be my shitty Street Fighter motions

Forgive me, I’ve never used the input notations before, so let me give this a try

The input should read
:rdp::ub: :l:
You’ll want to pause for 4 frames after the :ub: because if you input :l: before 4 frames you’ll cancel super jump into grounded web swing. Look for the puff of smoke at spidey’s feet to have it go off right at the start of the jump.

how about web swing h after S?

i can’t do that at all.

You can’t cancel S into anything in this game (not sure if this applies to all characters, but it does for the majority of then)

wrong. You can Jump cancel S into any special move.

Spidey can do L , M , H, S cancel into H Web throw.

DONT BE AFRAID TO USE CRAWLER ASSAULT!!! IT HAS 20 frames of invincibility and can really come in handy!! For now I use MS for combos and Crawler assualt for defense thanks to his invincibility. I’ve countered tons of close range stuff, I use it mostly when ppl random super from up close, those 20 frames really come in handy against random players.

Crawler Assault is good. You can punish Sent’s 2B with XFC, Crawler. Possibly his S too, can’t remember. Just recently picked up Haggar as a third and he DHC’s real well with Spidey and Doom. XFC, Crawler, Photon Array, Haggar Body Slam(don’t know the name) does 1,450,000 dmg. So if I have 3 bars this effectively takes away Sents ability to use his Super Armored moves. Bait it and punish.

is there neway someone could post spidey’s frame data from the brady guide for those of use who can’t find a copy? im sure a couple peeps including myself would highly appreciate the info

What supers can you dhc into after max spider ive seen zero and dooms up shot are there any other useful ones?

Was trying to incorporate my assists more in my blockstrings. Using Doom plasma beam assist I started doing, 5A + Doom, L.Webswing, Doom hits, Web Zip while still in air from Web Swing. Now this right here puts us at +17. Now what I didn’t realize, but probably should have, is that as soon as Web zip hits the opponent you can cancel to an air dash. You can get a pretty good ambiguous crossup at this point.

Also 5A + Doom plasma, L.Webswing, S. S will crossup the opponent if they stay crouching.

One more thing I was messing around with today. Spidey can cancel his dash really early with attacks. A dash followed by an immiediate 5A will give you a quick sliding 5A, nothing revolutionary here, but you can do the same in reverse. See what you guys think about 5C canceled back dash as an antiair. If done early enough it seems to beat out a lot. It has enough a big enough hitbox to hit an opponent just after the appex of a normal jump. You can also hit confirm into Max. Spider on hit, you have plenty of time. If done correctly it should simply look like Spidey’s 5C is sliding backwards. Gonna put up a vid of some of these ideas this weekend.

I think maybe we can use this to bait out some moves as well. Like if you are next to an opponent and do a 5A, then backdash, 5C cancel.

5A+Doom plasma, 5C, Plasma hit, H.Webball, Max Spider will combo starting with 5C. I think maybe we can use this to bait an AG. Mess around with this and see what you guys think.

Sup yall, I got a question about some Anti-(Dark)Phoenix technology and I apologize if it’s been asked and answered before.

If you’re Spidey and do a snapback on an opponents point character to bring in (Dark)Phoenix, can (Dark)Phoenix dodge or escape an Ultimate Web Throw once she’s flying onto the screen? Does her teleport have any invincibility that enables her to escape?

Pretty sure UWT isn’t possible on anyone after snapback or KO.

Really??? I didn’t know that…is that just a limitation that the game imposes on Spidey, or can no one do a hyper combo after landing a snapback?

Lol, I feel like I’m saying this a lot. I don’t remember why it didn’t work, I just know I couldn’t get it to work. Tried it out a long time ago.

Well thanks for the info, I got a good starting point the next time I’m doin labwork with Spidey.

i was having problems with spidey’s approach for the longest since most of his jumping attacks push spidey outta range for a follow up. it was getting difficult till i noticed that if u cancel his air dash at a certain point with S, spidey kinda slides across the ground letting u slide in while doing lights. its makes spidey mad annoying and has been working wonders for me, dunno if neone else has posted it so if this is known im sry. either way hope it helps some peeps out

After a snapback they can block on the way in. They also can’t be air thrown unless they try to attack or do an aerial movement.

Ok since videos of Spider-man action are extremely hard to come by, can anyone share their experiences with these topics? I can’t tell if it’s just me:

  1. Web throw into Maximum Spider seems to only be reliable against Sentinel. I can get it against other chars, but not 100% of the times.

  2. What BnB have you guys been using? I got sick of having to judge between L, M and H Webswing according to position on screen so I only use L version on the ground and I completely scrapped the air series, webswing, Maximum Spider. Now I’m doing: opening, Web Swing L, a.M, a.M, a.S, c.M, s.H, Spider Sting, Spider Bite, c.M, S.H. Spider Sting, Maximum Spider (around 602k damage unfortunately). At least that I can get 100% of the time.

  3. Spidey swings around fast and it’s really hard to judge his momentum and the opponent’s position, so when dropping from S I could almost never the a full a, b, c series on the ground. Because of that I always drop into c.M, s.H if I think I’ll hit on the way in (or in the rare occasions I can hit confirm the a.S) or c.L, s.H if I want to go low.

Also, I’d recommend everyone going for Web Swing and Spider Sting combos to start with the later. If the opponent pushblocks you are back in his face, if he doesn’t, the Web Swing will crossup a considerable part of the cast, and if it doesn’t cross up you have frame advantage and can go high/low.

Edit: God…I honestly belive Spider-man and Chun-li have the hardest combos in this game. With Spiderman you need a good spacing, the inputs are kinda hard, against some character after web swing you have to do M, M, S, while against others only M, S will work…
