MvC3 guide is totally awesome

I walked into the bookstore yesterday and picked it up. They hadn’t put it out on the shelves yet, it was still in the back.

It’s probably the best guide for any game I’ve ever seen. It’s really good.

Unbelievable. Loving almost every strategy in the guide so far.

I’ve already gotten more out of this guide than from my college accounting textbook!

…seriously though, this guide is pretty damn awesome.

This is a great guide, tons of information. I didn’t play much MvC2 or vs games in general, this will make learning the game that much faster.

Had mine preordered from Amazon. Then I got the bad news on the delay. Headed out to Gamestop to pick it up, only to find out they had SOLD OUT at that store. In fact, of the 11 Gamestop stores in my area, only 2 had any left. Definitely don’t assume you’ll be able to roll into a store and get a copy this weekend.

Also, its 400 pages of small-ass type. I needed my reading glasses. Lots of info, as people have said.

I don’t get it. How can the guide have sections for Jill and Shuma when those characters (mostly Jill) are supposedly incomplete according to Krissan Tyme?

Damn, first time Amazon ever let me down. All of my local GameStop’s are sold out, too. I finally caved and just ordered from GameStop.com.

Well…at least you guys have gotten the e-mail. Mine simply hasn’t shipped yet and there’s no information whatsoever. Combine this with the fact that I haven’t had updated tracking info from the Capcom store since Tuesday, and I still don’t have the game yet…and I’m a pretty unhappy camper.

I am also one of the unlucky ones who originally ordered the guide on Amazon. I found two guides at Target on Wednesday. If any of you guys are looking to buy it retail instead of waiting, definitely try the game sections of Wal-Mart and Target. They are more likely to have one than a GameStop. Also, some book stores do carry game guides, and not many people go looking for them there, so check them out as well.

This guide is amazing. im way ahead of the local comp cause of a few things i implemented from the guide (this book has a lot more juice for me to learn).

Im impressed how small the font is. this book is packed with info.
thanks buk!

Strategy guides are worthless in the age of the internet.

good guide I was expecting a lot of random art pages but nope lots of good info

Love the guide. I usually don’t buy fighting game guides as you can find what you need most times on the net. BUT, this guide is very good, it is choc full of good stuff. Definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that you pay for it.

oh i’m sure you can find everything in this book on the internet, definitely. it’s probably just separated into hundreds of threads and thousands of posts. if you don’t mind digging through them every time you need a quick access, by all means.

for $22.99 though, it’s definitely worth it just to save you the hours of hassle.

the guide also provides background story on the characters and VS game development, as well as comparisons to other fighting games. if you read for pleasure at all, in a hospital lobby or on the can, you will likely find this book adequately fills that void.

Urgh. It’s probably been posted numerous times, but I too am a victim of Amazon’s delay. Guess that’s the price I pay for getting it on the cheap.

Oh well, I’m a patient man. Hopefully it’ll get here before March.

i want another one in hardcover!

Outstanding Guide

It’s not often that I actually make a post on here (I’ve been on here since around when the site opened and I don’t think I have even broke 100 posts) but I have to say that this guide is just fucking amazing. 400 pages of stuff like frame data, damage amounts, tips for people from beginners to advanced players on how to get more out of each character, and lots of details even on the engine itself.

This is the first item that I have bought in years that I actually went out and got at a store for full price, rather than getting it online for a discount. Just because I wanted it NOW so that when I go to my boys house this weekend to play MvC3 I can show them all the guide. :woot:

I work at Target, we had 3 copies just out on the floor yesterday. I say " had " because my girlfriend went by and picked one up.

Just check your Target stores, I’m almost POSITIVE they’ll have one.

I got mine from Best Buy, check those too.
