Hello, final author here. Would have posted sooner but rupturing water pipes and falling ceilings have been an awesome part of my very recent past.
Awesome working with Joe and Adam again. Awesome working with Campbell for the first time. They are all fighting game legends in their own way! All of us love fighting games and worked super hard on this game. We wanted to make the best guide we possibly could.
Anyways, about the issue with combos and memorization - I think you will find a lot of the combo system to be modular. You will find yourselves memorizing small portions and then knowing how to connect these modules together will be an important part of the combo system. The combos in the guide are really good, but more importantly should help readers understand the possibilities for combo exploration of their respective character.
Out of curiosity, whatās the standard procedure when coming to writing guides, when games might be patched in the (near) future? Do you guys eventually publish an updated version of the guide? And do you communicate with the developers in anticipation of patches? (if you have dlc info on the guide, you must work in conjunction, right?)
Just picked up the guide tonight. I have to say the information in here is invaluable. Even if you think you can figure out all the strats and whatnot on your own, the frame data and knowledge of what has invincibility or not is so helpful.Tips on combos, what assists work with what, and every damn detail seems covered.
By far the best guide Iāve ever seen for a fighter and damn cheap for what you get. $22.00

I picked my guide up today when I got my copy of the game at midnight. So far, the information in it is awesome, and I love the fact that the frame data is included. The general strategy stuff looks mighty impressive as well. The only downside Iāve come across is on page 262: Feliciaās āKittyās Helperā hyper combo is listed as 214 + 2 ATK instead of 623 + 2 ATK. Itās just a minor misprint in a large and thorough guide. Just putting it out there that there might be other typos as well.
You knew what you were getting yourself in to when you picked the character, so you should nut up and admit your own failings. Besides, this game is mad anime, and in anime games even the worst character is usually decent to amazing.
Iām swinging down to pick this thing up today. Canāt wait.
