MvC3 guide is totally awesome

Alright thanks for answering.

X-Factor Canceling.
People note it as KFC because it’s funny.

no. it’s not.

anyways, this guide from the writers/contributors alone is worth buying. people questioning buk are obviously noobs and don’t know who he is or what he has done for the community.

can’t wait to read it.

Heh, on the stream they are talking about the new guide, and how it’s as good as the old SF2 Alpha guide. I remember the old posts where people would talk about how guides have always sucked. The SF2 Alpha guide always came to mind as being one that didn’t to me.

Stupid is what it is.

Yo Buc, I saw you on the Team Khaos steam, and that was some GODLIKE stuff. Really awesome!

Does anyone know if any stores are selling it early ? more specifically hastings i got a 20 dollar gift card im waiting to spend on this

Watching that right now. That’s one of the most exciting Dooms I’ve seen yet.

i missed it, but i caught the tail end of the interview with buktooth on the stream. anyway, he also made a couple of interesting observations based on his experience while working on the guide.

  1. worst characters: ryu, haggar, captain amercia and maybe the hulk. although, he thinks he’s still usable.

  2. x-factor: he okay’s with the speed boost, canceling properties, etc but thinks the damage boost for losing characters is overkill.

A part of me died when I read that.

Hopefully people will find some stuff in the coming months that makes them suck less. I can see Haggar and Captain America being useful as assist characters, for example.

it’s just an opinion of the game so far. it’s still early. it’s not like he gave out a tier list or something.

Buk made Cap look pretty godly in the match I saw the other day… pretty sure it was a Cap OCV.

Nice Doom aswell, actually got me interested in playing him…

No, but as the guy who helped write the strategy guide he has spent more time with the game and learned more about the characters than just about anyone else so I think his opinion in this area carries a lot of weight. But who knows, maybe people will find ways to make them work. Personally I like taking low to mid tier characters. It feels more satisfying when you win and if you lose you can always say “well of course I lost… (xxx) is ass!”.

Looks amazing from those screenshots I’ve seen. Can anybody confirm if the DLC characters (Jill & Shuma) will be in it? My question might have already been answered in this thread and perhaps I just overlooked it, so sorry if this is a redundant question.

They are coming March 15th from what I read…

Lol, I know what you mean. I have this weird thing with fighting games where I base my character choice on APPEARANCE of the character(s). If a character looks really cool, I’ll use him/her…regardless of how they stack up against the competition. I enjoy using the unpopular characters as well. Nothing made me more happy than dominating the legions of RYU and Ken users in SFIV with my C.Viper.

Well yeah, but I was asking if they will be in the guide which releases on the same date as the game.

Shuma/Jill are included in the guide.

SWEET! Thanks for the info!

To Deelite et al:

Out of curiosity, what’s the standard procedure when coming to writing guides, when games might be patched in the (near) future? Do you guys eventually publish an updated version of the guide? And do you communicate with the developers in anticipation of patches? (if you have dlc info on the guide, you must work in conjunction, right?)
