I’ll post in the combo/video thread maybe later tonight or tomorrow (on the way out the door soon), but I just HAD to post somewhere. I’m EXTREMELY happy to report that I will NOT be breaking up my old Cap/Spencer/IronMan after all. I spent about an hour or so working on finding something as a last effort to keep the team together.
My new team BnB does approx. 1.05mil damage for 2 meters. The old one from vanilla did roughly 930-950k…I’d say this is a pretty good deal to keep them together, so I keep my incoming character mixups, resets, and kill anyone with 3 meters (very much literally this time it’s something like 1.25iml).
I dare say this one is significantly more sexy than the previous combo.

Anyone else havin trouble converting a grab in the corner to otg ss? Really breaks my mixup options
if you grab them in the air in the corner back throw them, if you do end up doing a forward throw grounded or otherwise it’s hard to combo off of but not impossible. in the corner facing the corner you’ll need an assist to hit after the first shield slash hit and will combo into the return hit. simple enough with most characters.
but seriously. throw them out of the corner if you’re going for resets off combos, you can combo them easily alllll the way into the other corner, but most times the combo will kill if you’ve already done a combo into a reset anyway
Okay guys I discovered some REALLY DUMB CHEAP SHIT involving Captain’s new Cartwheel invulnerability.
I call it OSRM, standing for Option Select Reversal Mixup
Step1, pick a very fast start up assist, such as Vergil’s Rising Sun
Step2, play Cap in front of him
Step3, mash on this input during any blockstring; A1~A+S (Vergil~Cartwheel)
If there is any gap, you will first call vergil, then immediately afterwards cartwheel through the attack. A number of possible outcomes will happen:
If you somehow fail to cartwheel, no problem, Vergil gets hit and you pushblock. Not a big deal, usually.
If both successfully activate, you will not only activate what is most likely to be a safe reversal, it will ALSO CROSS UP.
THIS IS SUPER DUMB POWERFUL, especially since Captain can hit confirm Vergil’s Rising sun for 700k with 1 super.
Recognize this is not just a strong reversal that crosses up, you can also block low while you input it; that is the OS! You do not need to make nearly any read, and your timing doesn’t need to be good!
Footage of this tech will be on youtube soon, I successfully used it at least once during my grand finals win at Tight or Fight against Mr. Naps.

I do that vs Magnus pressure - the problem is people adapting and going for grabs. Some hyper make it a lot less safe but if you have bar of your own you can get then.
Depending in assist this can still be very punishable but normally it’s awesome.
Grabs is definitely a good call. One of a very small number of ways to punish it.

Just cartwheel and call an assist - if there is even one frame where you aren’t in blockstun you’re basically free from the mixup

something random, if you back throw, then do L SS, the shield won’t hit upon return, but if you pop xfactor (level 2 or 3) the shield will hit
I guess the shield gets x factor boost even if it’s already been thrown?

I guess no one will reply to this so I will. If you do the back throw and you’re not near the corner, do a back dash, but only let about 1/3rd of the back dash come out and the otg SS will pick them up with both hits allowing you to following it up with an air combo.
Sounds similar to what my friend does, but you don’t even need a fast assist. He does the same bs with drones. Can’t hit Cap cause he rolls through your attack, can’t hit Sent cause cap tags you in the back after the roll. Pretty much all you can do is jump/superjump but even that feels like a disadvantage in Marvel since having your opponent under you and off-screen just waiting to mix you up is bad.
Even if you do land a hit on Cap, drones put a stop to it quick. Nothing like a free mixup for essentially no work huh?
