MvC3: Final Justice! The Captain America Thread

We need to change the title of the thread because not Final Justice in MvsC3 D:

I’m starting to think maybe they’ll make Final Justice a level 3 move. I saw the movelist and almost everyone is missing some trademark super. No Weapon X, Darkness Illusion, Gamma Crush or Shin Shoryuken. Probably still in development(I hope o_o).

Two reasons. Either in development and they just wanted everyone to have two supers, or they’re Level 3. Considering the moves left out, I would think both possibilities are likely.

FInal Justice will be level 3, no doubt.

Love the new Shield Slash that can hit on the return and the new full screen cartwheel. The latter is seriously huge, cause general mobility has been Cap’s main problem in these games.

Cap is looking much better in mvc3. His shield slide bouncing off the walls looks like a really good gimick so far, i wonder if it will cross up? it can create a lot of opportunities. His cartwheel also looks better. it seems captain america wont be low tier anymore.

his voice sounds awful, like hes gargling marbles or something, it sounds forced and fake, unlike previous cap

Cap Am VA sounds like he was recording during lunch time, I won’t mind it, but it totally didn’t live up to my expectations.

He looks solid as hell as a character, his chain combo to Super does formidable damage, given how easy it is to connect it. The effects on his Supers are “dazzling”, but for some reason the Charging Star effect in the front of the shield is green, weird.

Cap Am never seems to never lose his shield, awesome. If his new cartwheel has enough start-up invincibility, it can have a lot of uses against projectiles and chip-supers. The new distance it covers is amazing.

Edit: His returning shield definitely crosses up.

His projectile assist is pretty nasty, the shield going back and forth can make for some nifty combos or long block strings.

Can’t wait to see the rest of my favorite hero.

It also looks like shield slash stuns the crap out of the opponent on hit. In one of the videos Cap nails Dante with it and I swear there was at least 10 frames of stun before Cap dashed in and combo’ed the crap out of him. Nice :wgrin:

Actually, I’ll be sad if he can’t lose his shield. Losing the shield then doing s.HP XX Final Justice was one of my favourite “Fuck you” combos. Unless they make Final Justice easier to connect (bring back kick throw launcher please! Or make s.HK XX Final Justice more reliable), I’ll be missing that.

From the videos he seems as agile and fast as his original MSH version; which is the best Cap has ever been.

Shield Slashes that can hit on return. Full screen cartwheel. He really doesn’t need anything else; besides his throw launcher and Final Justice super.

Cap should be fun to play.

i like cap in this, but im keeping in mind that the full roster hasnt been revealed, so im trying not to get hyped by characters who may or may not end up being unviable later on

2 hit Shield Slash (while opponent is mid-air) to Stars and Stripes is so boss. If you cancelled into Hyper Stars and Stripes after that, you got yourself a whole lot of patriotic kick-assery. Vid and time below.

After watching the vids a bit more, I found out that if Captain America gets hit while Shield Slash is returning, the Shield Slash will “deactivate” and lose the blue after-image, but he will never lose his shield.

Edit: I was thinking on Cap’s Shield Slash a bit more, and I was thinking, when an opponent comes in, he can have a complete 50/50 mix-up. Combined with a projectile assist (ex. Ryu’s Hadouken), he can mistime either the shield or the assist, and depending on that, it is a complete guess for the opponent to block either side. From there, he can chain combo into Super.

Maybe there’s even a way to knock them down and repeat the process? American Vortex? I’ll be sure to test this come release.

I just wanna say that Capt America’s theme in the 1st MvC was the best!

IMO, he’ll remain useful as long as Hyper Charging Star retains it’s invincibility and can punish other Hyper Combos at full screen.

cap will kick ass this time. his shield slash rebounds with cross up, has a ton of stun and is a 2 hit combo in mid air, full screen cartwheel, all supers are easily comboable and do high damage, high atk & def, very good & easy b&b combo(c. weak, s. strong, c. strong, s. fierce, c. fierce, launcher), high angled shield slash combos off of trip and puts the enemy in position for a launcher to finish off with an air combo([media=youtube]wf816Pj-36s]YouTube - MARVEL VS. Cap looks like he’ll be kick some serious ass! Thumbs up soldier!

I just hope they didn’t waste they didn’t make the cartwheel garbage in this game if they’re going to bother bringing it back.

Something one guy discovered (Carpet) is that America’s 5C can be whiff canceled, kind of like a fake kara cancel, and can be used to extend range on moves, including his command roll. This is one technique I hope Capcom don’t remove from him, as it gives him sick ability to move across the screen, as well as combo potenital.
