if you’ve been watching as many videos of cap as you can like i have it’s pretty clear that his damage potential is pretty high - I see a LOT of potential there - which is why I’m going to try to make a fun video of captain combos a day or so after release

not to IMPRESS but just to show off what will surely be an underplayed character’s basic combo ability a little bit.

Cap Lv3 is QCF+AA

And also I was a bit disapointed with the way he moves but there’s still hope. Those shield slashes combos are sick.

might seem silly - but I’m glad to know that Captain also has the “Avengers, Assemble!” entrance like Iron Man does.

I liked how shield slash can hit twice in some cases. Should open up some interesting possibilities with him.

Seems like any time it’s in the air/diagonal mid combo it hits twice but we’ll mess with it when the game comes out. Doesn’t work in the corners though!

at about 0:40 seconds cap does a combo into charging star on the ground and combos straight off that into another string -> hyper stars and stripes.

combine the ability to combo a string off charging star with those multiple shield slash combos and my money is on some fat awesome american combos from cap.

dunno if that has been mentioned (although i doubt it because this thread is sad face)

Gimpy, you’re not the only one rooting for Cap. Heh, guess I’ll run into you online and we can trade some stuff sometime. It’s hard to find vids outside of the official ones where Cap is used well, it’s a tad bit disheartening considering the amount of spotlight every other character is getting.

Either way, he put in some work in that E3 build, the only thing that makes me kind of sad is that he had the airdash then, which (of course) he doesn’t have now.

I’m still really bummed out about the loss of his double-jump. I played a lot of Cap in MvC2 and that double jump saved me more times than I can count against both keepaway AND rushdown characters. If it’s true that Capcom took it out at Marvel’s request, I think it was a pretty bad decision that shows the obvious lack of any knowledge about balance in fighting games on the part of the Marvel rep. For someone with a weak projectile game and no air dash, a double-jump was the perfect addition to Cap’s mobility options. It also fit the character very well IMO, as Cap has always been known for his acrobatic skills.

Double jump doesn’t really make much sense from a CHARACTER standpoint.

I dunno - I think that his karacartwheel if he still has it is going to be really effective and fast paired with an assist like iron man beam or something

Cap needs something! He never loses.

Cap has nothing really special! And he is the best character ever.

90% of the cartwheels that I saw finished with cap being hit.

Carpet should finished that combo with a charging star cancel or any Hyper.

Does Cap have some move to hit a guy on the ground?
Maybe the down shield slash, a charging star, a stars and stripes or a hyper stars and stripes?

He should have something to pop up an enemy of the ground!
Does he still can use that “short charging star” on his combo like a guy did on E3 version?

This build of the gamespot tournament is the last one. No more changes? Cap is going to be this shit for sure?

his cartwheels aren’t going to be completely free - we’re going to have to figure out how to use them effecively!

as it stands now cap honestly does look a little bit lackluster, but his damage output for waht looks like fairly simple combos is really good. I’m hoping that I can put together a team that can support him well enough to really do some heavy damage to my opponents!

we’ll work though this together, cap looks like he could be quite fast with proper cartwheel use!

In this video at 2:00 min, it seems like cap has something to accelerate his air attack.
He falls fast and in a diagonal direction. It´s some “special” move or am I crazy?
