MvC3: Felicia thread V2: For All your Broadway Catgirl Nun needs!

Semi-Simple and effective BNBs for mid/tall chars and cornered short chars:
:l::m::b::h:(2):dp::m:,:m::b::h:(2):qcf::h:>:m:,:l::m::df::m:j.:m::m::h::s:land:m::s:sj.:m::m::h::s:land:d::df::m::f::uf::atk::atk:

For short (non-MODOK, Ammy) chars anywhere:
:l::m::b::h:(2):dp::l:,:l::m::b::h:(2):qcf::h:>:m:,:l::m::df::m:j.:m::m::h::s:land:m::s:sj.:m::m::h::s:land:d::df::m::f::uf::atk::atk:

Once you’ve got those down you can try extending your combos using OTGs + Assists to relaunch etc. for a higher damage output.

PS3 has always been my console of choice, but when I bought my stick an year ago, it was to use on my pc, which unfortunately isn’t compatible with PS3 sticks.

Anyway, thanks for those great combos guys!

So, Felicia’s Rolling Buckler Uppercut. This move is actually really, really great anti-air. Comes out fast, hits high, and auto-corrects her direction just as all Rolling Buckler moves do. It’s a great way to close in quickly and pressure back-jump happy characters. If you’re quick and they aren’t mashing, you can also get in a air throw once they recover and start up one of her throw combos.

If you’re like me and had been neglecting this move, start using it more. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Problem with AA moves is once they realise you like using them they can just jump and air block them and wait for the punish so use it sparingly for that. I like ending combos with it for air resets when I don’t have meter or just don’t want to use meter :3

QCF+L~H probably easier to input than a DP motion too :3

This also needs to be said: Felicia needs a dive kick. She needs a way to approach from super jumps. Delta Kick and Rolling Buckler just leave her way too vulnerable to punishment. I think Felicia might actually be the only rushdown type character who doesn’t have an air option. Matches tend to be won or lost in the air in this game - not having anything going for her in the air makes our girl extremely limited.

i wanna use felicia as she’s an underused rush down, first option was c.viper but i fail and IAD

can i do well with felicia with a ps3 controller, mainly the throws and mix-ups

also, i’m a total noob at fighting games so could felicia players tell me thier psn and give me advice later after i fight you?

There’s been an uprise of pad players, even in Marvel, so the type of controller you’re using shouldn’t be a factor in limiting your potential.

As for Felicia, she’s an incredibly fun character that does a certain degree of execution higher than the likes of…let’s say Wolverine. There’s excellent information in the sticky threads that is definitely worth sifting through the pages, if you truly are dedicated in wanting to become great with her.

I actually would like to, she seems like a very underused character with amazing mix up potential

While she is execution intensive, I think a lot of it is timing-based, and not speed based. A pad shouldn’t be too much trouble for you.

Execution-wise she’s not the easiest but she’s certainly not the hardest. Some of the hard stuff (Toy Touch jump cancel) can be made easier with assists too :3

toy touch cancel is easy actually…

i’m thinking more about rolling slide then going into an air combos and all that stuff

Post RB Slide juggles are easier than jump cancelling Toy Touch into Dancing Flash, doesn’t need to be as fast. Even I can do it (most of the time) now :stuck_out_tongue:

Hardest things are probably Toy Touch jump cancel RB whiff Slide cancel to PHM and midscreen forward throw wave dash into Toy Touch combos with a side of midscreen Hellcat dash Toy Touch combo.

I think her biggest difficulty is turning air hits into damage, its a pretty big weakness considering alot of characters can do air chain into super or divekick into full combos or whatever. she can do it but its situational and she needs to take them to the ground with just air normals and pick them up with her ground ones. if you are doing anything more complicated than her bnb combos than you are gonna need to put in some work. also need to be perfect with the toy touch pickups.

I think its not combo execution its more hit confirming and mixup based execution, as well maximizing damage from her most awkward angles.

Just keep at it baby. I’m working on my mid-combo jump cancels and mid-screen combos. They’re a bit harder. All it takes is practice - even a college student like me can get a little in here and there.

Keep at it OP. Just don’t show off all our cat’s secrets too soon eh?

I’m just happy to see other Felicia players out there.

when the game first came out, she was the first person I picked up, along with Viper and X-23. You would think, based on my team, I’d have dropped either Viper or Felicia, given 23’s easy learning curve (in my opinion). Actually, I did the opposite. I dropped 23 for Dormammu last week (Tron didn’t work out for me) and he’s been a great addition to the team.

Problem, though, is that in all the time I’ve had the game, I still haven’t dedicated any time to learning Felicia. As a result, I have an amazing Viper and a somewhat decent Dormammu, but my Felicia is the weakest link.

I guess I’ve told you all of this for one reason:

Felicia is a character you have to dedicate time to. If you’re not prepared to spend a lot of lab time with her, then she’ll drag your team down. In the months the game has been out, I’ve JUST started trying to learn the TT>RB combo. As a matter of fact, I still mess up the TT>jc>MMHS more often than not.

Just goes to show… you can’t be half-assed on the quest to be the best.

You need A LOT of dedication to be really good with her. Lucky for me, I am supremely dedicated. :3

My buddies told me the same thing but it’s kind of a badge of honor to know that there’s no easy wins with her. I think it makes your wins sweeter and helps you learn the game faster too.

I actually think X23 is harder to use/learn than Felicia, her execution seems a bit trickier too. They’re both rush down characters with claws and two X chromosomes, I like them both :3

ok, i will try to spend time on felicia, but if i only play on weekends and i’m a newb at fighting games will i be good with her? i’ll go into practice alot to learn to perform good combos

also, i need help after the toy touch, i can’t get the second medium attack after the jump cancel, they always air recover aftre the firt air hit

are they really using felicia for real now or are they doing it for teh lulz?

please don’t tell me everyone is gonna bandwagon felicia now?

or will she be like storm, pro’s play her but she’s barely used outside of competitive play
