The way you two describe it makes me think it’s an option select of some kind. So just basically tiger knee the input and if I don’t get the hyper I still get a JC?
I’m just trying to do it in the corner, I’m still as of yet unable to do it midscreen.
It’s not REALLY an option select. I mean, yes, you’ll still get a JC, but it will be late so you won’t be able to continue the combo, but at the very least you’ll be able to keep your forward momentum.
I do it like Shiki only with D rather than DB to start. There’s generally only two things you have to worry about; making sure to press M with DF and being quick enough from DF to DU+Atx2. I don’t even think of it as a rolling motion, just three separate inputs.
Practice it in the corner first so you don’t need to worry about the dash, can add it in later when you’ve got the hang of it.
I find that doing DF+M D DF F UF+Atx2 I’m always too slow or something and never get the Hyper, just end up with the jump cancel

Edit: With the Air Throw reset after Toy Touch if you do B+MH then you get the throw if they do nothing (obviously), if they attack you block and get an Advancing Guard and if somehow they try throwing you first you’ll get a Break Away. Only problem is you throw them out of the corner with this method Alternative if they start mashing buttons you can just walk forward and catch them with another launch.

Anyways, I was looking into that DHC trick with Deadpool/Felicia and I got this nifty little combo here:
DP: j.:s:, c.:l::h::s: j. :h::s: Katana-Rama! into Chimichangas!! (:f::d::df::h:>:h:) follow up with :h: into :l: Quick Work (:qcb::l:) into Cuttin’ Time (:qcb: :atk::atk:). Right before the last hit, DHC into Felicia’s Kitty Helper (:f::d::df: :atk::atk:).
Felicia: While your opponent is still spinning in the air, dash up to them and use the Toy Touch BnB combo (:df: j.:h::s: land :s:, j.:h::s:) OTG with Toy Touch again into Dancing Flash (:qcf::atk::atk:)
Result was over 900,000 damage with two bars and no X-factor. :3

Some interesting things on that video, Toy Touch jump cancel into L Cat Spike cancel into Dancing Flash though that’s probably going to be a fair bit harder than just simply jump cancelling it into Dancing Flash. H Jump Spike into PHM though not really sure how practical that is.
Are you sure Toy Touch isn’t just straight-up hyper-cancelable in the first place? I’m not even sure you have to go all the way to up-forward, though I admit that I don’t think I’ve checked this with input display on.
No, you HAVE to use :uf: after the Toy Touch to get the hyper to work. Toy Touch has too much ending lag to be hyper canceled alone.
EDIT: Something interesting to notice, but you can’t use the :l::df: combo after Rolling Buckler Slide on MODOK. Just throwing that out there in case someone didn’t know before.
Pretty sure it requires a jump cancel, Sixfortyfive. Can’t check at the moment, but the Bradygames guide says it requires it, and I don’t recall it working without. It basically cancels into nothing except jump and X-factor.

Here’s something I just started messing around with - partnering Felicia up with two characters who can stay in powered up status while assists, with Felicia in the back and the best of those partners as your point character. Once I get to three supers - Partner A Power-Up, DHC Partner B Power-Up, DHC Kitty Helper. I now have Felicia, with a helper, with two powered-up assists - unlimited pressure.
Now you’re playing with power.
Now to just know what characters would be best for this.
Dante (Devil Trigger), Arthur (Golden Armor), Hsien-Ko (Hyper Armor), Wolverine (Speed Boost), Zero (Sougenmu) and Amaterasu (Veil of Mist - not an actual assist status, but could definitely be beneficial) are all that come immediately to my mind, but I’m likely missing some.
I’m personally planning Dante (Jam)/Arthur(Bottles)/Felicia, although Dante(Jam)/Hsien-Ko(Pend)/Felicia sounds pretty damn appealing as well.
The H Cat Spike into PHM? Problem with it is you have very little time after it hits to land PHM so you kinda need to know that it’s going to hit in the first place. Also I think you could probably do a simple juggle into it for a bit more damage, I was getting LMH xx Rolling Buckler > Neko Punch xx PHM to work but was kinda fiddly.
I was wondering about that, and I couldn’t really find a good list.
What DOES combo into PHM? I thought only Buckler Medium could, as well as Dancing Flash > Xfactor > PHM, but what else? It’s hard to land in a match, and I can’t practice it due to lack of knowledge and hand’s-on training time.
As far as I know, Rolling Buckler Slide into PHM and :h: Cat Spike combos into PHM. Does Neko Punch go into PHM without an assist? Somebody confirm this.
Immediately after a Rolling Buckler Slide is probably the easiest way (and cheapest). Dancing Flash KFC immediately after the launching kick (there’s a little leeway but not much). H Cat Spike needs immediate activation as well (so no chance of hit-confirming). You can do it after Neko Punch if it hits them reasonably high up, so basically after a bounce but getting the right height is pretty hard.
I’ve gotten LMH(3 hits) xx Rolling Buckler Slide > LMH(3 hits) Rolling Buckler Neko Punch xx PHM to work. Works better in the corner, probably character specific mid-screen as got it to work on She-Hulk but on Viper it was either missing or was getting Dancing Flash due to going under her with Rolling Buckler.
Pretty obvious that in the corner you don’t need to guess which way they’ll do air recovery after Toy Touch for air throw resets, jumping towards them and grabbing works all the time. After Dancing Flash and Rolling Buckler Uppercut a well placed backwards jump can catch both forward air recovery and no recovery (backwards obviously doesn’t move them anywhere :3 Actually I’ve noticed that “mistiming” Toy Touch won’t pop them up high enough to grab them, I get the feeling that being too quick with it gets this result.
Edit: ROFLwaffles just found out that Deadpool’s Quick Work makes life a lot easier for comboing into Dancing Flash after Toy Touch, especially mid-screen since I don’t even need to dash. Just simply call him before the Toy Touch, quick Toy Touch then Quick Work connects making them spin and Dancing Flash to finish. Sadly doesn’t seem like there’s enough time for PHM Quick correction, does work if you jump cancel Toy Touch into PMH (DF+M D DB B UB+Atx2) :3 Not close enough outside of the corner though
Just found out you can cancel a L Cat Spike into PHM, it’s pretty damn hard to do though (for me at least)
I try to do Felicia’s reset in the corner after toy touch (jump up and grab), but I don’t see how it’s viable at all. My friends have all learned to mash it out, and I never can hit.
Is there some way to punish them if they mash like that?
