The way I see it they made a lot of her old crappy tools better to the point of awesome and a couple of her better tools not so good (but still pretty good) whilst giving her a couple of new tricks (also pretty awesome).
I don’t know why they couldn’t make Sand Splash a QCB motion, maybe they thought it’s too good to use at will so gave it a charge.
Delta Kick travels practically the whole screen now so don’t need to use it in the air to get distance, suppose it means we can’t change our trajectory but that’s the price we pay for being able to travel far and combo after it I suppose.
Super Sand Splash wasn’t that great, pretty sure it did less damage than Dancing Flash and it never seemed to juggle fully, I only ever used it for chip or as a full screen punish. I guess without it we can’t do “safe” chip damage but we got Kitty Helper instead, which I think is infinitely better
Sand splash super was really good in mvc2, it was good for chip or for punishing from full screen. It was good for dhc aswell.
Very disapointed that they didn’t include that super, that and morrigans soul eraser.
Sand splash special being a charge move is retarded.
Does anyone here know if these changes make felicia more comparable to her VS incarnation? Because that’s what it looks like they were aiming for with her and morrigan.
I used Felicia all the time in MvC2. but I can definitely say she’s a better character here.
I got used to no Sand Splash at all in Vampire Savior, so that’s not really a big deal. Even in MvC2, it wasn’t a must have move, and the Super version wasn’t that great either.
The only thing I don’t like is that Please Help Me is a level 3, and harder to hit with. I loved spamming PHM in MvC2 at every opportunity, even pulling it off three times in one combo. Still, she’s better now, as that PHM spamming kinda made her a one-trick pony.
MvC2 I could only combo PHM in the corner otherwise they were pushed too far away Being able to connect it after a simple c.L if they didn’t tech roll was pretty fun too
I’m sure you guys have seen The Danger Room Ep1 on the front page, nice Felicia tip there (to be honest I had played around with it a little before ).
Hehe DLC is something I’ve been wondering about too. I guess the most logical choice would be her nun’s habit
Yeah, I kinda already knew about the throw reset, but now I know options if the opponent mashes light out of it. Always nice to see her getting attention.
I have a bit of a problem. After a normal bnb(which includes air launch etc), I’ve seen many times that you can do her dancing flash hyper but for the life of me I cant do it. I’m sure players use Toy Touch ->Dancing flash so what am I doing wrong?
As far as I know, it’s just supposed to be an imitation of an angry cat hissing/shrieking. But yeah, it sounds like “Cookie!” Interestingly, that voice clip was in Vampire Hunter/Night Warrior’s data, albeit unused.
Also, Kitty The Helper’s kitten is actually named Alto. Pico is the one with the braids (the initial striker in the LK+MK version of Please Help me in Savior).
Just got the game today, and I can saftely say that Felicia was the funnest character I played out of the few I’ve tried. Now to try to impliment all her mission mode trials into an actualy game (Fuck).
the motion is kinda tricky. You have to do the motion of the super so :d: :df: :f: and on the :df: you press and on the :f: you press :atk: :atk: :uf: it’s called super jump cancelling. Practice it by itself before you go trying it in matches or your gonna look like a fool. Common mistakes include pressing before :df: which doesn’t otg. Another problem is a rolling buckler comes out because you pressed too late.
Damn. I kept reflexively calling her “Alto” but always told myself afterwards that it was Pico.
For those of you who don’t know, Felicia’s friends (and herself) are actually the incarnations of her 9 souls (based on the old superstition that “all cats have 9 lives”). These details of her are explained in the Darkstalkers lore.
You also can just raw Toy Touch into TK motion. I find the timing easier, though the motion is obviously harder. On top of that, I can decide with a little more time if I want to Dancing Flash or just continue the combo.
Only names I remembered were Alto and Lucy - because one was the Dark Force and the other was the tall, badass looking one with a bandana.
By the way, I’m sure you all saw the “Kill Dark Phoenix at her Resurrection” deal with Akuma, Haggar, etc. Felicia can very easily (more easily than most of the ones shown on the front page) do the same deal with Please Help Me. It’s great, you don’t even need to have perfect timing or anything. Just kill her, and at some point between her kneeling and the actual Super freeze, do Please Help Me, and it’ll connect and kill.
As for DLC costumes, I’m hoping for a costume inspired by Katt/Rinpoo from Breath of Fire II or Yellow Iris from Battle Circuit. If not that, then maybe one of the costumes from Cross Edge. She looked pretty damn cute in a school girl outfit. If not that, then give her the costume she wore in the ending for Capcom Fighting Evolution for flare. http://udoncrew.deviantart.com/gallery/471845#/dysei4
Yeah, Gamma Wave is the same way. Looks like Capcom made a lot of Charge moves really good to make up for the fact that they’re charge moves in a Vs. Game.
