MvC3 coming soon?

If you don’t want to criticized for always bringing up, just don’t do it. You know that people get annoyed with it, but you still do it. No one is faulting you for having an opinion, just that you always are bringing up the fact that yours is different.

SNK, Arc and Examu are still rocking the 2D though, so it’s not like it’s all dead and gone. And hopefully, they will keep this proud tradition alive :china:

I think you’re missing the point, I don’t see anyone saying 3d>2d, it’s just that HD 2d for this game is completely unrealistic unless you want either a really small amount of characters, or the game to come out in like 10 years.

Different than what?

Yours?

I think you’ll find that a LOT of people prefer 2D sprite - both traditional, and BB-esque - over 3D ones.

While we’re on the subject: Why do you have to bring up your opinion against his?

It would seem that you have a rather vested interest in this “debate” too.

The only difference being that you’re going the good ol’ fail-safe savagery of democracy route to try and snuff his out.

I happen to think that the 3D sprites suck toothily in comparison to 2D sprites, too.

And I’m totally with Hara, and would go one further and assert that that was the best damned post pootnannies has ever made on SRK.

I hope SnK & Arc will see this post.

:expressionless:

All I’m saying is that if he doesn’t want people to openly disagree with his opinion, he shouldn’t post it. If he doesn’t care that they call him out, then by all means post what you got to say. Just don’t act all offended that they disagree with you.

Well, yeah.

Absolutely.

I want Morrigan to have her Eternal Slumber super back.

Also give Felicia a super where she turns into a giant cat and plays with her opponent like a mouse.

Completely serious btw.

ileakinfo: MVC3 is nothing like TVC

what does that mean?

Also they better use Morrigan’s TVC model for like the next 15+ years.

That it doesn’t suck, one would hope.

Obviously it means that it’s going to be a good game.

I would assume that it’s cheaper to go the 3D route. I think a lot of it has to do with frame rate and sheer amount of drawing that is acceptable in a modern game. Looking around my local industry, there are fewer and fewer artists that are able to produce the level of drawing&animation consistently(this case is probably different in Japan though). The current times support 3D, and as such it only makes sense to me that 3D resources are easier and cheaper to come by.

And the skill level required to animate the Simpsons greatly differs from a game that moves like 3S. It would be a difficult comparison. Animation ability and drawing ability used to go hand and hand, it’s not necessarily the case anymore with today’s animators.

I too would like to see a 2D game but if mvc3 goes 3D I wouldn’t mind as long as there is an attempt at unique art direction. SF4 for all the hate that it gets (a lot of which i agree with) at least tried to be something visually different from all the other 3D fighters out there. As opposed to 3D, I think boundaries of 2D animation are plateauing and being pushed at a far lower rate.

It’s a good idea to get used to 3D staying for a while, and encourage good art direction/visual innovation… IMO…

I agree. Look at Alpha 2, Super Turbo (NOT HDR) and Marvel 1.

They said expect ton of characters…I hope this isn’t at the cost of the game being well balanced. Also Capcom said they were going 2.5D permanately so I would expect this to be 2.5D like SF4.

How can you complain about character balance before the game is even out? Doesn’t this violate some rule of space time?

When they say a ton of characters, do they mean compared to MvC2 or compared to a fighting game in transition. If they mean compared to MvC2 then I will be fucking shocked. 60+ characters in a new fighting game? Talk about raising the bar.

Unless they reusing all the Capcom and all the Tatsunoko characters I honestly would be surprised if this game turned out more then 40 characters. Let alone = or > MvC2 massive character roster.

If thats what they’re going for then I could see 20 Capcom, 20 Marvel and 20 Tatsunoko to round out a big ass roster.

If you want a balanced vs game tvc is for you. Marvel VS’s games are suppose to be random cheesy and chaotic.

The only thing that worries me is that how making this a console only title is going to effect the development of it.

Um, you do realize “Tatsunoko” is nowhere in the title of this game, right?
