MvC3: Becoming a Hellcat: The Felicia Combo Thread

If you’re doing 2 jump MMHS loops in the corner, the second jump should be a neutral jump. Otherwise you can usually only get 1 hit of the following s.H to connect instead of all 3.

What combos do you guys use when you get a happy birthday and can’t rely on ADK or Sand Splash out of fear that one of the opposing characters will fall out?

Anyone using Missiles with Felicia? What do you do to extend combos with it?

Check out Shady K, he uses Felicia with Dooms Missiles. The best way to use it is at the end of a combo using it as an OTG then L cat spike into hyper

I see how he uses it but I don’t really think that’s the most optimal use.

Well thats just to extend combos, the way i like to use is to use the missiles to put them in block stun and after the last missile hits hit then with c.L then grab them with Hell Cat M or L.

Anything fun I can do to add damage with Jam Session or Weasel Shots? Kind of got a new theory team that if I can get Felicia down is def gonna convert me…

What is the best way to approach with Felicia if my opponent knows how to punish Delta kick spam. I don’t have a proyectile assist to make the Delta kick safe if they dodge it and attack me from behind. Should I be using cat spike L for getting close or what other tools?

I am new to Felix. Is this thread updated for Ultimate? Can I do all of the combos on the first page in Ultimate?

I personally use one of two general combos in most circumstances:

Combo 1
starting from: jumping/standing/crouching normals, Delta Kick, Cat Spike, or assist confirms against a grounded opponent
combo: starter -> c.:l: s.:m: b.:h: xx Rolling Buckler H xx Rolling Slide -> s.:l::m: xx Toy Touch xx j.:m::m::h::s: s.:h: c.:h: s.:s: sj.:m::m::h: xx Air Delta Kick -> c.:h: s.:s: sj.:h::s: -> finisher

Combo 2:
starting from: air throw, back throw, Hell Cat, Please Help Me, or Rolling Buckler xx Rolling Slide -> s.:l::m:
combo: starter -> Toy Touch xx j.:m::m::h::s: j.:m::m::h::s: s.:h: c.:h: s.:s: sj.:m::m::h: xx Air Delta Kick -> c.:h: s.:s: sj.:h::s: -> finisher

Finishers for both combos:
option 1 (if I can’t KO or don’t want to use meter): Toy Touch into reset (usually via air throw or assist setups)
option 2 (if I can KO with 1 bar or wish to DHC): Sand Splash H xx Dancing Flash
option 3 (if I can KO with 3 bars): Sand Splash H xx Please Help Me

Notes:

  • Timing the final sj.:h::s: in either combo so that you can connect Sand Splash afterward can be difficult. If you super jump straight up, delay the :h::s: for as long as possible, immediately begin charging the back direction, immediately backdash once landing, and perform Sand Splash before the backdash ends. You can also super jump up-backward, which allows you to do the grounded follow up without backdashing but may have different timing requirements otherwise; can’t remember, as I usually just backdash.
  • You must delay the :s: attack in the first jump loop in combo 2 in order for the whole thing to connect. This is easier to perform on characters with tall hitboxes, as you have more leeway to delay your hits. Against small characters, you may want to do only one jump loop.
  • When performing combo 2 in the corner, you must perform the second jump loop from a straight upward jump in order for the following s.:h: to fully connect. If you forward jump, the 2nd and 3rd hits of the s.:h: may whiff.

Thanks alot for that, Sixfortyfive. Felix is a lot of fun and I’m trying to find the best team to utilize both her and Morrigan. I can’t quite figure out who that other character should be.

But I will definitely practice these combos, as they are not as difficult as I thought they would be. Morrigan seems a lot more difficult to use than Felix.

Has found a decent confirm off disruptah assist? I have been doing s::m toy touch into jump loopx2, but im just curious if there is a better one?

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me two aspects of Felicia BnB comboing:

[]What’s the purpose of linking cr. L instead of st. L after Rolling Buckler H > Slide? St. L apparently makes the link more forgiving by a frame, and doesn’t drop the combo if my left hand decides to cramp up. I’m losing, what, 9k damage at most?

]What’s the purpose of even using Rolling Buckler H > M in combos instead of the M version? It starts up 2 frames slower, so wouldn’t that make it more of a risk to drop after b.H? For what, an extra 10k damage before scaling?

I just ask because I’m pretty consistent with my Felicia combos, but I always quadruple-tap M for the Buckler>Slide and never crouch for the L-link. Is it worth retraining my muscle memory for the (at most) 19k damage? I mean, does the cr. L make the jump loop easier somehow, or does the Heavy Buckler chain better from DP+M, st.M xx b.H?

It makes the timing after the rolling buckler more forgiving in case they drop too low to catch them with the st.:l:

Does anyone have a tough time doing her combos online? I just started learning them, I can do her BnB combo in training but I’m a bit worried about doing it online because she is one fast kitty.

Laura is my boo but I’m liking how Felicia doesn’t need an OTG assist so Cat Power might replace her.

yeah, you have to optimize some for online play cuz of the lag but you can still a little bit over 700k dmg solo with her so its not too bad

Just picked her up and having a lot of issues with those BnBs.

[*]In the corner how do i do the :s:, sjc.:h::s:? I jump back wards and im forced to do it too soon to allow enough time to land with sand splash, if i jump straight up, the sand splash is too close so that only the 1st hit lands and isn’t enough hitstun at the end of a combo to land my hyper

Yeah all of her links are tight, i usually connect them when I don’t delay anything even the Guide says practice them daily lol. In the corner while doing ther :h::s: going i usually start holding :b: already so when I land the sand splash is ready. A good BnB do use while you still try to get you execution down with her is this video. I would put the notations down but its so simple i would feel like im offending you. This combo net 642K dmg but you can easily raise that number to 720-40 cuz this is the type combo you can build on and is online friendly if you play just for match up experience.
