I think we can sum things up with two very simple words: “soft ban”.
DPh isn’t “banned” by any sense of the word, but sort of like how Japan treats O. Sagat, when people see her against certain teams, they know that other team is severely neutered.
Just an opinion, I really feel like a lot of people don’t use Phoenix because they don’t find her fun. Knowing you have to hold back on super bar to make her the threat she is is just most people’s cup of tea. Some people do find that sudden burst of terrifying power fun though. A month ago we thought we were facing a Phoenix outbreak, now its Wolvie.
One thing I have noticed about this recent Wolverine surge though is that many are putting him in the second slot rather than the first. Why? Because XFC2 is better than XFC1. Once again, I think Wolverine is a good, but XFC is making things look worse than they are.

Also with phoenix teams, I don’t have to worry about random full-screen supers and the match time is my friend if I’m succesful.
Teleporters aren’t much of a problem, if you can keep them still.
Well, it’s not just that. Having Wolvie on second slot (I do this too, but started before the actual “surge” began–he was one of my ‘for fun’ teams) allows you to DHC trick into him to almost guaranteed kill any character with 1 mil HP or less. Also, it allows you to ‘feel out’ your opp with your first character while keeping your second character protected for when you have a better understanding of how the match is going. Sometimes, it’s better to have your *best *character second so that they don’t get randomed out at the beginning of the fight and you face an uphill battle afterwards.
But yes, XF2 is also better than XF1. Can’t deny that, either.

This is a good list except I’d move Captain America up a tier (or two) since I think he’s being slept on (a little bit) and I would swap She Hulk and Amaterasu.
Not to sound like a broken record, but, not counting assists, Thor is better than Haggar, Tron, Hulk, Iron Man (yes Iron Man), Spiderman, Skrull, Modok, Ryu, Chun, Chris and everyone in your bottom tier.
Tron should be nowhere near high tier.
She-Hulk, Hulk, Haggar and Spiderman are too high.
Dog and Thor are too low.
I agree except with two:
Thor is not better than Tron and Chris. Possibly even with Iron Man but not one has unlocked all of Iron Mans potential. Thor and Iron Man are similar in mobility after all.
I agree with this guy, mostly cause he is cute but also because he has a good point on Cap.
Tron is good. Jumping H is one of those moves that even though you know it is coming you will get hit by it on occasion. Like a Sentinel frying pan/cr.M, or Haggar pipe. You know they will happen but sometimes you are caugh pressing buttons.
I also like Tron as someone to wear off level 3 XFC. people in L3 always want to press buttons, perfect time for Jump H into a smoke break combo that takes a TON of time off that broken X Factor. You get great damage out of it too but the time the combo takes from start to finish is the important part.
Of course if you have XFC still and the meter to DHC and kill the character you would go to that option first lol
Tron and Haggar are both terrible on point.Thought this was commonly agreed on.
She’s 100x better as an assist but when people are OCVing with her on point it clearly shows she’s good in any spot.
Same with Haggar. I’ve seen way too many people get blown up by Haggar to put him any lower.
Actually no. They thrive with an assist to help them. Of course you want the assist but you can do a lot of effective things by using Tron on point with an assist and DHC tricking into the next. Legitimate strategy that doesn’t live Tron as a liability.
If Haggar can get in on you, he is scary as hell.
