With the right assist, I think Wolvie should be considered one of the best duos. These 4 are just as good with the right assist imo and can literally be throw onto any team and work there because they have solid assist and work well with so many assist. Wolverine doesn’t have that same level of synergy.
Wesker when he OTGs after his combo, he gets a better mixup than Wolverine does after his. Tank life, no need to spend meter, simple and effective. This is probably who Wolverine is trying to dethrone but Wesker’s just so good everywhere he won’t unless Capcom intervenes.
Magneto is just better at it all. The meter, the damage, the dropped combos becoming free OS throws.
Dante is just lacking damage off throws from his arsenal.
Ammy can do it all and she does it all very well, keepaway, rushdown, etc. Her small hitbox is stupider than Wolverine’s. Okami Shuffle is stupid good, Shuffle and Slow are great hypers for like virtually every team.
Wolverine just replaced Sentinel as press some buttons get results character, just not that bad. Divekick is the new frying pan. Begin snapping in his assist or blowing XF early to take him out the game.

Dante can get 1m off air throws starting from just 1 meter with proper assist so yeah.
Dante lacks a good answer to rushdown. He is at a huge disadvantage when being pressured. 8 frame normals ain’t cutting it.
I think Dante becomes truly gdlk with Tron/Haggar/Doom assist to buff his defence and allow him to kill you for not respecting his assist.
Wolverine is just gdlk at rushdown and hitconfirms into crazy damage. His mix up is damn good as well and he can just do shit and not give two fucks and still be in a good position.
Comparing him to herp derp sentinel who only blows up mashers at a basic level is pretty retarded
I really don’t think Dante has a weakness to rushdown. If people start getting close just toss that sword out there and they are bound to run into it. I mean sure if you get knocked down and they are on top of you he has issues but so does a lot of the cast. It is natural because this game rewards offense much more than defense.
As far as Wesker v Wolvie on point yea sure Wesker has better mix ups post OTG but Wolverine has better mixups for the first hit which is much more important IMO. Wolvies wake up mixups aren’t bad because its basically another left/right guess.
Oh yea and Wolvie is much better in the 2 for 1 department. If you call out that assist when Wolvie is nearby then whoops… your point character better have been blocking becaue if not 2 characters are dead 8 seconds in. Then you have 0 assist to get him off of you while he still has his and pretty much can impose his will on anyone.

I was comparing the hype and overexaggeration to Sent. Wolverine does press some buttons, get a hit (instead of super armor, Wolverine has claws that hit further out than his vulernable hit box and his moves are FAST). Divekick is getting used like Sent’s jS was lol. Wolverine is way better than Sent and has a way better gameplan.
yoo i do exactly what nissan says. if people do get even within half screen distance, i toss out st.m or cr.m with an assist just to make people think twice about getting close. but if they do get in and you ain’t running tron or haggar, it is gonna be annoying for dante to get out. especially when being pressured by people such as ammy and logan.
I don’t see why Wolvie can’t be in the Top6. Where did this Top5 thing come from? Marvel 2 only had a Top4 so I know it’s not that.
No idea, think it was just a starting point for discussion but being right after 5 isn’t bad. He’s 6 or 7 in my mind. It’s a discussion, it would be boring if we all agreed.

This is what I was thinking as well. Ammy is good and versatile, but I for one know when I see Ammy on the screen I don’t feel like I should always be on my toes lest I eat a billion damage from Herpderker Slash Or Derpaccetptable. Wolverine is a fucking terror, especially if he’s got cover on the way in. Ammy has great tools and works in a variety of situations but I don’t think she has quite the comeback factor or big WTF damage bursts that Wolverine has.
Exactly. Ammy’s damage output and X-Factor especially don’t compare to Wolvie. What she does have on her side is that I think she wins almost every match up, and is probably on the higher side of the more lop-sided match ups in the game.
I agree with Wolvie replacing Ammy.

Exactly. Wolverine has that explosion of damage that ammy can’t compare with. Of course she can start or end the DHC glitch, but if wolv catches 2 characters in a combo, Xfactor lvl 1 and they are both dead from probably the easiest BNB in the game. Ammy is a very well rounded character with her weapons and counters and hypers, but wolverine has that mix of simple, damaging, and hard to block that’s just really hard to deal with.
We’re not talking about other games, Floe uses She-hulk/Dante/Dorm. One of the less tier whorish teams out there

how the fuck is wolverine overrated? hes easily the fastest character in the game and his ground pressure game is unmatched.
as for magneto being this all mighty unbeatable god; this is not mvc2 magneto, hes actually blockable in mvc3. if you can block 25% of magnetos shit in mvc2, you’ll do fine in mvc3 vs him.
