Since the range on c.L and s.H kara L grab is pretty similar you can do a tick c.L after a wave dash that puts you next to the opponent and you’ll be in range for the grab. Basically anything inside of the max range of c.L should get you the grab minus some characters with funny hit boxes against grabs like She Hulk or Sent.
Another set up is c.M at near point blank range, walk up just a tad then kara L grab.
You don’t really wanna do long block strings in this game any way unless the block string gives you like major frame advantage on block or an attack in the string specifically has a property that bypasses advance guard. Advance guard pretty much negates any long block strings unless you have an assist out or are using a move or technique that specifically beats it. Plus with shorter strings like c.L, wait c.L or c.L wait c.M you can bait the person mashing on advance guard at a time when you’re not actually forcing them to block which will cause them to wave dash and get hit.
I’ll have to try Wesker tomorrow, I like characters that can do dirty stuff with command grabs.
The reason I asked about doing it off a blockstring is because that’s how I do it with She-Hulk. cr.L, cr.M, cr.H xx H Command Grab if they don’t pushblock and cr.L, cr.M xx H Command Grab if they do. So good.
You can get over 650 -700k off Wesker’s command grab by DHC-ing into Dante’s million dollars which costs less meter overall and gives you the option to create a mixup situation by while you’re doing Wesker’s combo. More options are better IMO but the DHC trick gets more style points even though it’s hella easy to initiate with Wesker.
Pardon me if I’m missing something obvious, as I don’t use She-Hulk, but how are you canceling a blocked heavy normal (or any normal for that matter) to grab? Does her command throw still grab when they’re in block stun?? I’ll start playing She-hulk tonight if it does lol

I think what he means is She-Hulk’s command grab comes out as they leave block stun and grabs them. I do the same with Wesker (although I usually just tap a single light and then command grab).
He and I live roughly in the same area. It’s not actually Philly but we’re close enough to Philly that you might as well say you are.
Oh wait, doesnt one of her command throws run first? Is that the H one? If not, I didnt realize the move was so slow they’d be out of a heavy normal’s block stun before being grabbed. Might be fun to mess with.
