I like Iron Man’s beam assist over Doom’s also.

Magneto as anchor is not optimizing him as a character at all though, he’s still better than 90% of characters but just putting him there isnt good. He excels with assist to aid his rushdown, rushdown in this game is otherwise too random and gambling on who hits who in some scramble without a good cover. His assist are poor versions of what other characters have to offer and his health is so low that one super can cripple him as an assist. As xf lvl 3 he doesnt have any cover so you are basically gambling with random rushdown, plus you can’t deal enough chip damage like akuma or sentinal to be a real threat. Mags basically can do tons of damage by himself and is fast enough to open people up without the aid of xf, so using it on him is basically wasting its use.
To me on paper Wolverine IS GOOD. I don’t see how anybody could deny that he isn’t good right now. Wolverine has little hit confirm struggles,average heath, low hitbox, dhc glitch friendly,good footies,etc. Nevermind that he has a frame advantage dive kick that has to be chicken blocked in order to punish Wolverine.
Same shit with Taskmaster. The guy got super practical combos that get near 910k with a single decent assist…with no meter. He got good range, priority, super easy inputs, synergy with the cast,etc.
I never actually seen that in reality to be honest. He is just an underplayed character to me. The reason why Haggar could be considered low tier is because we seen dozens of Break Weekly/WNF stream that has Haggar fucked by himself. One could even debate that we seen Hsien-Kos do better than Haggar has.
Have we seen the same with MODOK? I haven’t seen enough that at WNF/Break Weekly/IPLAYWINNER/etc. I would agree if there is enough evidence for that. By all means prove my ass wrong. I’m cool we debate by results, but I want to see the evidence.

I love magneto’s assist. (I use EMD)
My She-hulk makes great use of it for obvious reasons, and I’ve worked it into several combos where other beam assists would not have worked.
[J.B, J.C, J.S]x2 (on last j.S call mag assist - it pops them into air) [J.B, J.C, J.S]x2 or x3 into a jab, for a quick reset.
Modok gets a lot of use out of it since EMD is so quick I can call barrier and assist at the same time, provided the opponent doesn’t have a beam super and meter. Then fly and shoot a beam over the barrier with modok and use Mag’s EMD to hit them if they are on the ground.
I suppose I have very strange team synergy though.

Everything I said was based on current results that I’ve seen, though I admit what I said sounded incredibly ambiguous. I’ll be the first person to admit that I’ll probably be wrong as time passes and MODOK players really put the time into him. The only reason I even mentioned the whole “base tiers by results” was because I was countering his comment about how he thinks MODOK is X tier because he wins online matches with him.
And if you’ve been watching WNF, I think you can agree with me that we actually have seen Hsien-Ko doing better than Hagger. LLND was blowing my mind last night.
Alright, I’m happy someone enjoyed it. I have a huge text document filled with little things I’ve found, but since I’ve been playing modok for less than 72 hours the MODOK section is a little light.
The only videos are ones of me vs floe or marn and its pretty much just me playing tron (who i’ve since dropped) against them.

I cut it short.
At the jab I call modok barrier assist, if they tech one way, they get She-Hulk AA command grab, or AA supered. If they tech the other way, I can still command grab them, but if I miss I can dash back into the safety of my shield.
If they use a move that collides with the shield its nullified, and punished- so its a very advantageous position.

I knew MODOK had what it takes.
I tried to use Modok/Storm/Tron at the start, since Storm rules and Tron and Modok have joysticks, but it wasnt well thaught out.\
Maybe Ill go back for some more Modok fun, now that I know I can set up the Reset Glitch with them

I tried Mag/Modok/Tron at some point but I really don’t like tron as the last character, it feels like you’re playing 2 characters and an assist.

May have been, I only play online once/twice a week if that. I can’t do any combs in lagtown. I get on anyway because I’m pretty ripe by then, so I just go into troll mode. If it was IWorstplayerI and like DoK/dorm/sent that’s me and my minimal inputs team lol

The whole argument about who should be the anchor Wesker or Magneto is really dumb because either of those guys are both capable of tearing shit up in 4 seconds with XFCheap 3. One is probably better than the other but both are so fucking good and kill people in 7 herpityderp hits it really shouldn’t matter.
Also Wesker’s DHC glitch starter of Mustang kick is so useless. The whole point of the DHC glitch is to reset the damage and hit stun scaling and with Mustang Kick you are reseting a whopping 100K+ or whatever and 1 whopping hit. Plus you can just combo after the command grab into air series into OTG gunshot = free mix up, which you should be going for all the time with him anyways.
Also, this heated Iron Man debate has made me want to pick up IM and explore him myself since I see some people (not just from this thread) say he is really good, some say he is OK, and some say he is ass. Would be fun to figure it out myself, plus Tony is one of the sickest Marvel heros.

Iron Man is not and never will be ass. Let’s get that out there. His normals are too damned good and he’s too damned fast. He sucks if you’re lazy and like Wolverine better but that’s about it. Wolverine is the SFIV Bipson of the game…don’t need to know much and you can kick people around. The only way to not have trouble with him was pick a character that like defeated the purpose of the character like Guile. Wolverine is like that but on a greater scale where there probably wont be anyone that legit gives him problems for a while.
Either way doesn’t mean other characters that force you to actually learn something other than 2 moves can’t be good also.
