Where are you guys getting this info as far as the patch is concerned?

Sent is weak against Morrigan, Dante, Wesker, Chun, Magneto, Phoenix, Ammy, Zero, Akuma, Wolverine. When a character as at a severe disadvantage against that many characters, he/she cannot be top tier.

If the HP reduction is accurate, he’s going to disappear from a number of teams.
Completely uncalled for.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way lol.

Sent still has one of the best assists in the game, but now that assist might actually get punished when it’s out instead of being nearly impossible to kill (this was one of my biggest peevs about his high health - I could wail on him if I caught him in an assist but still couldn’t kill him). And he’s still a solid character.

I guess 1000k health would have made sense too but I’m not gonna argue lol

They should have nerfed X-factor, not sentinel.

I agree that this is stupid. It’s WAY too early to be making drastic changes like this. Cutting sent’s life down by almost a third is a huge nerf, even more than the most scrubby sent-denouncers would have asked for. I’m also not too happy with Spencer losing anything. He was awesome, sure, but far from too good.

even gief in vanilla sf4 didnt take a health nerf this big.

they should have kept his health at 1,000,000 at the very least.

1.3 million health was a bit of an overkill, but 1.3 mil to 900,000? are you fuckin serious capcom?!?

Yeah that makes sense if you put someone in an assist trap because then you get to stay in after the S which allows u to fish with it.

Oh and Sent with 900k health sounds like the worst character in the game. Captain America sounds like god compared to Sent now. With that huge hit box everyone just gonna take risks all day vs Sent now. Like wow. That was definitely a balance to make sure people dont return the game to gamestop. Not a tourney balance at all. Captain America health should have been the absolute minimum he went down too. He just doesn’t have the offensive technologies to support that low health.

You wont be seeing Sent in every team anymore that’s for sure. Dante is like 3 times better than Sent now that he has the same health as Sent lol. I was hoping they would keep this game broke like it was but…now I don’t know. It’s basically if your character looks too good on justintv expect a tone down. Shit is stupid.

This is pretty much going to be Dante vs. Marvel the way shit is going.

sentinel’s assist was godly because he could take the punishment, but arthur’s dagger assist starts up faster and recovers faster so he’s less vulnerable. i wonder if drones lovers are gonna make the switch?

Here’s an interesting thought balance-wise. Do people have an issue with lvl. 3 XFC or just XFC in general? I ask because I’ve seen several mentions where people would prefer they simply downgrade the XFC benefits (i.e. lvl. 1 becomes lvl. 2, lvl. 2 becomes lvl. 3, etc.) and it got me thinking that that doesn’t really address the issue that XFC creates. Namely the ability, even with just lvl. 1 + meter, to one shot many characters and the fact that characters disproportionately benefit from it (i.e. some characters get waaaaay more of a boost from X-factor than others). It also creates, to a point, a slippery slope comeback mechanic that while interesting in theory (exciting end-games) results in practice show otherwise (people running away from XFCed opponents while XFC drains). What if instead of a damage and speed boost XFC only provided the move and blockstun canceling that it now provides? What if you started the match with one XFC stocked and got another one every time a character died? Anyone think that might work or is the move canceling ability still too broken to use repeatedly?

Yes! so glad they nerfed sent, I can finally take him off my team and see some character diversity online and in tourneys… You gootta keep in mind that prior to nerf, Sentinel had the most health (higher than hulk, which made no sense) and he’s still able to fly,wave dash, cmd grab, hyper armor, hard to punish hypers, easy otg hyper combos, etc… he still has everything that made him annoying to deal with but now has less health. Seems fair

Fuck this patching after 1 month bullshit. Let the game evolve that is the funnest part. The people who are crying the chants of “NERF SENT!” over and over again are the ones who are going to go back and play Call of Duty in 3 months and this game will be nothing but a dust collector.

Im hoping this was a 1 time thing but I hardly doubt that will be the case. Now another strong character is going to be the focus of these scrubby crying rants of how much one character is OP…

It’s not escaping anybody. We’re just saying Sentinel is going to be a shitty tournament character now.

Patches are fine. Nobody hates patches, as long as they are handled correctly.

This patch was not handled correctly. A huge nerf in an immature metagame is almost never the right move. Smaller changes should have been made.

So if I use Sentinel online… will I be like one of those endangered species that you scramble to grab video cameras to capture?:rofl:
