MvC3: 2/3rds: The Morrigan Team Building Thread

How is that irony? How is a full 3 character team a shell?

possibly. I can see it definitely being a problem.

Why does that even matter? Team/shell/squad whatever I’m sure regardless the point comes across. I meant to say Morrigan and the Doom/Dante shell, but considering Morrigan/Doom, Morrigan/Dante, and Doom/Dante are all technically three shells I was thinking shells when I typed it out, and didn’t really care about checking it. Is it a crime to make a mistake on SRK forums?

Yes.

I feel so cheap using Mor/Strange/Doom since i like doing soul drain combos, but man throwing dante in there that much more annoying.

You can still do Soul Drain combos with Dante.

Nice like you can with Dr. Strange:

You can set up the bouncing state where soul drains knock the target into other soul drains if you hit jam session against a grounded character or low HSD character, easiest to set up by chaining into 6B xx astral to keep them in a nice place to start it. Also Jam Session is a better assist for the rest of her game plan since it helps zoning much more.

Not quite like that, though, right? Or can you loop multiple Soul Drains using this?

Morrigan/Phoenix synergy:

Morrigan Throw, Shadow Servant -> Healing Field, Teleport M, s.H + Dark Harmonizer, f.H, TK Trap L, f.H, TK Trap L, c.HS, sj.MMHS, tk.TK Shot L, dp.H

Builds 1.2 bars back and does ~580K. You get another Dark Harmonizer call right after the combo ends bringing you to to 1.5 bars, so unless you do something dumb this looks like a safe combo to perform off of Morrigan’s throw when you have 5 bars of meter and don’t want to risk losing Dark Phoenix. Of course, it also works if you have Dark Phoenix, and is then roughly meter neutral unless you want to end in Phoenix Rage, which does about 1 million damage all told.

I’m still looking for that Morrigan/Phoenix combo synergy that lets me use Astral Vision mid-combo somehow, even if it involves TACs, while remaining meter neutral. It must be out there!

In order to set up Soul Drain loops all that’s required is for them to be falling either to the left or to the right in the air while hit stun scaling is still low. Since you need to make an enemy fall onto a soul drain that will bounce them back into the one fired by the vision, which should combo into the next Soul Drain as well. It’s similar to how Strange works though I think you get just slightly less than you can off Strange.

Well, slightly less is 2/3 of a bar less, which is a pretty big deal. That’s what I car about.

You can build at least 2 meters of steal with it. Since I’m relatively new with her I don’t know the timing to combo after the loop when I hit with all 8 drains though.

Are you able to pull off the solo combo to AV activation? You should easily be able to keep the combo going after the AV activation with TK Shot, or possibly TK Overdrive. I don’t remember if the full solo AV combo is meter neutral or not though.

If I start playing Dante and using million stab combos instead of properly bothering to learn bold cancels, it’s your fault for making me hype about Jam Session.

Solo combo into AV activation only works with TK Shot assist in corners from what I can tell, though I’d be glad for someone to prove me wrong. I assume you’re talking about a Dr. Strange-like setup where you do s.LMH, f.H + assist, qcf.H, Astral Vision, and then ping-pong.

Well, not to the drain ping pong, but using TK shot to make the Shadow Blade to continuation link a lot easier is what I was thinking, since [starter]c.MH6H xx Soul Fist H xx AV, Shadow Blade L/M xx fly, H xx Soul fist xx unfly etc works without an assist, but the Shadow Blade link after the AV activation is fairly difficult. I don;t remember how much knock back TK shot has, I figured Overdrive would punt them too far away though.

Yeah, TK Overdrive has way too much pushback. Crap, if TK Shot can let her combo into Soul Drain that means I’ll have to think about swapping from TK Overdrive, which is far, far better for Dormammu… -_-

Eh, even if TK Shot did let her combo into Soul Drain I can’t see myself switching from TK Overdrive, it’s too good of an assist in the neutral. It would be good for theoretical knowledge, though, and for the Soul Drain thread. Hum…

can you get a semi soul drain setup with Hidden missiles or cold star?

I’ve been wanting to make a Morri/Doom team just to play casually so this is what I’ve come up. Trish/Morrigan/Doom. Lay traps keep away, call Harmonizer, zone and just build meter for the real threats. Anyone tried Trish with Morrigan before?

I never have, but I’ve considered it. Solid team. I just thought about something though, if you played the order in Morrigan/Trish/Doom, you could be zoning with SF, and call Trish assist before you call Doom. Having a peekaboo trap out would force players to block if they get close, giving you a chance to get away, or attack. That, and it would protect you from one attack if it connected with the trap. I wonder how long the trap sits out for. But then Missiles would protect you if the trap dissipates! I wanna try this team:3

It will work if you can do dmg with trish. Even heavy runaway, you’re gonna do some dive kicks and hit traps, etc. I worked a LOT on battery+harmonizer morri doom, and went with mag just because I can run and rush with him so well. I ran almost as well with trish but did shit damage on hits. If that’s not the case for you, you’re good to go. Id keep your order to stock meter, and because round harvest should be an excellent dhc to AV.

Im having fun with arthur/ morrigan/ doom right now. Morrigan with arthur gold flame bottle assist is so fun. Idk if she can combo with it. I just been playing the lame stuff.
