MvC3: 2/3rds: The Morrigan Team Building Thread

1 Hidden Missles
2 Vajra
3 Akuma’s Tatsu
4 Rolling Buckler
5 Wesker Gunshot

*note: I don’t have shuma or jill so I’m not taking their assists into account.

That’s a decently hard question to answer Karst, since some of her best teammates don’t have her best assists. Divorcing the assist from the character U’d say:

1)Hidden Missiles
2)Vajra
3)Log Trap
4)Eye of Agamotto
5)Samurai Edge

Log Trap gives her a scary as fuck throw game, along with the massive Soul Drain combos, but I really don’t think she and Rocket play too well on the same team. Could just be lack of Rocket knowledge on my part, though. Sam Edge also greatly improves her throw game, but less directly as it “only” gives you amazing oki set ups, instead of directly letting you convert into damage.

I’d go with pretty much what Nooneyouknow said minus samurai edge, and replacing it with cold star. Gives a better oki setup while also allowing for very strong pressure, and various other options from just having Ammy on the team.

I’d also give Jam Session an Honorable mention.

What does Rocket Raccoon do for her throw game? I’m not aware.

Log Trap called immediately before inputting Shadow Servant after any throw will follow and wall bounce after the full Servant, allowing for full damage and meter neutral to meter positive follow ups. It’s the only bounce assist that can keep up with them during the hyper.

Ammy is a better teammate, but I’ve always been fond being able to tech chase after they pick a direction into an unblockable. Plus the Soul Drain combo ender utility.

Hmm, really? Is that screen-position dependent? I remember trying it before for a possible team construction since I thought it would work, but it didn’t. I tried it again last night after reading your post, and it still didn’t work.

Ammy and Wesker both let Morrigan combo into Soul Drain, so they’re equal in that regard.

A combo that has some interesting implications; Morrigan starting on point:

s.LMH, f.H + Eye of Agamotto, Soul Fist H, Soul Drain, raw tag Dormammu, s.MS, sj.MMHS, call Dark Harmonizer, dp.M, qcf.AA

I only gave it a shot right after seeing a video with it, and didn’t have any issues getting it to work.

As for Ammy vs Wesker on Soul drain combos, I prefer my drain at the end if it’s only going to be one, to make sure I steal back all of the meter my combo just gave them. Sam Edge OTG into Soul Drain xx Finishing Shower in the corner also lets you link a launcher afterwords, which depending on proceeding combo can lead to a TAC attempt.

I should probably get back to learning Magneto and AV combos, and testing set ups more in depth, but I’ve been burning all of my practice time learning DI combos in Vampire Savior. Frame skip on turbo speeds in older Capcom games is a harsh mistress.

My favorite assists for Morrigan thus far are:

1: Hidden Missiles
2: Jam Session
3: Disruptor
4: Repulsor
5: Aim Master (Vertical)

  1. Jam session
  2. Hidden Missiles
  3. Ryuejin
  4. Rapid slash
  5. Vajra

Morrigan isn’t going to always get her Bullets off so you have to remember the other assist that help at neutral or bring something amazing.

  1. Hidden Missiles
  2. Vajra
  3. Jam Session
  4. Log Trap
  5. Tatsu

My Top 5 Morrigan assist [maybe not the best but the ones I play with]

  1. Hidden Missiles
  2. Eye of Agamotto
  3. Triple Arrow
  4. Disruptor
  5. Rolling Buckler

Repulser anti-pushblock properties help out so much with Morrigan fly cancel over heads.

Gonna try this out with toy hammer and drain loop.

I’ve been trying out Team Alioune (Magneto/Morrigan/Phoenix) and this sounds silly but Dark TK Trap is really really good with Morrigan.

It’s not silly, the question is just when do you think you’d be comfortable calling that assist, haha.

Does anyone use Morrigan and Phoenix together? I keep trying to find a good way to make Morrigan do damage with Phoenix on the team without losing too much meter. Suggestions are welcome. I know Phoenix Rage -> Astral Vision lands Soul Drain once, but that’s not covering enough for the 2 bars I just spent. If I could land two Soul Drains off of it I’d be cool with just TACing to Phoenix and DHCing Morrigan back in.

Thoughts?

You can just use Morrigan’s infinite. I contribute to communities I join. ^.^

Haha, I mean something realistic that I could do in a match.
