Anyone have any Morrigan/Amaterasu tech to share?
I’ve been using Morrigan/Doom/Ammy for a looong time, but I’ve never really tried to come up with anything. The only thing I got is:

and I’m going off of memory for this.
Best tech with Morrigan/Ammy that’s out right now, IMO, is the THC tech. Lots of damage in a combo, Soul Drain options, and the usual THC shenanigans.
That’s with her on Shadow Blade assist though, right? BLECH!
I wish Capcom gave her Shadow Servant as her THC for all of her assists. Best buff ever.
Morrigan/Amaterasu tech:
Amaterasu air throw in a corner:
Veil of Mist, Astral Vision, call Cold Star, wait half a second, Soul Drain, fly, Soul Drain, un-fly, Soul Drain, wait, s.S, sj.MMHS, Soul Drain, dp.AA
That’s right, 8 Soul Drains in one combo, or 2.4 bars of meter stolen from an air throw by Amaterasu. Total damage is 510,100.

Veil of Mist, Astral Vision, qcf.H, fly, qcf.L, unfly, [qcf.L, fly, qcf.L, unfly]x5-6 does 729,300.
This works:
[Ammy Combo], Okami Shuffle, DHC early to Astral Vision, Soul Drain, fly-cancel, float forward, s.S, Soul Drain, Shadow Servant
What do u guys think of Magneto/Morrigan/Doom? I feel morrigan is a bit weak at the beginning and I’m more confident with Mags mobility to use him on point.
This is an awesome team that a lot of people on SRK use. You get plenty of TAC options with Magneto/Doom [which are a good pair in and of themselves]. Magneto builds a lot of meter in the neutral game. Magneto does a lot of damage and doesn’t really have to use meter to get the kill. This team can be effective with either Magneto or Morrigan on point, but I prefer Magneto on point so that you can use Dark Harmonizer while rushing down behind Hidden Missiles.
I like this team a lot, but I went back to Morrigan/Doom/Hawkeye. Hawkeye is a great anchor and is more of a keepaway character than Magneto.
I am offended for the first time ever in this game:
Dark Harmonizer has no effect during Veil of Mist. This is some serious bullshit.
How did you miss my rant back in like, December about how Veil blocks meter gain for the entire team? I can only assume it’s like that because it’s so easy to pass the effect onto another character, whereas the other hypers that block meter gain can’t be passed at all.
Maybe I skimmed the post because I didn’t care about Amaterasu at the time. Sometimes I do that. I can understand blocking general meter gain for the team, but Dark Harmonizer and Soul Drain? -_-
I’m joining the Morrigan army so NorCal has more Morrigan experience if I ever get the time to play again. I really like that with Jam session I can hitconfirm off random soul fists and corner carry while doing almost okay damage and building a lot of meter. I really see a lot of potential to work through with her. Also, when I have Viper with harmonizer and Jam Session I can often hit 5 meters before my enemy gets 2, and if they try to get in I can EX seismo or Emergency Combination into Astral vision and get a super long chip string with Jam Session and Soul Fists.
Vascillating between:
Viper/Morrigan/Dante and Viper/Morrigan/Strider
I always feel like Morrigan/Dante is cute team, but well, it’s almost fair team, no real TOD, the zoning is only ok, and the dhc is nice but not really damaging.
I guess that Viper makes this team scary, but I’m not sure how she can deal with the “top” teams without some assist for covering the distance.
I mean, when someone block Dante, someone going to die, but good players can avoid that if not pushed to the corner by some mean.
I just found out there’s an extension uneffected by hitstun scaling that does a shiz ton of damage, DHCing from Viper I can kill Thor meter positive.

Testing it out I think with Astral on the extension by itself does a lot of damage at minimum scaling (Need to hit it at the end of a combo to see exactly how much, but it’s bloody insane). So that means with either Viper or Morrigan on point I can ToD if I execute correctly. Why in the world does 5C always combo into her DPs? It means that she can always link 2 assist extensions together as long as one of them hits really high in the air so she could use her 5C xx 623B xx 214S timing to have enough time after the first assist extension to get the other assist in.
Any tips on the most consistent way to figure out whether your shadowblade fly will cross up your inputs against a cornered enemy? I’m missing the fly 623C at the end a lot.
Whether Shadow Blade crosses up tends to be based on whether Morrigan is more in front of her opponent or under him/her. You get used to it after a while. If you’re nervous about it crossing up, just dp.M an cancel as soon as it hits. You lose very little damage and don’t have to worry about the cross-up.
Also, I haven’t tested Morrigan/Dante extensively, but Morrigan/Strider is beastly. If you use Morrigan/Dante, my inclination is to say you should use the Shadow Blade assist so you can THC with Dante and land Soul Drain multiple times.
I would Shadow Blade assist since Viper can also use it in combos, but Dark Harmonizer with Viper’s zoning is just too scary. I often can bring in Morrigan of my own free will with 3 meters and in Astral pretty stably if I just play lame. I’ll try to work on that for preventing cross ups.
The hilarious thing with Morrigan’s s.H is that it was nerfed without being nerfed. The cut a very large amount of stun off the move, but reduced the recovery by the same amount to keep the frame advantage the same. As to why it always combos into Shadow Blade, it’s because as far as I’m aware, the minimum frame of hitstun any move can inflict is 4-5 frames, and Shadow Blade is active on the third frame.
Aye, I understand why, it’s just such a bad design decision.
okay havent got the morrigan execution down yet (but im workin on it) so I just wanted to ask anyone here who has her down, is it possible to do more with morrigan at the end of these combos (like fly/unfly combos)or is there just to much hit stun.

You can probably fly cancel the second Soul Drain into j.S, dp.M, qcf.AA
