I have some other neat little things I do with Dante and Morrigan, I can’t remember them right now though (I haven’t played in quite some time, and I’ve been spending more time with my Iron Man team when I do play.)
I use Doom in the back, usually Plasma Beam because I feel it’s more helpful for Dante, but Hidden Missiles is definitely more useful for Morrigan, and Molecular Shield isn’t that bad either. Also XF3 Doom for when I inevitably lose the other 2 because I’m terrible at this game lol. I have been experimenting with other anchors, but apart from the usual suspects (Sentinel, Akuma, Dorm) I haven’t had much success. Another thing I’ll have to spend some more training mode time on I suppose.
I’ve been running Morrigan/Trish/Wesker and having decent results, I catch a lot of hate for laming the other team out though. Does anyone have any ideas on how to level up the team? Also is anyone else a Pad morrigan player? I’m having trouble with my flight cancels at times. One last thing, does anyone have any strats against vergils and dantes? I seem to have my most trouble against decent players of the two brothers.
Dante and vergil are a peculiar bunch, and imo two of her worst matchups (the 3rd worst matchup being dormamu). You need to learn the range of their swords, fly in just outside of it and soulfist, then dash in under the cover of the soulfist to get your opening. You absolutely need to make them whiff and you cant play fullscreen against them, they’ll simply just teleport on you and punish every soulfist. This is where Morrigan’s mobility comes in, being able to change the direction of her air dash in flight in order to try to score a hit. Once you open them up, don’t give them any breathing room at all.
I’m running a team that usually has at least two females in it, but morrigan and trish are usually the two.
I run a deadpool (quick work), Morrigan, (Dark Harmonizer), And Trish (Low Voltage). Incredible keep away and meter build. When you get a full screen connect off of deadpool’s Happy Happy trigger at the last moment DHC into Astral vision and try agression with firball support using quickwork for high low mix-ups. Once I get a knock down I shadow servant back into happy happy trigger and lather rinse repeat. Once Deadpool is gone the plan changes. It’s keep away annoyance to build meter and get free damage. I get some meter and a knock down to shadow servant and DHC into round harvest which connects EXTREMELY easily and hard tag into morrigan and astral vision and continue pressuring.
I like how aggravated people can get at that.
I also Like Arthur (Fire Bottle) Chun Li (Hyakuretsu Kyaku) and morrigan Dark H. Same prospect with a closer rushdown ideal.
Are these good ideas? I’m a Street Fighter tourney player and this is a bit new to me.
Im liking Hawkeye/Morrigan(Harmonizer)/ Doom (Missiles). Hawkeye is one of the best meter users so he benefits tremendousy from being able to to use Gimlets liberally. Plus his keepaway becomes insane with missiles, which can also be said with Morrigan (See Chris G). Doom’s just a solid anchor and his missiles make this team go. I’ve had a hard time choosing a team (check all the other forums lol) but this looks to be my “lame” team.
I would take chun off the second team. She really doesn’t benefit from meter. If you are trying to stay “Street Fighter” both Ryu (Denjin mode, Shinkuu Hadukens) Akuma, and Viper benefit tremendously from extra meter. I would also put Arthur second not first unless you plan on gold armoring him then tagging/dhc ing out.
Ok, so through a friend an some heavy practice I found a few characters that work with my Morrigan(harmonizer)/Trish(peekaboo). Deadpool, storm, cap’n, dante, chris, spencer and Jill. I’ve decided that either Storm or deadpool will work best for me. Leaning towards a point storm, second trish anchor morry.
Hey, why is the first team considered good? How does Deadpool synergy well there? I’m asking because there is a tournament in a couple of weeks here, and I intend to be at least top 4 in it. The thing is I dont even have a current gen anymore so I’ll have like max 2 hours to practice any characters before the tournament. I played a little bit of vanilla mvc3 tho, and played always Morrigan/Deadpool/Storm. So I kinda know already how to play 2 characters from that team,is doom an easy execution character or do I need him there only for the assist?
Deadpool is there to extend Morrigan’s combos into Soul Drain, and because he’s is almost as good of a user as Hidden Missiles as Morri herself. Doom isn’t hard, not by any stretch, but he’s also not super easy. That said, his assist is so good for the other two, that as long as you aren’t making uge mistakes, or facing tons of Zero or Viper teams, you shouldn’t need to play him much anyway.
Storm is nowhere near as good of a point as Morrigan without the ability to call assists during her float state. She’s in the second slot to provide her whirlwind assist for breathing room, and to DHC to after Shadow Servant for, well, whatever reasons you want. Hail complements reversal Shadow Servant very well, makes it 100% safe, adds on considerable damage after a Vector Drain->Shadow Servant, and of course gives you an 11 frame (10 preflash from Servant, 1 post f;ash for Hail) DHC or THC for assist sniping.
lol’s aside, you don’t necessarily need Doom, he’s just the best/most annoying to use for projectile barrage. Or switching to rushdown. And can OTG for you. And can let you get Soul Drain in a combo. I’m not really making a winning case here… uhmm, DHCs are garbage?
