I’m curious as to why you think capcom doesn’t work that well against storm when he takes away one of her main weapons, that being her runaway. Against capcom she can no longer just sit up there and float all damn day.

Seriously, Storm vs. Cable when Storm is winning is one of the worst blowouts in the game. Cable literally has NO WAY of making Storm stop running - not even Commando or Blackheart are much help, since she can pushblock either one and continue to run.
All you can do is hope they fuck up and pick a better equipped team next match.
Try and Cross up with CapCom AAA assist.
Stay on the ground doing D/F + FP to build level wile she runs.(you’ll get more metter doing this then she gets wile she is running)
If you have to jump, super jump away from her doing FP and if it hits xx it into AHVB but if the sj.FP is blocked xx into viper beam for some chip.
Expect to lose the Fight.:lol:

I’ll sum it up for those of you who are lazy and don’t know how to read.
Cable doesn’t beat runaway Storm. IMO, the best you can do is try to stay away and OC.Fierce to build meter. As she comes down, try to jump up and make her block viper beams, but only if you’re full screen away. You should never try to get close to her and cross her up. The risk/reward ratio is not worth it, especially when the majorty of players won’t be fooled by it. Just build meter and chip so you can bring someone else in that has a better match against Storm. You usually get an easy switch when she first SJs as well. If you want a more detailed strat, READ THE FIRST PAGE!
BTW, like Dasrik said, if you’re team isn’t equipped to fight Storm, then you need a new team. Seriously, if you want to be a competitive MVC2 player, you need to know how to work matches against the big four. Almost every other match you can just wing it.

dash forward wait for the typhoon dash back pscimitar… for crying out loud. the firstone will most likely miss but then aim again using the little cursor that tells you where you are and throw it again. not only will that catch them off guard but if it hits it hits and they will be a little less willing to go back.
well i havent posted here in a while but any way. Ok I don’t know if any one has tried this ok it’s the simple : Forward + HK yes that. it’s useful cuz it will go over any cr.lk from magnus and if they do it try to immeadiatley do the command grab or a scimitar. and it’s very fast i think it’s almost as fast as a scimitar it’s good to annoy and to get him to think about that then you can also call an assist or what not it’s useful in my opinion but as it sounds, it’s kinda hard to get it to work in really tuff situations well umm just my 2 cents.

You guys must be fighting fucking retards. If Storm is running away on someone with Commando, why is she going to put herself in a position to get hit by it? Most people will only fierce at the top of the screen where Commando can’t hit them, and wait for the corridor to pushblock it on the way down.
And _blitz, nobody vertical typhoons anymore. That is seriously the most retarded thing you can do while running.
Against run away storm can’t cable do scimitar plus commando especially when storm is flowing down?

Anyway, here’s another thing for storm to do, a way i like to runaway vs. commando assist users/abusers.
sj.hp, ad d/b, ad.hp
builds meter quickly, pretty safe seeing as how the 2nd whiffed HP allows you to immediately block and it’s not really punishable by any means. If you want, feel free to call Sent assist to get opponent to superjump into storm ownage range since anyone jumping vs. storm is asking to get guardbroke. If they don’t sj over sent, free chip since you can typhoon xx hail if you want to burn that meter you just built up.
Another nice little thing for storm to do is while rushing, call sent, LA blocked, typhoons, resume rushdown…
pretty safe chip seeing as how she’s falling during the horiz. typhoons and hits the ground as soon as they stop chipping. you’re on the ground by the time blockstun has worn off. just little things to throw into your rushdown game.

oh and Dasrik: i read the prior posts wrong. wasnt aware we talkin about storm runaway AGAINST commando … thought it was storm WITH commando, my bad i apoligize. with commando i didn’t understand what the dillema was so i assumed it was just the same old runnaway story. but still i dont understand what storm can do besides vertical typhoons way up thier that could be SO bad. build meter… thats all i can think of… please fill me in.

ok blitz well lets see to get in deph with the hop kick is pretty hard and yet simple.: ok then 1st off say if mag comes in dashing at you just do the Hop Kick and if he called psy it will cancel out now if he did a sj… rush down thing and u did the Hop kick it would be a stalemate. Now if you did the hop kick right when he did the lk on the sj. i think it would still be a tie, because the startup frames that it takes cable to be in the air is i think 1 or none! SO it will always cancel out. now if he did a dash in and instead did a lk w/o asssist and you did hop kick YOU WOULD WIN! you would because you are in an angle where he can’t touch you and your kick last a lot longer than his short, to be more clearer it is exacly the right length because when you hop his lk he can’t buffer it into a cr. hp cuz the game wont allow it. So from there you can do nothing and let it hit or you can cancel it out into a scimitar or the command grab! or to be safe just try to call an assist… or you can switch but you have to sort of read that, because if he comes at you and you know it you can time it so he whiffs and at that time switch and it will hit him but it’s not really safe. The Hop Kick is at best used against Magneto but it’s really hard to get it down so just practice. HOPE THT HELPS

oh well you would want to do more damage and besides that hit is pretty weak

does anyone know cable’s corner combo: launch into ahvb? its actually like a real aircombo (not just launch, jump ahvb). i saw a guy named taz do it at a tourny but he was from kentucky so i can’t just go ask him.
Well I dunno Cable’s corner aircombo into AHVB, but here’s something nifty if you wanna toss moves inbetween HVB’s with Cable in the corner.
