wildcat: i may just be saying info that is already known but i saw some stuff was missing so … :
in any ground combo with IM calling cable’s assist will easily link into the infinate. also off descending moves like a triangle jump.
a lot similar with black heart: descending from throughing demons, s.j. tail, land, crouching tail + cable super jump, demons and then do the demon inf or instead of throwing the second set of demons, (in the air) after you see cable hitting do inferno, heart of darkness. shut up i use black heart. :o
this ones really cool and i don’t care if you’ve seen it before or not cuz i taylored this myself: [ground combo with mags] standing light punch + cable, weak kick, cable hits, as soon as he does do a hyper grav magnetic tempest. i know you can mash out of the hyper grav but ive caught some pretty highly skilled mo fo’s with this because they don’t expect it and it catches you off guard. but i only do this once a battle and not even everyone cuz once someone new sees it then the secrets out. not really that usefull but cool.
storm: replace storms launcher with cable in the light, light, launch combo. call cable with the first kick and after the second one do a fierce punch then an up/forward lightening dash lightening storm and its pretty descaled damage. also instead of the lightening storm junk you can just follow cable up and do and knock the opponent out of it, do the full air combo then lightenng dash and storm if youdrather have it that way. this combo is really usefull in the corner: tri jump: when something conects do medium kick + cable (usualy it will be a medium with the follow attack) launch. cable will knock them out of storms launch and do a tri jump fierce kick into the fierce kick inf (or whatever version of it you do).
i don’t really use cable’s assist tackticly like you do. i just use it against tri-jumpers and fly sent, and the occasional black heart. in combos hes nice about taking out your launcher or launching them to just that right hieght to do something nasty. also instead of just letting cable take them of screen i try to knock them out of the pscimatar before they reach the top. it can be done real easy if you use him as your launcher in a combo because not only can you still hit with launcher in most cobos but it still hitting them when normally you would be jumping after them and its a safe combo. the only problem is getting them before cable completelty descales the damage. (thats why i prefere the kick, kick, cable, LD, LS) then … proton cannnon)
Cable AAA is NOT invincible at any time. Like Guile AAA, it only seems like that because when he starts out, his “vulnerable box” is REALLY low to the floor. Hard to hit, but very possible. I see Magneto kicking Cable assist in the head all the time.
The correct answer is, “call it out LATE enough and you will take them out”. That way the (unbeatable by physical attacks) projectile will be on the screen and you’ll trade at worst.
I love how when I call out Cable AA and someone does a super on me while I block. Cable will just take them right out and have them screaming WTF, bloody hell!?
Ok… got a couple of questions. I’m still a rookie with him and i need some info on this. On my way to learning the tiger knee AHVB I pick up another way of doing it. Instead of tiger knee it, if i’m crouching i would flash kick the AHVB(not sure if anyone else does this or if it has a different name). What i mean is, instead of the quick motion of tap down then u/f and the two punches i would charge down and just u/f with the two punches. Not sure if i comes out the same speed or alittle quicker but for me i can get the AHVB off closer to the ground then with the tiger knee after crouching. Well anyway… my question is, if anyone else does this to, does it work the sameway as the tiger knee. Can you gaurd cancel out of a speical and do it? Is it invicible like the normal AHVB that is done by basically everyone??
Does anyone do this combo… it takes some timing to get it off but it takes off 80. Its a OTG, I know cable not the type of character for OTGs and people can just roll out of them but most people wouldn’t expected it from him and even if they do roll out of it you won’t get punished that bad unless from cable i think. Anyway the combo is : c.Roundhouse c.short c.fierce XX HVB
once you do the c.fierce you have to wait until you see the bullet leave his gun. If you do it too early the bullet won’t come out and the HVB can be blocked. If you do it too late and the bullet connects before you started the HVB then the HVB can get blocked(well thats what i think could be wrong). The thing is with this combo(i’m sure you all know) that you have to be very close and that doesn’t happen alot for cables, but this is something you can do if the chance ever comes up. Oh just thought of something… you can get it off on a wave dash c.short.
no, learn how to do it the tigerknee way, its not that hard, don’t mess up the motion by trying to make up some new way, it’ll just take you twice as long to try to unlearn the old one. Seriously though the motion is very easy.
No don’t ever do this combo, in fact don’t ever use his regular HVB it is just asking to get killed, and by the way there are many characters that can kill you after you do something like this, and also most good players will roll under this everytime. Learn ahvb and use that in all of cables combos.
I already know how to do it the tiger knee way and the flash kick is easier after blocking. As for the combo… after the person is hit with the combo i’m sure you can’t be hit after it. Like i said i’m sure people will roll it but like other OTGs it still can catch people off guard. Because of the fact that noone real does anything like that with cable. Someone with a DC test the flash kicked AHVB with a block cancel to see if it works. I would but i’m not good aat the block cancel.
uh… no. You can punish cable severly after a blocked HVB, if you think that he can’t be punished you have much to learn. Against a good player a blocked HVB means death for your cable, no doubt about it. And even if you could maybe pull it off against someone when they are not paying real close attention, why would you take the risk, it makes no sense. And do you realize that even if you connect, if your opponet is cable, he can still punish you even if you hit him. This combo does not make any sense at all.
I know that if it is blocked he can be punished badly. The whole point in the combo that your not grasping is the fact that once your catch the person off gaurd with the OTG then they can’t block the HVB and i’m sure you can sub that for a AHVB which would allow you a safe speical… are you even testing the move out??? If i’m not mistaken alot of combos that are used alot can be punished even if they connect. Combos are used with the players discreation(i’m sure i spelled that wrong), if you know you can get it off do it, if not don’t do it. Very few combos out there is punish proof. This is one of them, but it is a good combo none the less. I’m not saying anytime you sweep a person go for this combo, what i’m saying is if you do it out of the blue it will connect and you will get 80 damage off your opponet. Test it out. Someone test it out. Also the flash kick too. Just finish testing the combo out and you can sub the HVB for the AHVB which will give you added safe against any attack after it. This info should at the very least get you to consider the move and not just say it is worthless. Sub’n it take a hell of a lot of timing so i wouldn’t suggest using this combo until you got it down or do it on someone or a character thats not good at punishing. wonder who they could be
For anyone that doesn’t really understand what i mean when i say flash kicking it or doesn’t see the difference. what i mean its the AHVB without the sj. it just comes out low to the ground just like it but its a normal jump.
and yes Mana-Seed is telling the truth and it even has the same speed BUT… it cannot be linked as the AHVB does… well i havent’ tried it but its the closes thing to AHVB…
How does cable beat a run away storm that has a huge lead ?
I have seen many matches in which case, cable couldn’t do shit. I also heard that at NEC3, jwong was always running away from sanford’s cable in the finals after he had the lead, sanford couldn’t do anything about it.
So what’s the best thing that cable can do to stop storm from running away ?
catch her when she lands with a c.lk and time bullets perfectly to get mini-traps over and over…that’s it as far as i know. not much you can pull. you can always go for the sj.lp and get lightning struck to death:lol: or just call capcom and dash back and forth{easy to block tho}
I see that there is not much that cable can do, capcom aaa works only against none experienced players, I personnely don’t think capcom aaa is that good VS storm.
