i think the only use cable would hav in that team would be his anti air if Strider was on point. Strider cant really do all that much for Cable, only Doom. But I guess its a good beginner team of Cable/Doom, and I guess throwing in Strider isnt too bad if u just want to use him, seems like it works, i never have played a team like that.
strider/cable/doom is a nice squad. takes loads and loads of work though.

s\c\d can flat out nuke your assist. Its the teams greatest strength. You can change the whole tempo of the match the first time your opponent calls their assist. I’ve done 90% to AA’s in the first 5 seconds of matches before. You can definetly turn the fight around with this team.
s\c\d is one of those skill smith teams. strider, cable and doom all have to be great in order for them to be ok as a team. not an easy team to play with but they can win.
the meter problems can be delt with and it doesnt really affect the team dynamics. Good team but not great. 2nd best s\d team in my book.
Lol ok guys I gotta show you some of my matches sometime. I know I’ve said in other posts too that I’ll get a video of my gameplay posted up soon but my freakin friend keeps forgetting his camera at home. However I WILL TRY to get my friend to bring his Camera this week when I head out to the arcade again.
Cable/Strider/Doom used to be my anti turtle team scrub team until my Sentinel got passable. The general idea of this team is to start Cable and have a bar in reserve. As long as you have that bar, you’re always going to be a threat to many options the other player has. You also don’t need to spam that much meter in the beginning because you have some good chipping options with Doom. So basically, you turtle your ass off with Cable/Doom and frustrate the opponent. When the opponent makes a mistake, you pour out all your meter to kill a character. At this point, you may be dry on meter. But you’re winning.
So you now have Cable/Doom or Strider/Doom with like a third of a meter and an incoming character who you get first initiative on. I’d say you’ve got a pretty good chance to hold that lead.
Damn lol I still need to practice some more with cable and doom. My Doom is so sad I can barely beat the computer with it x.x
I try to keep to the corner with cable and call doom out to keep people away but I don’t know what to do inbetween times when I call Doom out and it takes him a while to get the rocks ready to be thrown. Should I throw a grenade or shoot bullets with hp?
Booo don’t push yourself to the corner. Buuuutttt…If you do a fp ground viper while the rocks are forming, the fp ground viper is safe, since rocks come as the beam is ending, and then you can cover doom from there I think.
or try doing tk version of the viper beams, to keep them from jumping out. i do it and it works oftentimes.
wtf, do not corner yourself. youre making it easier for people to rush you down by cutting off a lot of your defensive options. there is only one lockdown with cable doom, it has to do with standing gun+doom, then viper beam. just play around with it in practice mode, i think its standing gun+doom, shoot 3 times, then fierce viper beam. or shoot four times and lp viper beam.
The only practice option I have is on my friend’s PS 2 with control pads and I absolutely refuse to play on those, they are thumb killers. But I’ll practice these few cable/doom tips at the arcade.
all that ironman talk a couple pages back about wut team lets ironman excel the most…has neone ever tried IM/sent/capcom, iron is such a ghetto sentinel =) he gets to fast fly with capcom now =)
