You’re trying to rewrite low tier to what you prefer to play it, not the players. Low tier rules have been laid out long ago this is nothing new.

Yeah I know they are banned, which is what I was using as a point of referrence in my comparrison of doom’s quality to theirs. You’re from Tennessee so I don’t expect your reading comprehension to be top tier. You might want to stop shitting on everyone else’s posts and the op’s thread since all you do is complain without offering any helpful suggestions like the rest of us are doing.
Also, I think most of this discussion stems from the inclusion of mid tier characters. All the characters that have been up for debate comprise the mid tier character list because they have clear advantages above “low tiers” but they lack something that allows them to hang with top tier characters competitively. It’s basically just a point of personal preferrence, but I do think there is a difference, as another poster said, between “low tier” and “not top tier.”
Also, ranbat style fo sho. That way people can be responsible for their own matchmaking, not putting all the pressure on the OP and also more people can participate because there won’t be as many conflicts in schedules.

Oh, also, you have to declare your team before competing. You can have any order you like but same three characters for each week of competition.

I sorta feel that tron should be banned, but not too hard pressed. I’d have to see how dominant that shit is really in low tier against non-scrubs. I imaging a LOT of tron assist users if allowed.
What I don’t agree with is the idea that if tron is gone, something else will be “cheap”…please. psy will not be cheap, commando won’t be (though I hate that muthafucka). nothing else pays off quite like tron. if you have a fast hi low character that shit is gross. trying to block online? haha. the matches would end hella quickly, instead of seeing some nice wake up strategies/creative mixups/etc. imo I also feel it would almost force you to play certain teams (prob with tron)
I agree with the current ban list though. don’t know if strider can make up a ghetto trap pattern or something…though while he has orbs activated that will be mad annoying for the less mobile/less somewhat-safe super chars in the game.
cyclops would be a bitch. he could just keepaway if he wanted…if tron is allowed, you will have trouble with him in the air and on the ground. too much priority/safety. I suppose it should just be seen how it’s played out.

I agree with what you say about the commando and psy assist, if you can’t figure out ways to punish that shit something is wrong with you. Tron’s is harder to punish with lower tier teams.
I can see issues with Tron being allowed, B.B. Hood/Tron takes little effort and it can take 75% off Sent. in a flash but on point she’s not as good as most of the characters on the ban list.
I can’t believe people where considering keeping Bh/doom either. If that was the case we would see alot of BH/Doom/Commando or Megaman/Doom/BH

Alright, time to kick things off. I split up the player list into groups of around ten each, making three groups. This was done randomly. All you need to do is get on LIVE and play against others in your group. One set of best out of 3 games.
This is a ‘pre season’ so to speak so i can examine and handle any flaws in this system. It will end Midnight Sunday (12:00 AM Monday morning, if you’d like) EST. In addition to the results PLEASE let me know about any issues with lag and who you were playing when you experienced it. I mixed up the central and western players with the eastern players, so we should have a good idea of how bad lag will be.
I see this going one of two ways: if lag isn’t a big issue, the groups will work by skill level. Finish the week in the top 3 and you move up a group. Finish in the bottom 3 move down a group. If lag is an issue I will structure the groups based upon minimizing issues with lag.
As you’ll notice Group C has 9 players. One slot open! First come first served. Second come, I’ll add your name to the player list and get you in a group come next Monday. Results will be posted here, and also on a google docs spreadsheet I’m currently working on.

edit: To be clear, you only need to play against other players in your own group. I thought one giant ranbat would be unachievable.

then post your group record…10-0, 9-1, 8-2, etc…
its best to create player match, 2 players, and make sure its private.
