My connection (Seattle, FIOS, very high bitrate) to Japan is usually pretty mediocre. They’re frame-precise enough that it’s a pain - but they’re usually all excellent and very eager to play against good players.
I try to make it a point to not play outside of the country. If I see some random country on their profile, that’s a hint that you should make sure you attack and keep the frame advantage so that you don’t get stuck on the laggier side and get randomed out.
Not everybody realizes that. I often point that out.
It also means neither person gets credit towards their achievements, which may be neither here nor there for you or I, but for the new people joining it can be a PITA.

People mostly has internet speed of 1 MB download / 128 Kbs upload (Lamest connexion, can’t play descently, lag attacks)
Average internet speed is 2 MB DL / 328 Kbs upload (which i have, and you can play normally with all the world but not against Japan people)
Rich people internet’s is 4 Mb DL / 512 kbs upload (which still upload speed is LAME)
And there you go why playing (most) mexican people is a lag orgy, you need a 2MB / 328 kbs UL connection or else, it will be a lagfest. :china:

Is this for real? Is there someone impersonating Preppy? After all those times he talks about hating people who counter pick, he waits to counter-pick my Doom on point (who I only just started playing and don’t use correctly) with Team Scrub. =/ (Note - I had already played my all-green team and badly lost to him without him needing Cable/Sentinel, either.)
And on our last match, he just mashed X to select default characters and gave up. =/ sigh… Now I feel really depressed after this lousy experience.
Note that I was picking Amingo and Gambit, you were picking Doom. I left the room after I played some trash Gambit/random/random team and lost to Doom/Cyke/Tron runaway. I have a Marvel cabinet in my house. I used to have it at work. I have played 10,000 matches against Doom teams (point or assist), and have seen about five interesting Doom matches in that time.

There’s a big difference between “trying to establish a fair-ish match” and “counterpicking”.
I rarely have grievances with someone, but:
You were playing boring beyond belief and admit to having ‘little skill’ with a pretty tedious character. I’m not under an obligation in Casual matches to keep forcing myself to engage in matches I have zero interest in, and had previously pointed out I “got bored” after I left the room that you were in. When you keep mashing “new game”, it’s kind of hard for the other guy to leave gracefully. Grinding out wins online isn’t really my idea of a fun time. I played you ten matches or something like that anyways. I was trying to be nice about it, and then you’re PMing me on XBLA and attacking me here. That’s awesome.
You following me to a new room and then trying to play more of the same as I’m enjoying playing Team Shoto and Amingojin against randoms – that’s totally on you. That’s kind of a fuck you move to the other guy who is happily not being around you. I can’t fathom how you don’t get that. If this were in real/physical life, is this how you would be acting?

It was Gambit/Morrigan/Cyclops-B, and it was only a “trash” team because you played Gambit and Morrigan worse than I played Doom that match. I’ve met people who could OCV me with Gambit, no lie. ^^;;;
You call my team “runaway”, but your only plan with your team was to either A) super jump, spam kinect card/soul fist or B) counter any rush-ins with Cyclops AA assist. The only reason I managed to win was partially because I lucked out. I mean, really, you could have picked that team again and beat me down with it. Could go either way. =)

I’ll only apologize to you when I have something to apologize for. This thread is meant to post bad games, and that’s what I did. I mentioned one match where you dropped to deny me a win, one match where you waited to counter-pick with Scrub, and one match where you gave up completely. All of those were bad games.

Honestly, Preppy, if you wanted me to stop trying to learn Doom during mid-tier casuals, you should have said so. If you had sent me a message over XBL, I would have done it for you. Honest to God, I’ve always considered you one of my favorite MvC2 players (even long before XBL play), so I wouldn’t have had a problem with it. I would have understood your reasons for asking me, too.

try to reread his previous post. you’re missing a lot of simple stuff like, there’s not really a good time to exit except in the game when you keep mashing X. doom IS counterpicking and if you really wanna practice you should be able to practice against his team scrub. using it against his true low tiers is not practice in the least and you’re fooling yourself.
he, like I would be, is very offput by your posts/thought processes…not the actual games (well until you use doom/cyc/tron against low tier and chase him to different rooms)

Ok this just seems to be a simple understanding between preppy and fluffymoochicken, it happens due to the fact that we cannot communicate with the person on the other end, we leave their facial expressions and the motives for their actions run wild through our imagination. Then we just think the worst of it when it could be completely opposite (except for when they teabag, kill all teabaggers). well don’t kill all teabaggers. some teabaggers are truly sinister in their intentions, but I know many others just don’t know any better. they just think it’s sorta fun/funny and think everyone finds it light fun (I know I did when I first saw it and started doing it). it really depends on their attitude, though their attitude is always hard to guess without them speaking on a mic. but for the most part, it’s bad intentions.

i use to teabag when i first started playing on live cause like you mentioned beats its sorta funny and it was common to do here in our local community. soon after i started getting alot of hatemail and stuff and experienced. teabagging from xbox live scrubs who send all kind of hateful shit. so yea i basically stoped the whole teabaggong business

well if no one is telling him then there’s no issue with him picking team scrub. it’s either one way or the other, you can’t pick and choose and you definitely can’t use stupid examples of other instances where low tier manages to beat high tier. so stop bringing that stuff up. if I was in the same situation I probably woulda done the same thing. I usually either have a strictly low tier team, or my high tier teams. I’m not going to mix and match and make up a team on the spot if you’re picking BS like doom/cyc/tron against low tier (regardless of how long you’re playing them). if you wanna pick very clearly high tier characters then don’t bitch if I pick MSP/thrax/whatever against it. hell some teams involving doom/tron own true-er low tiers more than MSP does.
it’s really all moochicken. preppy handled it the right way but moochicken is the one, still not communicating, who tried to call some BS on preppy. again, his thought process about the whole thing is wrong and that’s where the problems arise.
even if he can’t see that he is in the wrong about the counterpicking debate (when moochicken was really countering, then preppy just picked a high tier team to match) trying to call counterpicking BGs at all is not right. that’s not BG material. nor is the RQ that preppy didn’t even commit.

Bad games to LongshotXJohnson. Talks shit when he barely beats my training mode team by time over. Also bad games to Shuinkai for dropping when I made a comeback on him with Commando. And Dr00110112 or whatever for trying to runaway at the end(and probably lagswitching) with his last character vs my two, and he quits before the game ends.

And they’re not stupid examples of instances if it’s consistent. I never said tiers don’t apply. I said stuff about low tiers beating high tiers don’t apply. tier definitely applied when preppy had to play a dumb doom/cyc/tron team (or teams with any mixture of the 2). there was no intention with him going to scrub. he just picked a high tier team. whining because your a new player or only been playing the team for such and such long doesn’t matter and definitely doesn’t belong here.
After giving it a lot of thought, I think you’re totally right about this. It was a huge misunderstanding between the two of us.
He thought I followed him so I could “troll” him with Doom. I didn’t. @_@ I thought he counter-picked with Scrub because he was just trying be mean, but he wasn’t. He thought I was the one being a jackass by “following” him, when in reality I joined in his new room because I thought we had already been disconnected 5 minutes beforehand and that Gambit player was someone else entirely.
So yeah, it seems to me now like a big misunderstanding. For that, I hope it can be water under the bridge. Sorry for all the drama it kick started, guys. @_@
Actually, the team green I’m working on is Doom/Shuma/Cyc (Cyclops being in his green outfit). It’s not a REALLY great team, it’s just for fun casuals.
But Preppy destroyed Shuma on the first match by picking Tron Y assist and keeping the tentacle creature from doing much of anything, so that’s why I replaced Shuma with my own Tron-Y on the next match.
He can call it a turtle team if he wants, but he does the same thing to me all the time and I’ve never once complained about it. =P
