The voice actors seem to be the same, which is kind of nice. It would be weird if they had the MCU actors (although that’s probably out of budget anyway).
The problem is that everyone always want the second coming of MvC2. MvC3 tried that, and it was a piece of shit.
Its good that they are focused on designing a good game first where everything works instead of “we need this because MvC2 had it and we need this because MvC2 had it and we need this because…”
Perhaps instead of assists they could do empty tag moves? Like YRC but with tags? Here’s hoping that Megaman X can airdash cancel his moves and not be shit like Chun Li.
Yo I’m in there. Can’t believe how appropriate my avatar ended up being.
Early visuals on Mega Man and Ryu are pretty rough, but Iron Man and Captain Marvel look great and gameplay looks good from the limited glimpse we have.
If they did that, it would result in the game having a fraction of the roster. Some games can get Patrick Stewart or Ron Perlman and be awesome, but there are times when a studio gets a big celebrity and their rates eats up a TON of the budget. And to make matters worse, after the Hollwood actors are done with mainly the dialogue, some of the incidentals/screams/grunts are left to voice actors who have to voice match the fill ins for less pay. So if you had 6 MCU actors for this, you’d implode your budget just to bring a movie synergy in a game where despite there being a story mode, is having the fight sounds be more of the audio focus with the characters. I can’t remember a fighting game ever focusing so much on getting Hollywood talent.
