Mvc1 had the most team synergy of the 2-man vs games and that was mostly duo synergy or option synergy. Theres team counters tooâŚRV/Wolv counters DWM counters striderine counters RV/wolv etc etc
Cable needed buffs more than nerfs at the end of mvc2 /:
MvC2 got a lot of things right on purpose and right on accident. The thing about the god 4 is that they are able to play a very dynamic game between them. Other characters are viable but those 4 fill a lot of archetypes between them which is why that game doesnt get stale regardless of it being a lot of the same characters all the time.
That aspect of it is something very much missing in mvc3; a game that which by having a bigger roster did all the things that were bad about mvc2 in a way worse fashion.
The true beauty of mvc2 is how the meta evolved thru player skill, sans patching, to change things around. Cable RAN SHIT for a long time and then he was quickly made irrelevant, not because of patches or nerfs, but because players got better at movement and getting in
Well itâs not like companies let you evolve anything anymore any way. SFV giving people a year before they shake the game up is about the closest weâre going to get to OG âlet it rockâ.
Capcomâs statement was that they were planning on nerfing Sentinel before the game launched and just didnât have time to do it during development LOL.
Marvel didnât sell 800k. Vanilla sold 2.2 million and Ultimate sold 1.2 million. Neither is mindblowing, but considering they released Ultimate months later, they still managed to make Capcomâs Platinum list. Anyway, letâs just wait for the game to come out first before having the doomsday talk.
Vanilla shipped 2.2mill and and Ultimate shipped 1.2 mill.
This is not the same as sold units, which were way lower than that.
Vanilla got hard on their momentum once Ultimate was announced, and by the time Ultimate was released a lot of people were not happy.
hmm apparently james chen was wondering how theyâd get marvel 4 ready if disney only recently started being more open with the license. Thoughts are itâs just a teaser or that marvel 3 port may be an appetizer for now while they get marvel 4 ready.
At the end of the day, shipped means sold to Capcom. Unless a game is downloadable only, thereâs no way to track how many were actually sold. I donât think they care either way. They moved a total of 3.4 units combined for the games and both made the platinum list. Thatâs hardly an L for them. It also doesnât help that the game got removed altogether because their deal with Marvel ended.
Hopefully theyâll learn from their release day woes to put themselves in better standing. I feel as though games like Marvel, SFV, and SFXT wouldâve been received much better if they didnât have so many issues at launch.
