Even if the general system is “easier”, keep in mind that we’re still bound to get a few technical characters. MvC3 had multiple characters with a very high skill ceiling such as Jill, Dante, and C.Viper, all 3 of whom were new (MvC3 Jill was new) in a game that emphasized simplicity.

People are NeoGaf are speaking rumors about an Ultimate Marvel 3 port for PS4. Seems unlikely, but would help generate hype/excitement for Marvel 4.
(Except for all the new players that play Marvel 3 for the first time and I incredibly disappointed if there are no X-Men in Marvel 4)
Worth noting that Donovan was actually considered for MvC3 before they went with Trish. Jon Talbain placed really highly in US request polls all through MvC3’s lifespan. Many of the Darkstalkers are outclassed by other Capcom characters (Victor vs any other Capcom big body), so I’d expect Morrigan + one of:
Felicia, Jon Talbain, B.B. Hood (will probably be snubbed for another tiny character like Megaman or Rocket Raccoon), Donovan, Huitzil (as the Sentinel replacement), Demitri (hard to do Midnight Bliss without using either a generic form or a small roster), Anakaris, or Hsien-Ko. If we’re going full TvC and have 2v2, we might actually get solo characters. This opens up Pyron.
The “solo characters” theory could also be used to explain the Akuma in the trailer as a playable Shin Akuma.
I wouldn’t be disappointed if they took out Midnight Bliss if it meant getting Demitri in, Morrigan had Soul Eraser in MvC1 and 2 so I’m not against characters getting new moves
I’ve also heard a couple times though unfortunately there’s a “no vampire characters” rule for the roster for Marvel games…
Too many Capcom characters that I’d like to see to be in the game. As for Darkstalkers, Morrigan and Felicia are a given. Hopefully Hsien-Ko will still be around and I hope they add B.B. Hood and Jedah. If possible more Darkstalkers cos I find them more interesting than Street Fighter.
As for Street Fighter, Ryu, Akuma and Chun-Li are a given. I hope Ingrid, Juri and M Bison will be in this game.
Of course, Megaman X should be in this game.

Donovan is nice too but it’s the least Darkstalker-ish character of the roster. I’d rather have Demitri or Jedah.

When it comes to roster size, I can’t see it being smaller than 28 should it actually happen. And hell, if it’s 28, people will go crazy over its “small roster”. Shit, people bitched about MvC3 Vanilla’s roster being too small.

As much as i’d like a umvc3 port (would make it easier to have people over who like the game) it’ll probably just leads to complaints that the game needs to be run on 360 woth accounts which were fortunate enough to have bought the dlc or…just ban jill and shuma.
People wont accept the ps4 as the new standard so it’ll be irrelevant.

Capcom said they couldn’t include many Darkstalkers characters because they tend to transform way too much for their moves, and that takes up too much RAM memory.
Check at Felicia, Hsien-Ko and Morrigan, most of them don’t transform that often.
i know a lot of mvc2 and 3 players hate on tvc but id honestly be pretty happy if mvc4 played like this. no free supers after knockdown

I would love a return to the TvC style of gameplay. I liked that game more than MvC3.
Morrigan is part of the “Crossover Free Pass Trio” with Ryu and Chun-Li, so she’ll ALWAYS have a spot in ANY Vs. Game they make, regardless of how many other spots for her series there may be.
