Licensing is still a thing though
Pretty sure this just means storylines and versions wonât be an issue. Iâm sure marvel is going to promote their current offerings to boost their profile.
TV and movies characters would still be higher in the food chain that they are the characters the mainstream public are familiar with.
I donât know, i donât think the F4 will make it in considering why they were excluded last time.
At best, i can seem Johnny Storm making it in. Since he did almost make it in last time.
But i feel like weâll just be getting Doom and Super Skrull again if we get any F4 character.
Personally though, iâd love for Sue Storm to make it into Infinite and Johnny, to have a brother/sister team.
The âmainstream publicâ doesnât play fighting games.
The reason they didnât make it in 3 was because Marvel wanted all of the FF or none. Capcom only wanted Torch and Thing, but one was too graphically demanding, and Thing would be too similar to Hulk. It wasnât worth it. Then they came up with Skrull.

But companies make money because of the mainstream public. Or do you think SFV is more succesfull than MKX?
If the foundation is solid, the competitive scene will play it anyway, even without staples. I think the amount of people that wonât play it because of lack of some characters ainât enough for them to consider while coming up with the roster (but I would be happy if they did).
As someone who only learned about Marvel characters from MVC, playing with a character I learned about beforehand with the movies will be fun.
The question then becomes: what has changed that this line of thought no longer holds water?
They are the ones Capcom and Marvel need to make the game successful. Capcom donât want this game to go the way of SFV.

Edit: Speaking of Marvelâs DICE 2017 video game planning announcement, & ever since Capcomâs USFII announcement, including the features in DMC4SE & SCIIHD, I feel itâs about time for some older games to have final updates or/& re-release like:
- Activisionâs Marvel RPG Legendary Edition
** Ultimate Alliance series (part of Remastered/Re-Release Patch 3)
** X-Men Legends series - Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Final Edition (has CvS2/CFA assets, & both revamp button input & gameplay)
- Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 Infinite/OO (Violent Ken, Yang, Decapre, Kyosuke & Captain Commando mostly. Hiryu, Darkstalkers (Morrigan, Felicia, Hsien-Ko, Lord Raptor)

even when brackets are free the same amount of smash people will play mario tennis ultra smash as they will sfv
they wonât even touch marvel even when only two people are even decent at it

Personally not expecting anything Dino Crisis related since Capcom seems to have put the series on ice.
Thatâs is really sad, considering there will probably be someone with Chris moveset (if not Chris himself) and summons. RE should be represented only by Wesker or a monster. Keep gun users for Marvel or other franchises, since guns is really vanilla.
Seems like every game is getting announcements while weâre sitting here waiting. I guess Capcom really wants to have all of the spotlight when they start revealing more. Please announce something this month.
Iâd be surprised if we donât get anything at Final Round. Looking at the release schedules of previous games, Capcom usually has something to say by the third month after the initial reveal. The game was announced prematurely, but it also has gone longer without news than MVC3 first did so itâs getting to a point where they definitely should have made progress. Personally, I donât care if they show the same characters as before. I need some pure, unedited gameplay footage to fuel my hype.
I just want them to separate MVCI news from SFV events. I donât want to have to watch that invitational on TBS to see a character reveal. Even at EVO, if theyâre going to reveal stuff there, I want it after UMVC3 finals, and not SFV 's.
And why should they give up extra eyes just to satisfy you?
At this point, the extra eyes would be on SFV, while people watch it eagerly waiting for MVCI news.
