Nobody is talking⦠guess Iāll leak some info early (self.mvci)

Hey guys. Iām on a throwaway for obvious reasons, and Iāll tell you that Iām on advertising. Iām tasked with a segment of what will be a commercial aired on TV and online. Hereās what I can tell you from the clips given to me:
Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth from Ace Attorney are in the game. (The commercial is targeted to Ace Attorney fans and will likely play during runs of the seriesā tie in anime as well as on sites relating to the franchise)
Apollo is base roster and Edgeworth will be paid later.
Apollo has Athena from Dual Destinies as a helper in a similar way Maya was Phoenix Wrightās helper in Marvel vs Capcom 3. Franziska Von Karma is a part of Edgeworthās base moveset in some way.
Wolverine and Cyclops are in the game (likely downloadable because they appear in the same clips as Edgeworth)
Instead of evidence Apollo has some new mechanic. It involves āfinding your opponents patterns and revealing their mistakesā which I think means hitting your opponent during their end frames. When it fills up he gets stronger. No idea what that means specifically. Might be turnabout.
Edgeworth has a cinematic hyper that involves all the seriesā prosecutors. Godot throws coffee, Blackquill takes his sword out, etc. ending with a 6 man āTAKE THATā
Cyclops has the blue jump suit but has a seemingly new moveset.
Godot is a paid skin for Cyclops and the Winter Soldier is a skin for somebody who uses guns.
One clip showed early HUD. The hyper meter now says āMax!ā at 4 meters.
Daredevil is in the game and teams up with Apollo in the story mode.
Weirdly no mention of Phoenix Wright
Iāll end with what I think is the coolest: the Mind Stone. When activated it gives some sort of projectile immunity, like it shows Edgeworth walking through a Uni-Beam. You might still take damage though. Similar to the power stoneās explosion and the time stoneās teleport it also has an active effect. It shoots out a blue beam that has enough projectile stamina to keep Ryuās hyper beam at bay (and effectively cancel the super) with 2 uses.
EDIT: Thereās been some doubt so let me say this: I was equally surprised with the 2 lawyers. To clarify what I said above about the ad being targeted to Ace Attorney fans: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice (and that Japanese exclusive game) sold well and the higher ups want to make sure that this time Ace Attorney players pick up this game after the mediocre response from people after Phoenix Wright was added, so they added the fan favorites. Thatās all I was told in my assignment.
Leaks arenāt even worth posting unless thereās some sort of proof, to be honest with you. Any old fool can make an account and a long-ass post about a bunch of bullshit.
Advertising? We might get some actual leaks later, but not from there and not on redditā¦My guess is that by Final Round Capcom will have at least broken silence on the game, maybe showing us more of the build the trailer was based on (with possible adjustments). The more fleshed out build will come at E3, then character reveals will start coming at a decent rate soon afterward. Until then all we can do is waitā¦and try to hold onto our sanity.
The weirdest part. On Cap/Morrigan reveal they did 2 tags, one 1 bar super into 3 bar dhc. If tagging donāt cost meter, the game will be a tag fest. Or Morriganās Darkness Illusion is 1 bar.
Speaking of Morrigan, I want this back.
Marvel Games Wonāt Be Tied to MCU, Which Is the Best Decision They Could Make
Marvel Games isnāt forcing its developers to tie their video games into existing Marvel Cinematic Universe storylines. This might sound weird, given how interconnected the MCU has been over the past decade, but itās actually a blessing in disguise.
Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann told IGN at DICE 2017 that the teams behind Marvelās upcoming video game releases were granted the freedom to come up with their own storylines, and they wonāt have to match release dates with upcoming films. These include: Spider-Man for PS4, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and The Avengers project from Square Enix.
āItās a bit like weāre saying, āHey youāre the chef, youāre going to make this meal. Hereās all of the ingredients. You pick the ingredients that you like and make a new meal,āā Rosemann said. āWe want all of our games to tell an original, all new story.ā
This is not an accident. Even though the MCU has been, on average, more successful than the DCEU, Marvel has largely sucked in the video games department. Many of their movie tie-in games were critical and commercial flops, like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (based on the Sony film) or Thor: God of Thunder. Even when they got the original voice cast, like with 2008ās Iron Man video game, the games failed to impress.

Itās partially why in 2014, Marvel Games pressed the pause button on the entire video games division, refusing to renew long-standing licenses for Activision and Capcom. They pulled several titles from Steam, including a Deadpool game that had only been out for six months (it was later reissued after the filmās success). They also refused to make console or PC games for some of their most successful franchises, including The Avengers, whose first-person game had been cancelled two years prior. Since then, itās been mostly mobile games, along with the occasional Lego release and Disney Infinity, which was cancelled late last year.

Marvelās games may have struggled, but DCās thrived. DC has had some of the most successful superhero games in recent memory, including the Batman: Arkham series and Injustice: Gods Among Us, whose anticipated sequel comes out in May. Thatās because Warner Bros., which took over DC video game production in 2009, gave developers more freedom to come up with their own interpretations of the comic book characters. Itās clear Marvel took inspiration from DCās success, and pressed the reset button on their entire video game enterprise so they could start fresh. In fact, Jay Ong, Marvelās vice president of games, told Polygon in 2016 that they were ushering in a ānew era for Marvel Games.ā In doing so, Marvel made the right choice.
Players have shown time and time again that they donāt want a simple recreation of a movie theyāve already seen. They want to see their favorite heroes in unique yet identifiable situations they canāt get anywhere else⦠including at the box office. Itās why Marvelās shows on Netflix have been doing so well: Theyāre darker and more ethically complex than their cinematic counterparts, showing fans a different angle of something familiar. Only time will tell whether Marvel Gamesā gamble will pay off (Telltaleās Guardians game will be the first test, coming out sometime this year). But hey, at least theyāre taking the risk.
Yeah, the creative freedom the Marvel Games division is getting is fantastic. I love the movies, but itās like the 3d Spider-man series from MTV; they canāt move too forward since the show was taking place inbetween movies, and thereās no way that anything the show does will have an effect on the movies, so it ultimately made plot points useless. Letting the games do their own things allows for a wide range of characters, settings and events to be represented. Look at Spider-man PS4, Iām beyond hyped that weāre seeing adult and experienced Spidey fight Mr. Negative and who knows what else.
The creative freedom that Marve just gave to the game creators pretty unties developersā hands in terms of which characters they can use, which iterations of said characters are included, as well as write truly original stories with said characters, since they wonāt be tied to canon anymore. This can lead to very interesting directions the Marvel roster can go into, such as becoming evil or completely different people altogether
Sweet. So Juggernaut, She-Hulk, X-Men, MODOK are all plausible and none of those lame TV show characters like Agent Whatshisface and Jessica Whogivesashit are necessarily in. Win win win.
