MVC Infinite Lounge: DLC Characters and Costumes launch Dec 5th

So apparently Power Stone (the dreamcast game) is gonna have some correlation with this games story and the power stones that are in it.

A Power Stone rep would be awesome. I never played 2, but the first game was one of the funnest games I ever played. I loved the Super Saiyan nigga that did the Spirit Bomb as well.

Capcom said Infinite is their first step in reviving many of their dormant franchises, so including a Power Stone rep would be a great start.

As much as I love star wars, I’m one of those people who were mad stoked about Vader being in SCIV. I’d welcome him in MvC but I’m not really expecting him to make the cut.

Im excited about the prospect of the hunter character from monster hunter, so many possibilities to cover for that one in terms of costumes, themes, moves, supers, etc. Im fairly certain that they’ll go with the rathalos armor as it’s the most iconic, and also probably have both the male and female character model. alt colors can be rathian, tigrex, Diablo, deviljho, brachydios, etc.

Seriously, shit gets redundant when people are talking about the exact same things in two different threads, more importantly, salient points are often missed out because the discussion is taking place in two different threads.

Seeing Ryu activate the Power Gem twice made me think about some stuff. I guess when he raises it in the air, that’s when the scenery changes. Afterwards is when you probably have to summon it to activate the abilities that comes with it. Now I’m just wondering if Gems can be used at any point, or are they only available when you have one character left. I’m sure there’ll be a time limit like it was in Marvel Super Heroes. I really want to learn more about this.

I wonder if anti-airs will be actual anti-airs for once instead of left in the dust in the face of mobility, especially given the lack of assists

Might be unique to the Power Gem, some sort of wallbounce you can use while it’s active. The Time Gem didn’t have it.

I strongly expect that the gems will be used as a sort of comeback mechanic. I’m expecting that they will either only be available when you have one character left, or maybe they will be available if your two characters fall below a certain HP threshold.

Yeah, it certainly seems that way. Will be glad when we get to see more of it.

Another thing I’m interested in seeing is the HUD. Most people hated UMVC3’s change from MVC3, but everyone eventually got accustomed to it. Wonder how it’ll look this time around. I kinda miss the old COTA/MSH portraits where it changed whenever they were taking damage.

I’m cautiously optimistic. If SF5 is any indication (which hopefully it is not) then I think we might get some bullshit. However, they’ve said that some of the OG devs are working on the game, which has to be a good thing. The ā€œaccessibilityā€ stuff is always scary, but we just have to hope that they use common sense and take a more GG-esque approach to accessibility (sorry MikeZ, but they did it better than 5). Graphics wise, I think it already looks 100x better than 5, albeit a bit clunky (although considering we are in Alpha phase I’d say that is another good sign). Overall we just need to hope that they leave the weird bs stuff like removing invul from DPS in 5 and let Infinite be the swagged-out, crazy fighter that the series is known for

A bit off topic, but this isn’t even a weird thing in Street Fighter since, as far as I can recall, this was also in 3rd Strike.
