MVC Infinite Lounge: DLC Characters and Costumes launch Dec 5th

“You see, in Skullgirls,” [everyone with a brain gets that deafening ringing in their ears like they stood too close to a grenade in Call of Duty the instant the word “Skullgirls” is uttered]

Call it naive, but I want to believe they’ve learned their lesson from SFV season 1.

Fixed.

Still don’t get where you get all this hate and get triggered anytime Skullgirls is brought up.

If anything, stuff in that game is relevant to the discussion because, what was it that Mike Z did when developing Skullgirls? Or right, study what it is that made Marvel vs. Capcom 2 work.

MvC2 had a lot of hidden mechanics and concepts that made the game work despite how much the game kept getting broken by players. Stuff like push block guard cancel, or unblockable protection on pushblock, etc.

Oh you haven’t seen the s2 changes yet?

Skullgirls girls is boring as shit

How can you hate Skullgirls? It’s amazing…

I have. I didn’t have an issue with throw loops and I think removing invincible DPs seems like overkill, but I’d be okay with testing out these changes first.

Fair enough. The DP thing is just mind boggling to me. I guess Woshige went crazy after his Evo meltdown…

eh? what happened at evo?

I’m assuming this is it:

I do it because I care how much you care. I don’t think you’re getting the message though.

Skullgirls is not MVC2. It is the dumber, fatter, significantly uglier inbred stepchild of MVC2. No one wants to play it and I find it hilarious how mad you get whenever anyone insinuates that it’s less than perfect.

And even though you urinate all over my game despite not knowing anything about it because it’s an easy target and you have nothing else to grab onto, I want you to know that I still love you d3v. I’m madly in love with you, infact if it wasn’t for this internet barrier between us I’d be committing so many sexual felonies on you that haven’t even been invented yet.

I feel like they’re listening to the wrong people. I know it’s easier said than done to just “guess properly” when it comes to throw loops, but that’s just what you have to do lol. I can see why people would want it gone, but I didn’t mind it. Wanting invincible DPs gone baffles me, though. Nothing feels better than baiting a DP and crush countering your opponent.

Hopefully they approach MvC:I differently.

incoming mixups are, imo, what make marvel better than street fighter.

i want wavedashes, airdashing, trijumps AND incoming mixups. with the x-men characters not being ruled out, do you really think they would bring in magneto or storm and NOT have airdashing/trijumps?

I like where this is going. The minute long combo, kill a team from 1 touch, assist cheese, was hype and love and will forever have a special place in my heart . This is a new marvel a reboot of sorts and I’m prepared to play it and enjoy it for what it is.
Please fam I love all y’all and I love this community but please let’s not fall into the same old crying being negative and comparing new and old games. It’s harmful to the community when new players join the community and 50% of the discussion is about how the game sucks.
I like seeing new young players get into the FGC and do their thing. Backseat game developer discussions for one should be on capcom unity, and for 2 this is going to be developed by Capcom in house, since when has Japan listened to our feedback.
So please just leave the past in the past and make way for a NEW game and the NEW players that will come with it.

I like incoming mixups in Marvel. Adds a layer of depth to the game. Just hope that in the new Marvel, Capcom attempts to do a comprehensive basic & advanced tutorial mode in MvCI. Similar to what Guilty Gear Xrd has currently. We might not get comprehensive tutorials right off the bat, but as new techniques become developed in the game, it could be added through updates.

The only reason I even raise this concern was that in Marvel 3, lots of potential new players (in my experience) were turned off by being forced to learn certain setups that didn’t make sense to them unless they had already played the games extensively or incurred that knowledge through streams/competitive play.

I’ll take “Things that won’t ever happen.” for 200, Alex.

A few things to note from the latest Marvel Live feat. Yipes:

Marvel Infinite’s development had started in late 2014 - early 2015.

Yipes thinks we will go 7-8 years of Marvel Infinite WITH updates, thanks to Marvel and Capcom’s working relationship.

Yipes said that MVC:I will NOT be apart of the CPT, but something different entirely.

“I’m telling you guys, you don’t have to guess so much. The MCU is down with MVC Infinite.” - After speculation about Marvel Netflix characters started.

According to Yipes, Marvel 3 had a working balance patch but never came out after Capcom lost the license.

Imagine if that patch came out.
