MVC Infinite Lounge: DLC Characters and Costumes launch Dec 5th

That is true, but at the same time, if you look at Zero and Dante it seems like Strider should be the obvious choice to round out the squad, yet tons of people had Vergil bc he’s a total fucking beast in 3 (more so with XF and tension).

Your ArcSys is showing

Hey Marvel might as well be an ASW game. Capcom just tricked a lot of people who ostensibly don’t like “anime games” into playing one

It’s nice to see the vanilla MVC3 posters back at it again.

I’ll read upon the thread later, but have you guys discussed about what the people working on the game meant by the “infinite” freedom of the tag system? The way the somewhat justified it for the lack of assists makes me think that we might get abilities such as the opportunity to cancel a move on whiff with tagging out. Stuff like Buster xx Tag to Ryu > Ryu follows the Buster for pressure ala Xrd YRC. I would be really interested in seeing how expansive the new system is. I’ve always felt stuff like Ken Tatsu xx Tag Out for pressure in SFxT was cool and all, but a game like Marvel needs more than that.

PS: When’s the truly outrageous memes.

Unfortunately, there’s just not enough to go on, but I believe most of us agree that getting mix-ups from tagging on blocked/whiffed moves would be a great way to tone down the nonsense that was MvC3 without making the game a snoozefest.

Whomever said no mixups on incoming, while I’ve never been a big fan of the idea of dealing with Mags with drones on incoming, it’s almost a series staple at this point. Since this is a 2v2 scenario, can someone who’s played both MvC1 and SFxT give me a personal and indepth look into the matter? It might be worth discussion.

This dude gave us the details before anyone else did, he’s legit. It’s not 100% confirmed, but it’s incredibly likely.

Yooooo, that’s hype af. Also probably the real reason the series is back to 2v2.

I just hope they don’t go too far and overreact to the last game’s issues. Like from SF4 to SF5 they clearly overreacted to the silly oki from 4 by implementing all sorts of quick rises etc that are kind of dumb. I don’t want them to make the same mistake here. Marvel 3 imo was a few patches away (ditch tac infinites, ditch the silly haggar lariat left/right stuff, etc) from being pretty solid imo. I still really like the idea of being able to lock someone down and forcing them to hold a mix up, just maybe not when they’re incoming

Mix-up on incoming didn’t exist in SFxT. The round ends when one character dies and raw tags were rare. Most would use their safest move and tag cancel if they wanted to bring in their other character.

I think mix ups on incoming are kind of dumb tbh. You should at least have to make a mistake in neutral before you eat a mix up…

Generally, you already made a mistake which cost a character. The incoming mix up is icing on the cake.

Yeah you’re right, but I don’t like the idea of one mistake costing potentially both characters. However, if they added a burst stone then that’d be a different story

Baiting bursts in Marvel…that’d be hype af

I know I’ve been saying that worrying this early is stupid, but this is a legit concern. The only thing I see going wrong with this game is Capcom trying to correct what they thought was wrong with the last game and ruining everything in the process.

Would you guys want 3 bars maximum like MvC1 or 5 bars?

Not sure. I’d need to know if certain things cost meter and how much. Particularly the different types of switching options.

The easy answer is 3 if Meter is only used on Supers, 5 if it’s a resource for switching/tagging/etc

In response to the tag argument, lets not forget that in Marvel, it’s often not only an incoming mixup, but another incoming mixup after you’ve inevitably disposed of the first foe, with a full team sweep highly likely. Just look at all the mileage KaneBlueRiver gets out of incoming mixups, more than any other UMvC3 player if you ask me. One touch equals dead team is freaking harsh.

5, because you can have more variety in how much something costs. I can’t imagine how OP something that costs 5 bars would cost, but with 3 you’ll never know.

Just like in Skullgirls Valentine can actually revive a dead character with 5 bars. Let them get creative.

I feel like Skullgirls may as well be an honorary Marvel game.

lol at ruining

Mixups on incoming allow the games to flow much better since the player who has momentum is able to continue it This is especially important in situations when someone’s mounting a comeback against another player while outnumbered.

Yeah there is definitely no precedent or anything regarding that worry…
